Room was musty and had the smell of an old tired facility.Room had a leaking toilet that ran constantly. I would look for a bigger, newer hotel/motel for my next trip. Disappointed that a nation brand motel had such poor facilities.
Very overpriced, noisy,and needs updating
Location! So close to the wharf and board walk...trolly stop right there too!
Room abit small...a little older motel...no pool.
Location, breakfast room, accommodating staff, hot tub, quiet.
Breakfast could use more healthful options (Raisin Bran cereal, whole wheat bread, granola, apples and oranges. Otherwise, it was good.
Left my phone in a cab and they wouldn't let me use the phone to call out because he had a San Jose number. Couldn't dial out in the room nor would they let me use the lobby phone. They sent me to the payphone in front of the lobby that I'm sure they knew was out of order. then they sent me to the wharf across the street to the next payphone which didn't exist. Oddly, the restaurant Ideal Bar, whom i didn't pay $215, gladly let me use their phone. Its a good spot for the location, it's run down, the light in the bathroom was exposing the ceiling, the racks were falling off and looks like most of the stuff was done half ...I wouldn't pay that much again just due to the fact that they wouldn't let me make a phone call.
The room was very clean and had a great view of the ocean.
We were coming in for a funeral and about 3 hours into the drive I received a phone call from the hotel. I was driving so I didn't pick up. When we stopped I listened to the message which was the HoJo staff checking up on us to see when we would be in. I erased the message and tried to call back but was connected to a fax machine. Now I am still several hours away and I presume they are calling to see if we are still coming so they can give our room away. I broke all traffic laws getting there because I did not want to be without a shower available the day of my fiancees mothers funeral. Long story short, the phone call to see when people are going to be at your hotel is not helpful. We also asked for a late check out so we could have time to shower and find breakfast. 15 minutes before the regular check out time the front desk called our room and hung up. Then 30 minutes later we had someone pounding on the door to get us out of there. It was very evident that the hotel couldn't wait to get us out of there and were dying to re-sell our room before we got there. Not conducive to a somber event.
It was close to board walk
It was a small room
Location, breakfast, staff willing to help
small room and bathroom
good location & price
incredibly small room with a few maintenance isues.
Good hot tub good location
Room was quite small
The location was great because of the view
The staff are so rude, they do not give you any privacy and they only act nice when you pay them and plus the type of that we got was not worth the price. It looked like a cheap motel so I don't understand why that spot cost more than most spots like south beach,Miami.
Breakfast selection was good. We especially liked making waffles with their already made batter.
$200+ /night for an $89.95 quality room on a weeknight. I guess being two blocks from the wharf with a decent view had something to do with that. A little noisy being right off west cliff drive. Oh well, we still had a good time.
quiet breakfast room, close to activities, fairly unobstructed view of ocean
no pool, sparse amenities for holiday pricing
great location. good view. reasonable pricing. good on-site parking.
Thin walls. terrible towels.
How close it was to everything. It was a short walk to the wharf andthe Boardwalk.
I thought it was a little pricey for what you got. Beds are full size not queen and the breakfast could have more options.
The people were very helpful
The jucuzzi was old and the internet service was very bad unless you were very close to office
Really close to the beach, Neary Lagoon, the Boardwalk and Downtown Santa Cruz.
towel bars fell off both rooms frig rocked when opening I could go on
Great location right in the centre.
Breakfast buffet was never replenished and even with an hour still to go before breakfast finished there was nothing left to eat!
Location to Wharf
I was bitten by fleas as soon as we entered the room. The furnishing are worn, the curtains torn, crows roost in the trees nearby are so noisy at sunset, ruins any peace and quiet. Toilet stopped up, towels bar is falling off, carpet is worn through, floor creaks, safe was broken and soiled bed linens, smelled of Clorox and curry ( ? ) wow what a stinky combination. They nickel and dime you on parking. Avoid at all costs.
The air conditioning worked fast.
The jacuzzi bath was tiny not made for a couple. We had to unnecessarily wait to check in. We had wanted to check in a couple hours early and we had to wait. The provided breakfast was poor quality and cheap food
Could better the breakfast
