Location is good, but you'd still need a car. There are not many choices close to the Marina, and this is the best.
The decor in the room is new, but sitting area is minimal and furnishings just ok. Our King room seemed very small & motel like. Did not like the parking extra fee - the lot is huge and the $23 or $29 to valet is just tacky. Beware of the extra fees when booking if you are comparing prices.
The garden and the big chess
I reserved for 2 queen beds on the 2 rooms and I end up getting the full. They double charge me in both rooms NB TOURISM ASSESSMENT AND NB OCC TAX $ VISITOR SVC FEE It smells in the hallway to our room bec we are close to the restrooms on the first floor, resort fees and self parking handicap charge In Vegas i dont pay that much will never go back there so expensive Their beds uncomportable woke up with back pain and right cheek swollen
Hotel is beautiful. Location is perfect.
I did not feel the front desk staff were very friendly. They did not tell us anything about the hotel, just merely checked us in. When we asked any questions they acted upset we were bothering them.
Thank you to provide nice starting in Rusty Pelicon Restaurent while we were with customers.
Enjoyed the comfort and location. Food was excellent and the service was outstanding. Very nice experience and looking foward to returning.
The rooms were small but well appointed with upgraded features (the exterior of the section we were in was not updated). Walkable to Balboa Island. Nice eco-reserve to hike very close by.
Staff "welcome" was almost rude - very busy and we were more a hassle than guests to be greeted with pleasantness. Not sure they wanted our business - will not repeat here. WiFi advertised as free but at log in I had to choose one of two prices to pay to access - was not explained at check-in (see above) which to select and that I wouldn't be charged. Had to call the front desk to find out what to do - they weren't very nice about that either. Very old facility (think 60s motel) on the exterior - we were at the furthest reaches of the property. Paying for parking every day - $22.
Valet person make were rude
We spend a lot of time on Balboa Island so the location is perfect.
There are several "add on" fees that are added at the end of the stay like a daily resort fee, daily valet parking and taxes which make your room cost much higher than you expect.
Food was delicious. Staff was really helpful and friendly. Loved the grounds
High parking fees, although my friend got a break on her $22 self park.
The comfort of the room was excellent.
People are way to noisy in the hallways ...Did not sleep well.
They over booked the hotel and expected to give a one king room to 4 adults. I had even called earlier to confirm our reservation and no mention was made that they had given away our room.
We enjoyed our stay. The room was clean except for the carpet needs to be washed. The staff made our stay nice. Especially the check in crew.
The view isn't very good. But the grounds are nice. Overall, a nice place to stay.
Nice location! Nice landscaping & pool area.
Our $229 fee turned into well over $300 by the time you pay a "Resort Fee," taxes, parking, etc... Also, the self parking is not convenient for the daily price.
LIked the easy location off interstate
Remote to the city .. .had to drive to the "REAL" beach
Nice friendly staff
Poor room which looked average outside No mini bar Cost of car parking
Guest self parking is far away and expensive.
The location and the casual style being close to the Ocean and having nice swimming pools
The property overall standards were certainly below a typical Hyatt Regency .. They did not know I was a Diamond member although I sent them earlier messages about that and requesting connecting rooms ..
pool was great
Front desk personnel were very courteous & friendly. Everything in our rooms (3) was very clean & tidy - big plus! Pool & movie = "A+" by our 4 teens! :-)
Porter/baggage man not courteous; rushed us; acted as if we were wasting his time! Not convenient to get something out of auto when autos are parked so far away. No elevator; very inconvenient for those who have health limits. No back entrance - inconvenient.
the rooms wasn't vacuumed at all.
Great staff, clean room, great location
Walls are WAY too thin! Could hear everything going on in every room. EXPECT ZERO PRIVACY.
The swimming pool is great for both adults and children They gave me a free parking because i was staying for 9 nights (self parking costs 22 $/day +tax)
There is no breakfast buffet
Hotel did not honor rate given by Booking.com. Also, "resort fee" is just a way to extort guests for services that should be expected.
Se!lf parking was inconvenient
nice location and great for a beachbreak
swimming pool area could be a bit smarter
