Howard Johnson Inn Jamaica JFK Airport    

I liked that there was a shuttle bus to and from the airport.

At the time of check in, there was a gentlemen who worked at front desk who was talking about his recent experience there. He was saying that he got stood up a couple times by a guy with a gun. Hearing that as soon as I checked in didn't make me feel secure at all, I had to double think about my reservation. That same night I barely slept because of my discomfort in the hotel. There was a lot of noise of the floor I was staying on as well as smoking. Someone was smoking marihuana and it was very strong come through the door cracks. There were people in the hall way talking loud, needless to say I barely slept. I had an early flight the next morning and wasn't well rested at all. Probably slept about 2 hours.

The Howard Johnson Inn was conveniently located close to the JFK Airport. The Staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were very good for the price paid. The Airport Shuttle was great. We were late for the shuttle pick-up due to our flight. The shuttle driver made the effort to turn around and come and pick us up, eventhough it was past the shuttle time.

Noisy Hallways. Breakfast area should be cleaned up a bit.

Called for the bus to pickus up at the airport They put us on hold fo 20 minutes Had to tke a cab and cost me $20.

The girl on the desk was good and when we left was good and helpful

Room was nice and convenience of shuttle was good. Thermostat was functional for temp control and thins appeared very clean.

Although the rooms were clean and nice, the hallway, was stained and old, There were chips on the floor of the elevator and the place where breakfast was served was dingy, old and creepy looking. I did not stay for breakfast. People outside were loud late into the night.

They don't clean room every day, I give instruction, even after that they don't clea & change.

The staff were rude and not interested, they were talking to their friends and wanted to go home. They did not listen to that fact I had a reservation and refused to accpet a copy fo the booking .com confirmation. They charged me the full walk in prcie for my rooms. The hotel itself was very noisy and appeared to be in the local prostitutes distict as there were cars pulling up all night and constand shouting and loud music. The Kitchen area seems to be used a doss house during the night with constant noise and people. I wouldl never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Close to JFK Airport; free shuttle service to JFK. Taxi is around $ 15,-. Value for money. Quick food delivery by several take outs nearby.

We were advised by the cab driver who brought us to the hotel to not walk around in the neighborhood at night. Don't stay here for a longer period, it's alright for one night before/after your flight. Old, basic interior, but it was okay. Simple breakfast, but okay.

I was glad that the hotel is close to the airport and the hotel services including drop off at the airport was excellent.

The fact that guest have to pay separately for the internet if you do not have a computer with you. It should be made that if you have access as a guest to use wifi free with your personal PC, you should also be given about 1 hour per day to be able to use the hotel computer to browse if you are without your laptop or other device.

Staff was extremely unfriendly. Although they offer a free shuttle to the hotel, it is disastrous. I had to wait for 50 minutes, made phone calls three times. The staff kept telling me that the shuttle is coming soon. However, it turned out that the shuttle only departed from the hotel after I have been waiting it for 40 minutes. No one apologized. The answer I got from the staff was that "it sometimes happens". Breakfast maid was also very unfriendly and unkind. The room was dirty. I will never go to that hotel again, and I encourage my fellow travelers not to go there.

I had to wait the shuttle service for almost an hour and had to call them 3 times to pick me up.. And the girl in the reception just gave me a simple apology, I won't go to this hotel again and would not go if I were you..

The staff was very friendly and had a good knowledge of what # metro buses to take and how to get where on the metro buses.

Dangerous Neighborhood

The location was close to JFK. The room was basic but functional. Bathroom has just been re done and we had a quiet part of the hotel. They had free wifi, breakfast and shuttle to the airport, all easy to organize. We arrived just before midnight and lEft at 9 am so for us , under $80 was a good bargain with breakfast.

There was some confusion when we checked in about whether or not we had a booking but when I provided our confirmation number it was straightened out.

Convenience to the Airport and the friendliness of the check-in & out staff.

The place needs to be upgraded. It's basically a dump, The furniture in our room was falling apart. Thank God we only had to spend one night there.

Price and location

Dark, dim, outdated and a bit dirty, the bedspreads were stained. Only 2 paper cups were provided for all drinking needs.

The fact that we booked in for three night but we could not get there the first night our plane broke down and we had to stay in Atlanta overnight. But we were still charged for it even though we telephoned to tell them of our situation
