About 20 minutes away in Altus are historic wineries, like the Wiederkehr Wine Cellars. The annual Altus Grape Festival takes place each July. The nearby University of the Ozarks is listed in the U.S. News and World Report as one of the top comprehensive colleges in the South. Several businesses reside in the area, including Tyson Foods, Inc., Baldor Electric Co., Hanesbrand Inc., Bright Harvest Sweet Potato Company, Wal-Mart Distribution Center, Greenville Tube Company and Nuclear One. There are restaurants within walking distance to the hotel. .
