Needed a refrigerator in my room and I was promptly delivered one. Front desk staff were very pleasant.
The hotel is getting run down. The stairwells were dirty. Cigarette buts all over. Even though I had a non smoking room you can smell cigarette smoke in the hallways. The carpet in the room was dirty. I won't be staying at this hotel again.
It was the worst night of sleep I've ever had. I was genuinely scared for my life. The doors and walls were paper thin, so you could hear everyone yelling all night. The room was filthy. It was a nonsmoking room, and still reeked of smoke. The sheets, covers, blinds, all had burn holes in them. The dresser did not open or close because it was broken. Then we couldn't sleep because someone kept calling our room and hanging up as soon as I would answer. They probably called us over 12 times. I called the front desk about it, and she didn't know what to do about it, so her manager would call us back. They did not call us back, and I was left feeling unsafe. Not to mention the elevator didn't have an inspection paper anywhere, and sounded like it was going to come off the hinges. I'll never stay at any Howard Johnson ever again.
its nice to have one but a naked man in there is bull
naked man in tub with kids in area
everyone was pleasant and polite I've stayed here before and have always liked the conveinence of having stores near by as well as restaurants...
I arrived on Thursday the 18th of September and there was a mix up on the room, but it was quickly resolved. Only thing was that the cleaning lady did not make my bed in the time I was there. I had to ask for tissues and clean towels..Other than that I've no real complaints and plan on staying there again next time I visit my boyfriend
The Front Desk Clergyman
EVERYTHING, The Carpets, The Bedding, The Air Inside, The Outside Of The Hotel Omg It Was TRASH Just The Trashiest Place! I Felt I'd Get Sick From The Bed Sheets, It's Old And Outdated Smells Of 1945 And Tobacco When Men Didn't Brush Their Teeth And Chewed Tar
It's off 95 . Location was very convenient
Every thing is old, smelling.even the bed sheets had holes in it
Friendly and helpful
wi-fi was wimpy
The room didn't feel clean. The carpet and bedding was very worn.
great and friendly staff
construction site next to hotel
The king size mattress should be a little more firmer
Room was exceptionally clean and quiet. Being on the 5th floor meant I had almost zero outside noise. Elevator worked, that’s a plus. Heating and cooling was spot on. Had I needed a fridge it was there. Bathroom was clean with fresh towels.
While trying to get into the building I had to go around someone cleaning there car and dodge a bunch of rug rats. This gave me a very sketchy feeling upon first impression. It made it seem like they had weekly/monthly guests and that drives me away from staying at a hotel as people like this tend to know the security and rip off items from cars. Overall though I would not say that I would not stay again as I will, but the HoJo's staff needs to police situations like this and keep them away from doors leading into the building.
The heated indoor pool was great, BUT it needs to be cleaned badly!! It was kinda greenish and murky.
The floors were yucky. Burn marks all over the carpets, cigarettes behind the nightstands (housekeeping obviously doesn't clean behind stuff), and I didn't like that even though I needed a non smoking room, when I walked out my door ALL I could smell was cigarette smoke all down the hall. No air conditioning in the halls either. There was only ONE luggage cart too so when I was ready to pack up with my newborn daughter, we had to wait about 20 minutes until it was available for use.
Location, good eating places.
The accommodations were Terrible.
That it was close to other hotels, food places and the highway!!!
That the pool was closed two days out of the four days we were told that we would be compensated, however I still haven't heard from the manager, whom was never on site. But I will never stay at this Howard Johnson again... no sir!!!
The staff was very friendly
There was hair in the bed, cigarettes burns marks all over the furniture, the bathroom was dirty, it smells.I will never go back to that hotel it's more like motel.
Elevator smelled like old piss
Close proximity to Yale University.
There were roaches in the room, therefore we had to vacate our stay. I would of appreciated a full refund, but only received a partial. Needless to say, this put a sour thought in my mind with booking.com and Howard Johnson.
Overall the place was ok.... Needs a lot of stuff that has to be upgraded... Like sheets were nasty looking all stained and one not.... Place smelled nasty & people smoking in areas that were for non-smokers... I really wasn't happy with the stay due to place dirty!
The place is in terrible condition. Things in the room were broken or torn.
never do it again !
Nothing the place was nasty and run down
Everything location was horrible there wad pubic hairs all over the bathroom outlets with no covers it was horrible
nothing this hotel was horrible, I went with my family and kids I was disustting
when I arrive to the hotel was people smoking inside the hotel, dogs, and when I finally enter to the room was discustting dogs pup on floor, beds was dirty with eye lashes behind the beds, hairs means really dirty I ask for money back right away bad I travel 2 hours to get to the hotel thanks God I find another hotel right away cuz I not I would sleep in the car with a newborn baby really sad, really bad experience
For a cheap one night stay no frills - this was ok
Wifi was horrible. Room and property in general were in obvious need of renovation
I liked the price because this was an emergency booking, the marble in the registration area, the refrigerator in the room, the free Wi-Fi.
I did not like the smell of cigarettes in the hallway and elevator on the way to my non-smoking room. There was a faint smell of cigarettes in my room not due to outside smoking, but from the bed sheets. They do not keep the bedding separate from smoking and non-smoking rooms. I don't care what they wash the bed sheets in or how often, you cannot get that smell out. The wall paper is peeling and stained. The shower curtain had a black stain on it in the shape of a road-killed squirrel. There were clumps of dust on the vents in the bathroom.
