Great place for families with kids. Terrific pool.
I had some crazy bugs to kill. The walls were so thin I could hear the people in the next room breathing.
The heated pool was very nice.
I did indeed call the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach to express my disappointment with the original accommodations we were provided. The attached photos are of the Lido portion of the hotel and as you will note, are not at all cohesive with the remainder of the hotel that is advertised on the hotel's website. This area is essentially a different hotel and not depicted anywhere on the hotel's website. The attached shows the room we were initially given in the Lido section of the hotel--Room 174. Lido is a desert-like area and there was a long corridor that lead to our room. There were large blue bins in-site everywhere because it was right by the area where hospitality staff store linens and towels. From the photos, you can tell we were adjacent to the room where the housekeeping staff door opened to the left. It was dark and dingy and completely unacceptable. After requested a room upgrade that was initially denied to due the facility being at full capacity, I eventually relayed to the hotel that one person in our party was elderly and disabled. At that point, we were moved into a more disability friendly/accessible room in another part of the hotel. After talking with Scott at the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach, he simply said he would see what could be done about making the website more reflective of what the property looks like, including photos of the lido area. My concern is that had we not had a disabled person in our part or had the hotel truly been at capacity as they initially mentioned, this room would have been passed of as a Four Star quality stay which it is not.
Cleanliness of the room and staff were very gracious.
Staff is very friendly
Everything is too expensive for what u get... The room, the food service, the bar... Everything will be twice what u would feel the price should be for what u get.
Appearance is nice. Beautiful grounds. Room (single King) is small-ish. Nothing special except the price.
Couldn't buy it!
The pillows. I wanted to buy the Orange pillow but it was NOT on Hyatt home
The piped in music at the poolside was too loud and quite disturbing at the rooms which face the pool. The restaurant was good for breakfast but did not have their act together for dinner (valentine's day, maybe they were ill unprepared).
The grounds are beautiful and well maintained the lobby and room were updated in a sleek and clean lines in subtle colors, very tastefully done.
Pool area. Coffee bar. Bed was very comfortable.
Knowledgeable staff great concierge great location
Our $139 room, turned into $250 , charged $22 parking, fees for this, fees for that, I left feeling ripped off. Not to pleased with booking.com either
We were in Balboa block, its a little tired and in need of some upgrades...
We stayed at this Hyatt several times, staff are friendly, its clean and comfy ..you have everything that a good hotel has to offer...parking/valet parking is expensive though..and you have to pay for wifi should be free!
It is not cleAr that parking and resort fee are separate fees. Paying both is excessive
Grounds are very pretty.
Place looks a little old. The elevators are old looking, I felt as if I was going walking to a medical appointment in a medical building!
Staff was very nice and cordial.
Paid wifi was a bust for the experience. Our cell service in the area wasn't great, so wifi would have been nice to have inclusive.
The luxurious hotel with balcony overlooking the scenic pools. Had a happy hour with wine, cheeses, meats, and grapes on the balcony every night overlooking the pool as the sun went down. It was a moment to capture for many years to come.
Everything Staff great From men outside Front desk Great food Outstanding
The decor in the room is new, but sitting area is minimal and furnishings just ok. Our King room seemed very small & motel like. Did not like the parking extra fee - the lot is huge and the $23 or $29 to valet is just tacky. Beware of the extra fees when booking if you are comparing prices.
Location is good, but you'd still need a car. There are not many choices close to the Marina, and this is the best.
I reserved for 2 queen beds on the 2 rooms and I end up getting the full. They double charge me in both rooms NB TOURISM ASSESSMENT AND NB OCC TAX $ VISITOR SVC FEE It smells in the hallway to our room bec we are close to the restrooms on the first floor, resort fees and self parking handicap charge In Vegas i dont pay that much will never go back there so expensive Their beds uncomportable woke up with back pain and right cheek swollen
The garden and the big chess
I did not feel the front desk staff were very friendly. They did not tell us anything about the hotel, just merely checked us in. When we asked any questions they acted upset we were bothering them.
Hotel is beautiful. Location is perfect.
Thank you to provide nice starting in Rusty Pelicon Restaurent while we were with customers.
Enjoyed the comfort and location. Food was excellent and the service was outstanding. Very nice experience and looking foward to returning.
Staff "welcome" was almost rude - very busy and we were more a hassle than guests to be greeted with pleasantness. Not sure they wanted our business - will not repeat here. WiFi advertised as free but at log in I had to choose one of two prices to pay to access - was not explained at check-in (see above) which to select and that I wouldn't be charged. Had to call the front desk to find out what to do - they weren't very nice about that either. Very old facility (think 60s motel) on the exterior - we were at the furthest reaches of the property. Paying for parking every day - $22.
The rooms were small but well appointed with upgraded features (the exterior of the section we were in was not updated). Walkable to Balboa Island. Nice eco-reserve to hike very close by.
Valet person make were rude
There are several "add on" fees that are added at the end of the stay like a daily resort fee, daily valet parking and taxes which make your room cost much higher than you expect.
We spend a lot of time on Balboa Island so the location is perfect.
High parking fees, although my friend got a break on her $22 self park.
Food was delicious. Staff was really helpful and friendly. Loved the grounds
People are way to noisy in the hallways ...Did not sleep well.
The comfort of the room was excellent.
