The fitness center had a good mix of equipment, although it was a bit small for the number of users
The food at the Water's Edge restaurant was not as good as in the past. We had an evening meal, and the presentation, preparation and service were not quite as good as in previous years when we stayed at the Hyatt Resort in Cambridge.
The waterview was amazing. The food within the resort restaurants was also wonderful. The indoor hot tub extended outside which was a really awesome feature. My husband and I were hot-tubbing in 30 degree weather! We will definitely bring the kids next time. They would love the hayride, smores by the fire and the movie theater pool. Overall this is a lovely getaway option for the whole family.
The bed was quite terrible.
Very nice facility. Has a very corporate feel to it. Not very warm. Restaurant typical American menu. Expensive.
Make you walk too far between you're room and the gym. In your sweaty clothes.
Absolutely magnificent staff!! The facility is so well managed it was apparent in all facets!
the 3 pools were the gems of the resort because we don't golf. There were also numerous areas to lounge and sit in the sun. Also, the area around the hotel was set in nature. The housekeeping service was generally prompt and topnotch. The room was pristine, large and pleasant.
Some of the halls especially those going away from the gift shop toward the resort parking, had a smelly, almost rancid smell. This same smell could be detected outside at various places also near the hotel and outbuildings. It was very unpleasant and offensive smelling. In addition there was nothing I saw in the resort advertising until we arrived that stinging jellyfish inhabited the waters of the river the hotel sits on, making the water risky to swim in. Also, the river water looked dirty. On the walk to the Blue Point Provisional Restaurant, I saw a used condom floating in the water. Along the pier I saw other garbage in the water such as part of an old UPS box. Too bad the town of Cambridge doesn't do something about this unsightly pollution in the river. But as far as what the hotel can do, the rancid smell coming the some of the halls and outdoor areas, disturbed me. I know it wasn't just my nose because I also heard a boy of maybe 10 complaining to his parents about it. My only complaint about the room we stayed in were the beds were overly soft which is difficult to sleep on for backs that need more support. Luckily I did not smell the rancid smell on the 4th floor hallway or room.
Nice location on the water. Staff was friendly and responsive. Golf course was well groomed and fun to play.
For the price we paid, we would have expected a pristine property with upscale dining and amenities. Although this is a nice location, we noticed a lot of cosmetic wear and tear. Rust forming on the gazebo on the pier; missing siding on the front tower; other minor fixes which could easily be fixed, but left one wondering about attention to detail. Double room was two culls vs. two queens. Also, due to weddings, dining rooms only offered buffet, so many customers went out. We had the buffet which was priced reasonably, and decent food, but not what we were thinking of when expecting a gourmet dinner.
