Location & staff
Breakfast needs more healthy options
We had our dog with us, and I appreciated having a room that was on the first floor, near an entry door from the outside.
Air conditioning in the room did not seem to cool well and also to noisy
Location Mexican restaurant across parking lot Price
Small pool. Crowded breakfast area Just OK breakfast food
Mold in the bathroom. Elevator did not work. Room not clean.
Location good. Breakfast in the morning. Comfortable accommodations.
No a/c in the lobby, room and hotel were smely, Breakfast was poor, some crockery was also missing. In general we didn't like this hotel. This was the first time experience staying in Comfort Inn.
Friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.
Nothing not to like unless being within walking distance to downtown Blacksburg is important.
The staff was great, so helpful.
It's time to clean the rugs!
The htoel was close to VA Tech and a good price.
We never could get the Wi-Fi to work
Quiet rooms. Large size rooms
Not much of a lounge.
Front desk folks in the evening were very nice, capable, welcoming. Free Wi-Fi was nice, but slow. :) Beds, linens and pillows were very comfortable. My 13 year old son loved the waffles. Scrambled eggs and sausage were very basic, but just what I needed.
Noticed a few places where dresser drawers were coming apart USA Today would have been nice, but not a necessity. Having floors without ice machine or vending machine is a small inconvenience
the late checkout and offer of breakfast
the proximity to the college campus--the info led one to believe that the facility was just off the college grounds.
Very flexible given that I was only supposed to have been there a day, but they were able to help me out with the rate. Great service.
Everyone was very nice but I had called days earlier to add a second night to my one night reservation, I was given a conf #. When we arrived I noticed the sheet said I was checking out the next day. That was an error. We had to leave the hotel the next morning because they didn't reserve my 2nd night, event though I had a confirmation#? That's when I learned confirmation numbers mean nothing. It was an extremely busy week, as it was college week at VaTech. They did find us another hotel but it was very inconvenient. We live an 8 hr drive away so going home was not an option, too late to drive that night. They were nice but whoever booked my 2nd night was incompetent. I always book online, except this one time I needed to add a night, by phone. I will never do that again, I will always book online, even changes. I learned my lesson, sometimes a machine is more reliable than a human being.
Breakfast was standard, but good. Room was clean and well stocked.
Fridge and Microwave are nice, but with today's electronic gear, you have to give us more than one outlet. Outlets at bedside table would have been a big plus.
the staff were very friendly and approachable.I couldn't find the hotel on the first night and spoke to Alan who was very reassuring and helpful. Throughout my stay Kirstin (who always seemed to be there !) was lovely - so helpful and friendly and kind. For the price it was all fine and I would stay there again if visiting Blacksburg
I thought the room was a little smelly - maybe pets? and I would like to have been able to open the window. it was not clean on the first night - dusty table and not hoovered well - I found a pen under my bed and an ear plug! Uek. One bedside lamp didn't work and was not fixed whilst we stayed despite reporting it.
The breakfast buffet was well stocked. The hotel was next to a good, inexpensive Mexican restaurant. The staff was very helpful and attentive.
Full Breakfast stocked even though we were near the end of the timing. Efficient staff
Excessively dusty around the edge of the carpet where the wall met. Crevice tool would have been well placed there.
Traveled with a dog. Asked for a first floor room a few days ahead of time. Got a room on the 4th floor!!
way too high price for this. add $20 and get a better hotel, or save $35-40 and stay somewhere else (as we did the next evening)
Location was good.
Thin walls and doors that connect to adjacent rooms that allow you to hear everything.
the bed was comfortable
the place was not run well. the floors were not clean in the common areas. the hall was filled with cleaning and laundry bins open for guest to step around. did not have a professional appearance. the breakfast was cheap and not good quality food. the breakfast tables were not wiped down from the prior guest (I think from the day before).
Room (and king-size bed) were quite large for the price. Well-equipped with amenities like iron and full-sized ironing board, hair-dryer, large-screen TV, etc. Friendly, mostly helpful staff.
It's a long way from downtown Blacksburg/Virginia Tech. The local bus system rarely (if ever) goes that far out, Blacksburg taxi service is very iffy. If you don't have a car, I'd stay downtown.
