Everything was adequate.
Had to sign a statement acknowledging that they don't rent rooms by the hour. Is that really necessary? Maybe in THAT neighborhood.
The WiFi would not work!
The shower was awful and the mattresses.
My iron was unusable. There was plastic caked on it and also ironing board. Shower faucet handle was stuck on hot. And the curtains were broken.
When I arrived, the employee said they didn't have my reservation on file as I was showing him my email confirmation, and claimed the hotel was all booked up. After an hour he finally gave me a room in their "sold out" hotel, but it was a room with a messed up toilet. They couldn't find the plunger (the employee was sitting down in the back talking on the phone while "looking for it") and I was forced to walk to the closest hotel because Howard Johnson doesn't have a public restroom. I will stay at that other hotel next time because it was so much nicer and cleaner.

WIFI was almost non-existent.
everything is dirty and scummy. nothing felt ok to touch. checked me into a room already in use. tried to make me pay 6$ more than the booking site which had included taxes already. creepy and stinky all the wiring in room was on a timer
I like the new floors, and the clean sleek appeal of updated interior.
I wish there would've been a coffee maker, or mini fridge, or mini fridge.

Towel roughness due to hard water and bed not very comfortable.
Shower was practically broken, it was super difficult to turn on. And the room smelled like bleach, gave us a headache.
The front desk clerk was very nice and helpful.
The WiFi was HORRIBLE! There were one inch gaps around the door and people were smoking outside. The smoke seeped into the room and I am allergic to the smoke.
Staff is not organize.make us wait to check in because he didn't see our online booking so I have to call customer service and inform me ,they already fax it True it is in their file. very unprofessional! No maintenance on call . Door lock is falling off..main entrance switch not working.one face towel! The room next door keeps banging the door.
I liked that the manager honored my email stating the price I was originally quoted by the Booking.com representative over the phone, instead of the higher/incorrect pricing information forwarded to him by Booking.com.
The room could use some updating.
They offer a Continental breakfast but at 8 am they didn't have coffee or nothing only dry cereal but no milk and the person in charge was on the phone and didn't have a care.
This place looked like a place for homeless to spend the night. I did not feel safe. The Breakfast room was duty. I had to look for napkins and clean the table to eat. no one was there to clean or to ask.
My family and i traveled to San Diego for the weekend and it was pretty booked up due to the Air show and Football game so rooms were filling up quick. So, I picked Howard Johnson's b/c it was listed as a 3.5 star on-line- JOKE. The first 45 mins we are there in our room and my son is stuck in the restroom and we can't get him out. Vick (front desk guy) is calling several people to try and find out what to do, finally he asked my son after 45 mins being stuck and nothing is working; if he could kick down the door, my son did after the 2nd try, cracked the door right down the middle. My son was shaken up by this and disturbed. The room floors were disgusting and the bed sheets had like little blood stains from previous users. I asked if we could have another room and Vick said that they were all sold out. By this time it's already 9:30 pm. Breakfast is to be expected at one of these places, but not enough seating and everyone is cramped up next to one another. Vick was nice enough to put notes out on the computer so when the own came back from his personal commitments he'd try and get us a full refund. My husband and i called the owner and he said that he wouldn't be able to refund us b/c we stayed. The best he could do was give us 10% back which is $12.50??? Really? Poor Service and i'm sure they won't miss my business but if i can detour anyone from going there than i've done my job. If i could download pictures i would!! Very dissatisfied customer. 10/3/14
Apparently booking.com did not send or have my reservation done right so they could not give me the rate I signed up for with booking.com Ended up being double the rate I reserved
There is no wi-fi. Parking is horrible so get there early or park in the street. The paint was peeling from the walls. The deadbolt lock didn't work and I was on the 1st floor.
Room dirty and run down, sink broken, gaps on front door, 1st room smelled like smoke.
I did not like one thing about this hotel...it's location maybe was the only positive.
The service. Employees were nice.
The beady breakfast, the fuzzy picture from the TV, the moldy odor coming from the air conditioner. The microwave burned the popcorn.
