So pretty. Kids loved the penguins in the lobby
Pool area was great
A BIT PRICY FOOD.
Large ocean front room
Overcrowded hotel with incapable personnel. All restaurants were fully booked for New Year's Eve: we ended up with room service and ear plugs to cover the noise of the band at the Pool Party just below. The concierge had failed to answer promptly and accurately to my question 2 months before upon booking my room. Regarding cleanliness be prepared to have your meals surrounded by dozens of birds. Regarding the factory, as in low class hotels, jump at 7.00am to the poolside with your beach towel to book your sun bed for the day ! Of course the hotel rules say otherwise but no one cares... This hotel is totally overpriced and a major disappointment. Hotels in Wailea seemed to be a better option (and sheltered La Perouse Bay is closer for snorkelling...).
The hotel is amazing clean, beautiful. The location is outstanding the beach is great. The pools are awesome.
The price of drinks is very high. They didn't do much for Christmas, we went to the Luau which was fabulous but again the Christmas theme just wasn't there.
Very good location, not far from Whales Village. Beach walk right near hotel and you can take nice walks at evenings. Restaurants and shops are good . Breakfast is also very good.
Beach near hotel is short and narrow. To go from reception to pool with a stroller or for a person with disabilities you have to take a very long path. Also hotel fells like a bit old, although it can be seen that it's been maintained properly.
Room was very nice, ok location 10 minutes to town in car. Lots of wildlife around the hotel, very clean
Very over priced, the pool is far to small for the amount of guests staying there needs updating. You have to fight to get a sunbed or be up at 5.00 am
Staying in Waikiki at a 3 star rating hotel we found the staffing to be alot more helpful and polite then during our 5 star hotel stay at Hyatt Regency Maui.
Hawaii and lobby.
old fashioned room (bathroom, windows are very old and not clean)....
This is a fabulous resort in a fabulous location. Very well maintained, luxurious accommodations. Excellent staff, restaurants, pool (with a grotto bar), pool service, food, luau, and more. We have stayed here several times over the years and they never disappoint.
- Very nice grounds, well kept - Huge pool - Luau show was excellent - Gorgeous view
- Staff was not accommodating to simple requests. Booked a king bed for our honeymoon, was put into a room with a queen and a double. Was told they can't move us. It's our honeymoon! - Breakfast buffet is NOT recommended. $25/person and food quality of a $10 buffet. - Birds everywhere! I understand it's on the ocean but when I'm eating food I don't want birds flying up on the chair next to me and watching me eat. Staff didn't seem to want to help keep hem away. Went to other restaurants off the Hyatt resort and this was not a problem, just at the Hyatt. - Call way ahead for your car if you valet! Takes 10-15 minutes to pull a car around - Happy Hour food was pretty disappointing. Happy hour discounted price was still high for what you get. - Spoke to office manager about all the above issues on our 2nd day there. She seemed annoyed that we were asking about these things and she offered no help to correct them. Her way of making it better...2 free breakfast buffet coupons. Which we used 1 day of then decided we would rather pay somewhere else then eat there again.
Tons of wildlife on the property, and one of the best sushi restaurants I've ever eaten in. Great staff, tons to do
Great for a family vacation and staff is very friendly.
Pool general ambience good reastaurants board walk to Whalers
Unacceptable to not have barista made coffee at breakfast.
Amazing helpful staff Beautiful buffet breakfasts every morning Amazing restraunt Japengos beautifully clean room every day Fantastic concierges Amazing reception areas
designated smoking area was too far away !!! We were never able to get a chair poolside at 9am in the morning chairs were always taken by invisible people that had claimed them for the day with a towel and magazine !!!!!!!!!In 4 days we NEVER got a chair poolside
Beautiful ocean view, great location, one excellent restaurant (Japengos), truly excellent staff, charming penguins and a genuinely nice ambiance. This is a great place to stay and a good launching pad from which to explore the rest of the island.
We found the bathroom itself (bathtub/shower & toilet) to be very small and cramped, and the general cleanliness of the bathroom area could have been better. But this is only a light complaint. By no means was it "bad". The steak restaurant was not as good as Japengos and very pricey. But if you just want to stay on the property it is nice to have two very good restaurants to choose from.
Everything! The location was fantastic, the room great with a lovely view and ideal size. I would certainly go back again and recommend it to people going to Maui!
Old rooms, built in 80's, but resort is kept immaculately clean and groomed.
Time share salesmen were overbearing and caused us some grief. Prices were a joke and definitely not worth it.
I liked the amenities (extra cost though) and the decor of the hotel. Staffs were friendly. The hotel was very family oriented.
I didn't like how when I booked the hotel, I selected 2 bed (queen/full) and when I got to the hotel, I was offered King and a sofa bed. If that was the case, I would of selected another hotel.
Facility is undergoing improvements hopefully making this property a standout destination resort. Met Jason Abrams, food & bev resort manager. This guy is a plus for the Hyatt. Made us feel special. Go PSU!!
Rockier end of the beach.
It was great. I would stay again if i have a chance..
The gym, pool and spa.
The rooms could be a little more luxurious.
Very efficient staff and warm and welcoming !
Spa/work-out view of ocean. Food! Grounds very beautiful
ocean too rocky
Location. Pool. Nearby shopping, fast food, etc. Courteous, friendly staff. They were always helpful.
Beds. Mattress was almost on the floor. Self parking lot. Spaces were so narrow and distance between rows of cars was so short that parking was difficult. Card reader to access self parking lot seldom worked on the first try. Many others seemed to be having the same problem. Hotel finally issued a special card just for the parking lot. Hot tub was almost always an expanded kiddy-pool complete with inflatable crocodiles, etc.
