Staff friendly and helpful.
Towel roughness due to hard water and bed not very comfortable.
Shower was practically broken, it was super difficult to turn on. And the room smelled like bleach, gave us a headache.
The front desk clerk was very nice and helpful.
The WiFi was HORRIBLE! There were one inch gaps around the door and people were smoking outside. The smoke seeped into the room and I am allergic to the smoke.
Staff is not organize.make us wait to check in because he didn't see our online booking so I have to call customer service and inform me ,they already fax it True it is in their file. very unprofessional! No maintenance on call . Door lock is falling off..main entrance switch not working.one face towel! The room next door keeps banging the door.
I liked that the manager honored my email stating the price I was originally quoted by the Booking.com representative over the phone, instead of the higher/incorrect pricing information forwarded to him by Booking.com.
The room could use some updating.
They offer a Continental breakfast but at 8 am they didn't have coffee or nothing only dry cereal but no milk and the person in charge was on the phone and didn't have a care.
This place looked like a place for homeless to spend the night. I did not feel safe. The Breakfast room was duty. I had to look for napkins and clean the table to eat. no one was there to clean or to ask.
My family and i traveled to San Diego for the weekend and it was pretty booked up due to the Air show and Football game so rooms were filling up quick. So, I picked Howard Johnson's b/c it was listed as a 3.5 star on-line- JOKE. The first 45 mins we are there in our room and my son is stuck in the restroom and we can't get him out. Vick (front desk guy) is calling several people to try and find out what to do, finally he asked my son after 45 mins being stuck and nothing is working; if he could kick down the door, my son did after the 2nd try, cracked the door right down the middle. My son was shaken up by this and disturbed. The room floors were disgusting and the bed sheets had like little blood stains from previous users. I asked if we could have another room and Vick said that they were all sold out. By this time it's already 9:30 pm. Breakfast is to be expected at one of these places, but not enough seating and everyone is cramped up next to one another. Vick was nice enough to put notes out on the computer so when the own came back from his personal commitments he'd try and get us a full refund. My husband and i called the owner and he said that he wouldn't be able to refund us b/c we stayed. The best he could do was give us 10% back which is $12.50??? Really? Poor Service and i'm sure they won't miss my business but if i can detour anyone from going there than i've done my job. If i could download pictures i would!! Very dissatisfied customer. 10/3/14
Apparently booking.com did not send or have my reservation done right so they could not give me the rate I signed up for with booking.com Ended up being double the rate I reserved
There is no wi-fi. Parking is horrible so get there early or park in the street. The paint was peeling from the walls. The deadbolt lock didn't work and I was on the 1st floor.
Room dirty and run down, sink broken, gaps on front door, 1st room smelled like smoke.
I did not like one thing about this hotel...it's location maybe was the only positive.
The service. Employees were nice.
The beady breakfast, the fuzzy picture from the TV, the moldy odor coming from the air conditioner. The microwave burned the popcorn.
My room had hair through out both beds and looked like the sheets were never cleaned of changed. It had no wifi and the room door didn't lock!! Most importantly it felt very itchy and possible bed bugs due to the none cleanliness
Was promised WiFi because we were attending a large convention in San Diego. Except for the first day internet connection was down for the entire rest of our 5 day stay We relied on internet to conduct our business before (in AM) and after (in PM). Spent frustrating time there with not even an offer to compensate for our lost business.
I didn't like that the hours for the 'free' breakfast were not posted and ended by 9am
The security lock on the door was missing. The exterior such as the elevator was dirty as well as the parking lot and hallway. In general the hotel was not a good place to stay. If you want people to return after their stay at the hotel, the whole place needs to be overhauled.
Wi-Fi did'nt work
Refrigerator, area of the door know and bottom of door had big gaps. Freezer did not freeze items. Beds were too soft. Wi-Fi was very poor, unable to connect.
The place was dirty and I felt very unsafe! The room was disgusting. There was blood on the walls of the bathroom!! I wanted to leave but we had driven 13 hours and we were very tired. I stacked the chair and all our luggage against the door because we felt it was not a safe place! l did not sleep well and couldn't wait up leave. I will never go there again!
Everything what a rip off this place is horrible
The location was convenient for us, for visiting Sea world, gas lamp district and the outlets on the border. Parking is free and available
This was a decision based on budget and it felt like it since we arrived. The "hotel" doesn't have anything other than a bed and shower tub and a free breakfast which is mainly sugar (jam, pastries, cereal) The cleanliness of the room was acceptable but the hotel generally had a rusty feeling to it.
It was centrally located for what we wanted to see.
The room had mold growing on the ceiling. Had water stains all over the ceilings. The bathroom had paint hanging from the ceiling, like there was a water problem and the paint balloon up. The carpet was torn. The fridge did not have holding bars in the door. There was no working ice machine. People where outside the door making noise until 3:00 AM on several nights. People smoking flick there ashes on the cars.
Pool and hot tub area was very dirty. Room was stuffy. Breakfast ended too early and area was not kept neat. Needed more towels. Noisy.
Being Close to much better and constructurally solid hotels. I was happy to live through the night.
Very old and creepy looking, cracks in all 2' side patios...The hotel patios at the 3rd and 4th floor are a disaster just waiting to cave in.
