Nearness to Union Station
All eateries in the area and in the hotel were geared toward expense accounts and not to tourists on a budget. Room was devoid of all accessories to store or make quick snacks. It was far to compact for the price.
Super close to everything
Walls were so thin I could practically hear our neighbour breathing
- big and comfy bed - very clean room - great shower - nice and friendly staff - great breakfast!
- sure, a bit expensive (260$ per night/2 persons)
Excellent location near the Capitol and Union Station. Staff friendly and efficient. Good size room and shower room.
Dirty fingermarks on bathroom door. Very soft pillows but these were replaced on request. High prices in bar and restaurant. 29$ for breakfast!
The bathroom in the room was spacious. Lawrence directed us to a parking garage half a block from the hotel. Hall of States parking garage is only half a block away and costs half the price of parking at the hotel.
We were not arriving until 10 pm on our check in day. I had seen on their website that parking may not be guaranteed. I called the hotel at 2pm and asked if having a reservation guaranteed parking even though we weren't getting there until 10pm. The front desk assured me that due to my reservation I would be guaranteed a spot. When we arrived at the hotel after a three and half hour car trip we found a sign out front of the hotel letting us know their lot was full. This would not have been a problem but the front desk assured me when I called that I was guaranteed a spot. Not being familiar with the area we called the hotel again speaking with the front desk(Erica this time) When I asked her about the parking she said that a large group had booked their ballroom and had taken the parking spaces. She advised us to park at Union Station(she would comp parking on the first night if we moved it to their parking the next day) and walk as it was only two blocks. I felt that the hotel did not care about my safety or the others in my party as it was almost 11pm and she told me to walk in an unfamiliar area. As we were looking for parking I called back and spoke with Lawrence this time. He asked what street we were on and directed us to a parking garage half a block from the hotel. When we finally arrived at the hotel and met Lawrence face to face he didn't seem to care about the trouble we had. He half-heartedly said sorry and once again they only offered to comp the first night of parking if we moved our car the next day. As we were only in town from late Friday night to early Sunday morning we did not want to waste our time moving the car in the morning. When we came back from touring D.C. at 430pm the lot was full again even though Erica and Lawrence both assured us it was a rare occasion the night before. The hotel also has a policy posted on each floor stating that for the comfort of their guests quiet time begins at 9pm.
The people at the front desk at least tried to get the kids to quiet down. The location proximity to union station and the national mall is great.
Apparently there was a high school class trip to DC and the entire floor was filled with loud obnoxious teenagers. The obvious thing to do would be to not put us on the same floor with this group. Why on earth you occupy the one room left on this floor with us is beyond me. We were woken up constantly, had to call front desk three times. This was extreme poor planning by the hotel. I understand kids will be kids but they had a responsibility not to put other patrons with this large group.
bookings did not transmit the breakfast included correctly to the hotel
price of drinks and food
I loved the hotel but there was not a good metro stop near the hotel.
Close to Verizon center
the reservation, the room, the location
the way I was treated in the restaurant on the morning of 9/1/2014. I was told that I had to wait for a table, and then a white couple came and they seated them with no hesitation, I was quite insulted, not a good PR
Location. Comfort. U can park a car youself for $22/day. Instead of $48 valet parking, not far & easy.
It's a great hotel. This was my 3 trip to DC in 1 year. I've stayed at other hotels in the area & I can honestly say I liked the Hyatt the best. I have any complaint at all. From staff, to the location, to the actual hotel everything was great. I'm definitely coming back.
The Firehouse down the block.
excellent customer services and beautiful hotel.
Room size Restaurant Location Price
Sloppy maid service
The location, the room was just right, and despite one staff member, the staff was the best.
The rudeness of one staff person. I felt she prejudge us upon our check in.
Low level floor rooms are dark and no natural light. Also street noise doesn't help you to sleep well.
Location was convenient to Ballpark Price Valet parking
Didn't have small frig Bathroom floor was dirty/gritty No signage for ice machine
- Perfect location for all the tourist sites at the head of the Mall - Really comfy beds/pillows leading to excellent night's sleep - Staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable - Really cheap considering high standard and excellent location
- Absolutely nothing.....stop thinking about where to stay and just book it!
The hotel location, level of services, and the general environment were quite good. The hotel was clean, and the reception desk staff were quite helpfull.
The were some mistakes made by the reception staff while doing my room account. Some payments were charged twice. I wish this would not happen again.
Very helpful concierge staff. Wifi in lobby. Pool opened at 5am for jet lags. Clean, comfortable rooms. Good location and price.
No wifi in room. Rude staff in gift shop when I asked what time they opened in the morning. A/C was loud and came off and on regularly.
Location Friendly Staff Close of Capitolio
Good location, great staff, smooth sailing.
Very high price. No AARP discount allowed, no AAA discount allowed, and I always got one or the other discount at other hotels.
The location if hotel was nice
The room was not at all prepared We had to ask for everything from bathrobe to everything. The bed sheet has blood stain so we had to get it changed. Clearly a shame on the usual offerings from Hyatt brands because Hyatt in Middle East has a very decent standard.
