It was our first time visiting New York City, and we couldn't have been happier. The hotel staff was exceptionally helpful and pleasant with any inquiries we may have had. Comfort, cleanliness, location; The hotel overall was great! We would definitely consider the Howard Johnson SoHo Hotel for our future travels.
The Howard Johnson in Soho is almost in right in the heart of Soho with great places to eat on the your doorstep, subway stations no more than 5 minutes walk. The rooms are small but spotless - clean, modern and staff very friendly and really helpful! We enjoyed our stay, would recommend to anyone and would definitely stay again!
The wifi connection was up and down but it wasn't really an issue.
Clean and all you need, well priced for Manhatten.
The hotel located between two bus stops making it appear to be in a seedy area.
The breakfast has given me the worst breakfast experience in my entire hotel experience. I would recommend to increase the quality of food in terms of healthier and less chemical choice.
Awesome hotel. Definitely would recommend staying here.
Small room. But it is New York city
Complimentary breakfast was good
Smallest room I have ever stayed and still expensive. Not located in a nice area of the city. Only one subway (F train) close by. Parking adds to the cost.
Small rooms, no iron, not much extra toilet paper in the rooms
Perfect for just few days in NY.staff very kind and fast
Friendly and very helpful staff going out of their way to help. All necessary amenities available, great location in Chinatown and SOHO, next to citibike station and close to subway. Clean and convenient.
very small rooms, but this is location imminent
Good location, very friendly, breakfast very good
WiFi poor in room but very good in the rest of the hotel. Some hairs in the towel.
Hotel's facilities are really good, such as bathroom, bed, and Wifi.
1. Location. because of located in China town, the street along this hotel is really dirty and bad smell. And night is dangerous. I strongly recommend females not to stay this hotel. 2. Noisy. I could clearly hear the chatting of neighborhood.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was varied and healthy.
Location Staff WiFi included Rooms Bed Subway was 2 min walk away
Staff very friendly and helpful, small room, but immaculately prepared. Great view. Good informaton from front desk on tours, though make sure the info on the Grey Line Hop On Hop Off bus is current.
Although the hotel is not close to the more "touristic" areas of Manhattan, we had some great walks in the neighborhood and discovered several excellent restaurants with the help/suggestions of the excellent service at the front desk. We will definitely stay in this hotel again and do more exploring in Chinatown and Little Italy.
I liked the bed very much, it was awesome. The room was a little bit small but it was in 9th floor and I had a view of Brooklyn Bridge. The staff were friendly.
The only thing that I didn't like was the neighborhood.
location, service, cleanness, comfort, Wi-Fi and good value. It's a very safe area to go about at night and many options to fill up an empty stomach. If the various Chinese foods wear you out, walk 15min up Allen street and you'd come to East Village, where a wide range of culinary lures are available.
location -- some might be put off by the trash on the street and the occasional smell from stores. but you can also perceive that as part of the Chinatown charm... The hotel itself is spotless.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone. I liked the location and how close it is to the subway to all of New York, Little Italy, Soho and East Village. The rooms were bigger than expected, with comfy beds, air conditioning, free wifi, large enough bathroom, tea/coffee making facilities, large TV and great views from the 9th Floor. Excellent free and varied breakfast. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. I would definitely stay there again.
Nicest staff very friendly clean and quiet location. I will return
Hotel is in brand new condition. Very nice, Hotel is close to Manhattan & Brooklyn Bridge. Nice view 4 of July fire works. Close walking distance to the subway station.
Located in china town, not nice to walk around. Bad smells around china town.
The front desk staff, especially Lina, were friendly, obliging and helpful and could not be faulted. This made for a very pleasant stay for us.
Very positive experience on all counts. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well-kept. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. In addition, the location was convenient.
Personal is really good
The hotel has been recently refurbished to a high standard. Our room (on the 10th floor) was small but smart, clean & had all we needed. Staff throughout were great - really helpful & keen to help. Location is great for downtown.
The hotel is in Chinatown so has all the hussle & bustle of a busy trading area. No problem for us though. We stayed in June '14. The breakfast area & roof terrace were due to be renewed. This will improve things as the public areas are a bit cramp at present.
The helpful attitude, frequent cleaning
The breakfast was nothing special
