Staff friendly, OK rooms
My room didn't get cleaned until after 5pm, if at all. Last day there, no hot water. Toilet didn't work right in my sons' room.
it was difficult because it is named howard johnson, while online and in the pictures it appears as hotel shalimar.
Free WiFi was the best part. Our stay was ok not to noisy.
Room smelled like smoke right when we got in and the bathroom as well. Carpet felt nasty to walk on. The bed was hard and uncomfortable. Not many channels to watch on T.V. So not worth the price we paid.
nothing that was likeable
every thing in the hotel and its staff
had everything one would need.
Got to our room air conditioner did not work they moved us to a nicer room and wanted to charge us 100.00$ extra!!!
Liked the fact that there was a restaurant in the lobby, but it was closed. No food for us.
It was the dirtiest place I have stayed. I found dead bugs in the bathroom. The coffeemaker was absolutely grotesque and I love coffee, but would never use that machine on a dare. The bathroom was filthy and it smelled. I have no idea what was on the walls, but it was sickening. The heater was broken and right in the face of whoever got stuck by it as it was next to the headboard. There were stains on the bedding and we had to take it off. But it was so dirty we sat sleeping up. We were on our honeymoon, after not having one for two years because we were working and had not had vacation time. It was horrible. The towels were so small, I asked for more, and never got them. I had to go to the local Walgreens and buy towels. People fighting in the next room, and the paperthin walls let us hear the entire thing, It was just so dirty and filthy that it was not enjoyable at all. I am so disappointed that this is my first memory of our first trip together as a family. I am traumatized over this experience.
I liked the late check out time. it was quiet, away from the busy part of strip. if your looking to get married, this location is right next to most wedding chappels. it is also walking distance from pawn stars tv show location.
I did not like the fact I could not make change at hotel.
I made a reservation for a non smoking room and called to confirm my request. I was given a smoking room anyway when I checked in late evening. It took me for more than 30 minutes to negotiate with front desk staff to obtain a non smoking room. The room is not clean and the bath room needs to repair.
The Cuba restaurant was good but was not open the first morning of our stay. The people on the front desk was nice.
The location was bad, had to drive everywhere, even to eat.. Did not like the parking, the room were noisy hear the people upstairs and in the hallways, and the floor in the bath needed to be cleaned better.
The fact that it was easy to find
That the heater blew right in my face
Not enough working electric outlets. Had to connect TV to restroom outlet. Had to connect Coffee maker to lamp outlet. Need to update facilities.
Was the cheapest room in town on new years eve.
Mattress was covered with a giant plastic bag. Sounded like you were sleeping on a bag of potato chips. Slap and dash remodel. Too far to walk any where good. Run down part of town. $25.00 cab ride to the middle of the strip.
In side of room
We were greeted with a welcome and found HOJO very clean and comfortable. The location is great.
The staff were accomodating and helpful.
The location was in a very very poor rundown area of the Las Vegas Strip.
The bed was rock hard, felt like we were sleeping on a box spring
The beds are terrible. The room was tiny, the tv was old and bad reception.Overall terrible experiance
Great staff and location near downtown. Easy bus route to anywhere in the city.
TV is out dated.
Room was could definitely use updates. Old carpet, old tv and furniture. Restoom was outdated.
ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! You didn't do dare leave ur vehicle unattended, much less go to sleep for fear of being invaded upon to be robbed, raped, and only the Lord knows what else.
EVERYTHING! My wife.traveled for years with her family and was just.telling me how beautiful and luxurious they were while we were on our way to it, when we got there I was seriously afraid of my wife have a coronary over this dump being able to call themselves a Howard Johnson's! I you care for ur business ratings at all you would that one off your list.
I ended up leaving. The place was run down, extra locks on the doors, not nec. dirty but feels dirty, the balconies are open to everyone, not private. I didn't feel safe or comfortable so I worked out staying in the living room of a friends apt. instead.
Unlike other hotels in Las Vegas this hotel is put together very well. Far as my opinion, I don't like hotels with a lot if people and i am the type who likes quite in which I was extremely happy that the Howard Johnson was just perfect with a few people. Really perfect vacation place if you like full rest at night in perfect silence. It is always quite here. Everyone is really friendly. They have a wonderful food restaurant and café in front. My room was perfect. They're Pet Friendly. In my opinion Howard Johnson Is by far another favorite here in Las Vegas.
