I couldn't even take a shower! The shower was so disgusting I didn't even want to step into it!
Not one thing other than waking up to snow.

This visit left me with a room that was just way below standards that are normally better here at this facility. Frequency should earn point or better discounts just as lengthy stays do; I've been here for many visits.
The staff really tries to be courteous.

The room I was assigned to had a lingering smell of cigarette smoke, perhaps from someone standing with the door open. Maybe a special smoking area can be crafted so smokers can have a decent place to sit and smoke so it doesn't drift back into the rooms. Pets should be under control of owners at all times; a leash dragging the ground behind the pet doesn't keep the pet from running off and doing whatever.
The staff was nice and cooperative to an additional need I had; I'm grateful for the attentiveness.

Everything was great except the barking dog! He bark all night, as was still barking, prior to the General manager coming in on morning shift. But when I explain the situation, Mr. Edward Clayton took very good care of me!!! :-) :-) He gave me a free night, considering the fact that I had no sleep, and he took care of the dog problem. Thank you, extended stay america, All of the staff members are very friendly, and my room was always clean,

Old and not well maintained. The bathroom was not clean and even the no smoking rooms smell of cigarette smoke.
Ease of check in and check out!

Waited 25 minutes for assistance at check-in. No security cameras covering parking lot - $3200+ damage done to my vehicle by another guest! Bathroom sink missing stopper. Bathroom faucet missing aerator. Commode tank leaking, water constantly running.
Kitchen facilities. Location convenient to Duke Univ.

Being August in North Carolina, the weather was very hot and humid. The first room they gave me the AC wasn't generating any cold air. The second room the doors on the cabinets were so poorly hung (not close to plumb) that you couldn't close them because the edges overlapped thus blocking each door. There was a leak under the bathroom sink. The floor in the bathroom under the shelf that ran wall to wall not been swept or mopped, showing a substantial accumulation of trash and dust from previous guests. There is no insulation in the walls thus the sound from TV's easily carried through the walls, late at night. They failed to inform their guests that they were re-roofing the 3-story building. The parking spaces next to the rooms were all roped off and the roofing crews and their noisy trucks and work starting at 8am. I asked one of the room cleaning people if I could have another packet of coffee for the next morning. She said she's bring another by the room but never did. All in all, shameful. A very bad experience.
