Very small rooms
Bath tube tap has little water pressure
Beautiful views. Clean and comfortable.
Waiting for room to be ready.
Initial room was way too small. We did change rooms after the first night and that was much more spacious with a balcony and a great view.
The lounge chairs by the pool were uncomfortable and there was not enough of them to accomadte the number of guests.
The location is good, near the center of Newport. The views from the hotel are very nice too. There is a lot to do in the Newport area so it is a good location to be based out of. There is a nice pool and you are not far from great beaches.
I don't think we have ever had a more irritating hotel stay. Check- in was very chaotic, lots of vehicles and no place to put them and 1 or 2 bellmen on duty . 2-3 times daily our room keys wouldn't work and we trekked back to the desk for new ones.[we were very careful to isolate the keys from anything that could cause them not to work after the 1st ones would not work.] I think we had about 20 keys in all over a 3 night stay. They did work on the room door at least twice. The shower leaked because the glass doesn't fit tightly against the wall. There was water flowing everywhere during showers. We reported that too. The ground fault mechanism in the hair dryer was broken. The room refrigerator didn't work either. We were never told there was a Resort Fee until we were told they'd waive it. No one told us there was a hotel van shuttle and a water shuttle. We found out about them by accident. The staff was very nice but this Hyatt did not meet our expectations at all. I had previously stayed here when it was a Sheraton and did not enounter any of these issues. It was a very disappointing experience.
The room was very nice and the grounds and location were excellent with great views.
Towel bar was hanging by a thread and the toilet paper bar was broken. For the money I paid they should've had a butler to hold the toilet paper for me. A/C had no happy medium. Either you froze or you were warm.
Bed, pillows and tv
Our room was near elevator and super noisy. Hotel was overrun with events to the point that you couldn't get out the front door! Bathroom no hooks to hang towels?
The views were gorgeous There are two restaurants and a very nicely appointed bar. Starbucks is served with breakfast. The room furnishings and bathroom decor were very tasteful.
The coffee pot was not cleaned from the previous guest.. The room was extremely noisy and we could hear everything that went on in the hallway including maid service.. The check in person was terse and that was unexpected...
facilities need facelift
Walking distance to town. Yet not in town
The ocean view wasn't really a view. We were overlooking the parking lot
This hotel had nicely appointed rooms, with comfortable bed and well equipped bathroom. At check in, we requested a water view and they obliged. The water shuttle was especially delightful, since there were just the two of us, the captain extended the ride a bit around the harbor.
Access to the pool area is quite limited. My inability to get a lounge chair near the pool was the only thing that spoiled my stay. This was a perfect weather weekend, (a precious commodity in New England), and the two hour time block I had available for pool time couldn't be accommodated.
There was nothing I disliked
Wonderful views. Short walk from a lively and pretty shopping and dining area. Free wifi.
I'm not sure if they were short-staffed, but our room was late being cleaned and a couple of pool attendant's customer service needs some work. You had to pay to use the spa and the dining was expensive.
Location and views
Grounds and room seemed poorly maintained.
I liked the location, landscape, view. It was beautiful night to sit out by the fire.
We went in the entry door by our room very dirty.
location of hotel restaurants/bars on property outdoor fire place walking pathways on grounds shuttle to town
more of a negative, than dislike, hallways on 2nd and 3rd floor are long; they should have a clear sign for elevator -maybe mark carpet with a solid stripe in future to break up hallway or show a corridor
Are commendations the location the food was excellent
The dining was kept to cool. It was hard to enjoy the good food
Hotel needs a major redo. Walls are thin. Staff was not prepared for full hotel
I felt like I was at a resort with the property. Would go back again.
The view from your room, from the outside are just gorgeous . The staff are very friendly. My wife loves the hotel and will not stay anywhere else in Newport.
The cost per night including extra fees. Pretty steep
The Hotel and room was lovely as well as the grounds and pool area. Beautiful views. The staff was very friendly and the concierge was also very helpful. Also liked the shuttle service to and from town.
The service was not good. It took 3 phone calls and almost 6 hours to get extra hangers. We had to call to get robes. We had to call everyday for housekeeping to clean our rooms. When we checked in I called to let them know we wanted our linens and towels changed per their request. We never had turndown service except for the last night. Hence no clean towels for morning When we arrived (3:00) our room was not ready, but when we asked for later checkout, they gave us a very difficult time. They finally let us checkout at 12:00 (we wanted 1:00)
I loved the hotel, but the views are just amazing from there. The outdoor pool with sea water is awesome, the pit for the 'smores is awesome, we all had a great relaxing time.
If you are looking for a true getaway with very close proximity to Newport, this is it! The grounds are beautiful with breathtaking views of the bay and Newport Bridge and the staff is extremely accommodating. Great shuttle service to downtown is a nice option not to deal with traffic and parking.
The room was nice and the service was excellent
First floor room was extremely noisy. It's a long walk to get the boat for the Newport Golk Festival
