Away from the train noises. Quiet and inexpensive. Clean.
Breakfast just minimal. No real coffee in the room. Wish they had do not disturb signs.
The dining area was spacious and welcoming. The hot tub area was bright and open. The location was close to shopping and the bypass.
The bed was a little too hard for my liking. Had a hard time sleeping.
Room was comfortable, clean and a great value for the money. Perfect choice if you're not interested in high luxury.
I love the location of Hotel Ruby Ponderay--it's just around a couple of corners from my son's apartment (the whole reason for my trip is to spend a week with my son) and when I leave at 6am to head home I just have to turn left and head south to Coeur d'Alene. No twisting around Ponderay or Sandpoint to get out of town. It's all straight forward. I also really appreciate the staff. Housekeeping kept me loaded up with regular coffee (leaving the decaf on their carts) and whenever I needed something from the front desk it was always provided with a smile and a healthy dose of efficiency! I also liked the emails checking up on my reservation, prior to my arrival, and the email thanking me for my stay once I got home.
The single bed rooms are really, really tiny--so, if you want spread-out room, choose a two bed room. The lighting in the bathroom is poor so I was reduced to blow drying my hair and applying mascara in the bedroom area. Not a huge hardship, but it struck me as weird. The single bed rooms also do not have the mini fridge that the two bed rooms have (but, seriously, where would you put one?), so plan accordingly--fortunately, I travel in the fall, so I can leave things that need to stay cool in the trunk of my car. The trash outside the door--and the ash trays--was not emptied all week. Kind of gross, even for a smoker like me.
It was in Sandpoint area
1. At registration, after paying, you get a formal letter informing you that wifi in your room is only a courtesy and not guaranteed. 2. Staff is loud, talking and drinking coffee together as a great place to visit. Extremely unprofessional thoughout the day. 3. Laundry room is open to breakfast area and lounge, staff keeps the door wide open from dawn to dusk so as to visit easier, while the guests listen to them and the washers and dryers spin. Cannot hear yourself think, much less watch a few minutes of am news on the lounge tv while having breakfast. Rude. 3. Cannot walk past the desk to the other side of the bed when the desk chair is being used. Have to slide over the bed..good grief. 4. Do not have shear curtains as well as black outs, so you either keep them drawn and dark in the room, or your room is completely open to the parking lot and no privacy whatsoever. All rooms are like this. 5. Will never use this brand again.
Location was good
The efficient staff, the quiet room, the breakfast
I found the hotel clean and the breakfast was good; overall a positive experience
The staff was welcoming and friendly. They were helpful and knowledgible. Everything was very clean.
Room was clean Staff nice Decent breakfast
Great staff, comfortable room, all around great place to stay!
We were very happy with our stay. Reasonably priced, friendly staff, small room but clean and nicely furnished. We didn't eat the breakfast only because we were in a hurry.
Room was very comfortable, staff friendly and helpful.
Staff was nice. Room clean. Coffee and breakfast in am. What else can you ask for.
location, helpful staff, needed anything done, fast response with positive attitude to meet our needs.
Hot tub water too heavily chlorinated, made eyes water
Cost of room and basic comfort.
Our phone in room didn't work , no additional toilet paper in room. Back door while it looked operational did not have even working parts. Biggest issue with staff was getting a call during my Silverwood visit telling me I missed checkout time and they would be forced to remove our items if we didn't call back within a short period of time. What Patrick failed to do was look at his daily reservations and noticed that we had additional days with more family in the same ajoining rooms. Basic lacking of knowledge of hotel guest reservations and then entry into our room unauthorized, bad management.
VERY SMALL ROOMS
Good place to stay. Great location. Clean room. Breakfast included. Wonderful staff
Older hotel but not a big deal. It's a place to sleep
Beds were new and very comfortable.
Room size was brutal. Way to small.
Clean rooms, a/c worked well, good size flat panel t/v.
Had to drive to check anything out.
Hot tub was lukewarm and not clean
The room seemed clean enough.
A less than spacious room. The lighting in the bathroom was poor, and there was no fan.
location, breakfast , check in , arrived at 5:30 and the desk clerk had to go to the room to see if it was ready. The desk clerk appeared as the maintenance man the next day?? NOT a three star two maybe regular bed not a queen as advertised
Our room was ground level right by the back door which was very convenient considering we travel with a dog. The room was a great value, new carpet and clean and quiet.
You get what you pay for - the room was very small. Next time I would get a larger room. The addition of granola and yogurt at breakfast would be a plus.
