Just a quick walk to the beach / boardwalk. When the breakfast was stocked it was with a variety of food.
The breakfast wasn't stocked often enough / had to wait / ask for food. The staff were slow and didn't seem happy to be there, the mini fridge was loud when we were trying to sleep.
The only thing I liked was the location I booked a room with a Jacuzzi tub for the sole purpose of Jacuzzi tub it when I got there they said it wasn't available then I had to wait to get an upgraded room so all in all not good
The fact that I pay top dollar to get a room with good minute is that I wanted and I didn't receive it
Excellent location. Walking distance to wharf and boardwalk.
It rained during our stay and either there are no rain gutters or the existing gutters had a leak. The water was dripping on the air conditioning unit outside the window making a loud noise throughout the night.
Room was clean but smallish.
desk clerk. Also, refreshing of breakfast foods as they diminished left something to be desired. Long wait time before coffee refilled, etc. At least, staff in breakfast area was pleasant.
Proximity to Wharf area
We liked that it was walking distance to the wharf and boardwalk, if you had a wheelchair I would not recommend since it sits on a hill.
The room smelled stale. The contential breakfast was decent but had fly tape sitting on top of the microwave.
Breakfast was poor, coffee not good. Staff was not welcome
Location excellent nice views over wharf. Good choice breakfast. Good value for money. Easy parking
I liked how quiet it was and how friendly the staff was. Even gave us late check out so we could organize our van before hitting the road. I also would like to say that eventhough this is a non smoking hotel they do have a nice area outside to smoke which is really awsome considering most places make you smoke off property
There Jacuzzi tub in room sounded like a jet engine when running
I really enjoyed the fact they had everything in the kitchen. Pots, pans, utensils that was a surprise for us. also during around 10 or so we had to go to Walmart and something happened and were not allowed back into the hotel parking lot by the local police. Called the night manager and she was so kind as to allow us to come up the way you go down and she made sure noone came down while we went up, that was really nice of her.
The beds stated queen but seemed more like full beds me and my granddaughter barely fit comfortable.
Customer service, no smoking rooms
Bed was comfortable . Room was clean with a nice little patio looking over the beach.
Parking was across the street and seagulls left presents on car.
We booked last minute on Labor Day weekend in Santa Cruz near the wharf so I expected the price... But what I booked was a King bed with spa bath so my expectation was luxurious...we were "UPGRADED" to a small room with a king bed and a tiny ( no spa) bath... When I questioned this upgrade, I was told that we were given a room with a view and that the original room was even smaller!!!! If the original room was smaller with no view, it was really a rip off at $270 plus plus plus to the tune of $301! We will surely never stay there again!!! The room was clean but I was so annoyed at the price/value that I could hardly sleep.. The parking was ridiculous !!! Never again!!!!
Right near the beach boyee!
Price...we booked last minute for a busy weekend when most other places were booked...probably more reasonable other times and if booked earlier...p.s. don't waste your money on the "view" rooms
Room was musty and had the smell of an old tired facility.Room had a leaking toilet that ran constantly. I would look for a bigger, newer hotel/motel for my next trip. Disappointed that a nation brand motel had such poor facilities.
Very overpriced, noisy,and needs updating
proximity to pier
musty smelling room old furniture, carpet, etc. breakfast was poor able to charge a lot because of location certainly not hotel itself
Location! So close to the wharf and board walk...trolly stop right there too!
Room abit small...a little older motel...no pool.
Location was perfect
There was a bike race and the road was closed until 12 pm. Staff did not let us know there might be a problem when we asked to arrive early
Location, breakfast room, accommodating staff, hot tub, quiet.
Breakfast could use more healthful options (Raisin Bran cereal, whole wheat bread, granola, apples and oranges. Otherwise, it was good.
Left my phone in a cab and they wouldn't let me use the phone to call out because he had a San Jose number. Couldn't dial out in the room nor would they let me use the lobby phone. They sent me to the payphone in front of the lobby that I'm sure they knew was out of order. then they sent me to the wharf across the street to the next payphone which didn't exist. Oddly, the restaurant Ideal Bar, whom i didn't pay $215, gladly let me use their phone. Its a good spot for the location, it's run down, the light in the bathroom was exposing the ceiling, the racks were falling off and looks like most of the stuff was done half ...I wouldn't pay that much again just due to the fact that they wouldn't let me make a phone call.
The room was very clean and had a great view of the ocean.
We were coming in for a funeral and about 3 hours into the drive I received a phone call from the hotel. I was driving so I didn't pick up. When we stopped I listened to the message which was the HoJo staff checking up on us to see when we would be in. I erased the message and tried to call back but was connected to a fax machine. Now I am still several hours away and I presume they are calling to see if we are still coming so they can give our room away. I broke all traffic laws getting there because I did not want to be without a shower available the day of my fiancees mothers funeral. Long story short, the phone call to see when people are going to be at your hotel is not helpful. We also asked for a late check out so we could have time to shower and find breakfast. 15 minutes before the regular check out time the front desk called our room and hung up. Then 30 minutes later we had someone pounding on the door to get us out of there. It was very evident that the hotel couldn't wait to get us out of there and were dying to re-sell our room before we got there. Not conducive to a somber event.
It was close to board walk
It was a small room
