Howard Johnson Inn Salinas  

Great spot for an overnight. I was really surprised how nice the rooms were. The carpet was really the only thing that let the room down. Bathroom and room was clean and comfortable. Perfect for a couple of nights if stopping over.

This is a business or family stopover location. Good if you have a car as the town lends itself to needing a car to get around. Other than that awesome.

Over priced considering it is so old, however supply and demand dictates pricing and as it's close to Monterey they exploit this matter. Breakfast room cramped.

I loved how comfortable the bed, pillows, and bedding were. The room was decent sized and had nice finishings including cable with an actual cable box. The room was nice and clean and didn't have any funny smells. The staff was also very welcoming.

The only thing is Salinas is just a bad city. The hotel was the only nice thing from my trip. I thought the cost was a tad high.

Arrived late in to the evening great place to sleep. Very clean and close to the freeway.

Room was pricey due to Concourse event but among cheaper options. For $219 I expected better accommodations though. Room smelled of smoke, carpet was wet in bathroom area, safety was a concern given doors were accessible to public and not in a great /safe location, room faced busy street and so was noisy, and bed had only a thin blanket and was cold at night.

The building looked pretty funny and I liked that the high speed internet was actually faster than the internet at my own home.

The room was a little small and we needed way more soap and shampoo since we have long hair and we really like to take baths. The breakfast room could have been a little larger since the motel was completely full and everyone comes in at like the same time, plus the breakfast room opens at 6:30 and closes at 9:00, who wakes up that early on a vacation?

Comfy bed. Clean.

I liked that i asked for extra pillows and were in the room when i checked in to the hotel. The bed was very comfortable had a goodnight sleep even though it was a queen size.

I was expecting the tub to be a bit bigger
