Location, rooms, staff
Prices were high
wifi not free didn't feel that clean
+ Great location! 10 mins walking distance from Union Station + Convenient stores open 24/7 in the lobby (But expensive) + There's a Sharebike parking nearby, which was awesome!
- Paid wifi? Definitely no no.
I love how friendly the staff is and how comfortable i felt
That i had to leave!
The location is perfect
No mini bar or refrigirator, the heating system was not working in fact it was cooling and thats in December even after calling the front desk and sending maintenance the room was so cold, the parking fee is so expensive
Room size was very good. Lifts were very quick and always available.
Did not like having to pay extra for wi-fi in room. No facilities for checking in for flights (unless you paid extra for facilities)
Location is excellent. Rooms clean and well appointed. Breakfast buffet, though a bit pricey, was very good. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Double room was a tad bit cramped. Free WiFi only in the lobby/restaurant area.
Clean Well appointed
Staff poorly trained Your over staffed with poorly trained people Your front desk checkin Poorly run First impression is huge,, I waited 22 min to get checked in due to poorly trained employees at the desk I had only two people on front of me and two agents And they did not acknowledge me Did not look at me Did not make eye contact And did not say " we will be with you ASAP " They did not call for extra help I travel and stay at hotels so I know a good check in. Also your kiosk check in was not operable And I lost my place in line trying it, Also while we were waiting for valet to deliver the car An elderly woman fell on the escalator I was standing near the exit door along with your employees When shouts from anouther woman were heard for help Your staff was confused. I ran to the escalator and was the person that carried the woman to safety And checked her and stood her up and took her to the bench,,, Finally one woman from your staff came over and offered her some water,,, Then your staff realized the gravity of the lady falling and sent a supervisor to interview her and see if she was injured .. The door man did not respond Etc Your staff really does not care about others And does there job out of responsibility rather than desire
The location to the train station is key. We were a group of 8 friends and walked to the hotel in 10 minutes! Beautiful friendly hotel!
When we arrived we had been travelling for 12 hours and we went up to our room before heading out to grab some dinner. I went downstairs to tell the valet guys we left a pair of shoes for my daughter in the car we needed. The valet guy proceeded to throw an actual fit. He started giving me a speech about getting all of our items from our car and reprimanding me in front of my daughter. I found this to be unbelievably insulting and honestly if we werent so exhausted I would have left the hotel and checked in somewhere else. I have never seen such disgusting behavior and as a business owner if one of my employees acted like that to a customer they woudl have been terminated on the spot. Its unlikely we will ever stay in a Hyatt again. Also when I got my car back it was filthy becasue they parked it in a garage that had ongoing construction.
Front desk. Fantastic
I travel to D.C. often for business, and have stayed at the Grand Hyatt and Sofitel many times. The staff at this facility is excellent, the location near Union Station makes arriving after a long train ride very easy, and the rooms are well-appointed and very comfortable. ALso, it's fun to see The Capital Building down the street!
no fridge abuse of credit card bathroom
Clean, friendly, great lobby area
Place is around corner from clean and sober facility. Shady area. Shady folk..Parking for 24 was 52$.. Really this isn't NYC. Across street behind fire station is 20$ parking.
Staff was wonderful. Suite very nice.
Sofa bed not especially comfortable for our adult daughter who was with us.
No hot jacuzzi at the pool No easy access room wi fi Poor navigation advice. No breakfast included
Location, very close to Capitol and Union Station.
Payed WIFI is not really 2014!
Buffet and meal options were great. Location is absolutely near everything (even though "near" means no matter where you stay or places you go, you will do a lot of walking. But that's OK.
Do not like fluffy-looking pillows that collapse to "pancake" size and give absolutely NO neck support.
Nearness to Union Station
All eateries in the area and in the hotel were geared toward expense accounts and not to tourists on a budget. Room was devoid of all accessories to store or make quick snacks. It was far to compact for the price.
Super close to everything
Walls were so thin I could practically hear our neighbour breathing
- big and comfy bed - very clean room - great shower - nice and friendly staff - great breakfast!
- sure, a bit expensive (260$ per night/2 persons)
Excellent location near the Capitol and Union Station. Staff friendly and efficient. Good size room and shower room.
Dirty fingermarks on bathroom door. Very soft pillows but these were replaced on request. High prices in bar and restaurant. 29$ for breakfast!
The bathroom in the room was spacious. Lawrence directed us to a parking garage half a block from the hotel. Hall of States parking garage is only half a block away and costs half the price of parking at the hotel.
We were not arriving until 10 pm on our check in day. I had seen on their website that parking may not be guaranteed. I called the hotel at 2pm and asked if having a reservation guaranteed parking even though we weren't getting there until 10pm. The front desk assured me that due to my reservation I would be guaranteed a spot. When we arrived at the hotel after a three and half hour car trip we found a sign out front of the hotel letting us know their lot was full. This would not have been a problem but the front desk assured me when I called that I was guaranteed a spot. Not being familiar with the area we called the hotel again speaking with the front desk(Erica this time) When I asked her about the parking she said that a large group had booked their ballroom and had taken the parking spaces. She advised us to park at Union Station(she would comp parking on the first night if we moved it to their parking the next day) and walk as it was only two blocks. I felt that the hotel did not care about my safety or the others in my party as it was almost 11pm and she told me to walk in an unfamiliar area. As we were looking for parking I called back and spoke with Lawrence this time. He asked what street we were on and directed us to a parking garage half a block from the hotel. When we finally arrived at the hotel and met Lawrence face to face he didn't seem to care about the trouble we had. He half-heartedly said sorry and once again they only offered to comp the first night of parking if we moved our car the next day. As we were only in town from late Friday night to early Sunday morning we did not want to waste our time moving the car in the morning. When we came back from touring D.C. at 430pm the lot was full again even though Erica and Lawrence both assured us it was a rare occasion the night before. The hotel also has a policy posted on each floor stating that for the comfort of their guests quiet time begins at 9pm.
