loud AC unit
The size of the hotel and the location to nice attractions.
The rooms are a little small for the price.
The breakfast buffet at Shula's Steakhouse was excellent!
Rooms were nice
Staff was very helpful and friendly.
Valet parking retrieval was very backed up at check out.
the service was superb from the moment we drove up to the curb. Staff were welcoming and gave great directions. We will return again for fun and next year's marathon.
Race morning I had an excellent experience with the shuttle however my friend did not. She was told the shuttle would return in 5 minutes. It did but when the driver got out he said 10 minute break and was quite rude about it. This was after the race had started. My friend was a spectator. My friend went to the concierge and told him had she known she would've walked. The point is the driver was actually very rude. He was not the same driver I had that morning around 6:15. That driver was very kind.
proximity to work
That everything cost extra.... Cleanliness, this was our biggest concern. The rroom was filthy, stains, poor turn down service etc. etc.
Great place to stay and heated pool was nice.
The location was excellent for the purpose of my trip. The staff was great and helped with everything I needed. Room was great.
Spindletop restaurant. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Good location to green street nightlife. Friendly valet parking. Nice hotel for the money
Bathroom is not split with a private toilet, but not a big deal.
Rooms are spacious
Elevators slow at times Restaurants of average quality with limited choice No beer on tap Sundays only one choice to eat
Loudness from lobby bar limited late night meal choices
Very nice structure, it is a hollow tower with internal balconies centrally located
Rooms starting to suffer the age
Staff was competent, friendly, quick. Room very nice, clean, quiet Gym is quite good for hotel gym but could use some more space, equipment
Could have better common amenities; neither restaurant in hotel gets great reviews; daily parking charge ($32) seems steep but staff was great re dropping and picking up vehicle
The staff was extremely helpful and nice.
There was no restroom in the pool area and had to go back up to your room to use the restroom.
EVERY employee that I came across was helpfu, courteous and had a smile! Very accommodating.
The restaurants closed at 10pm, but their Einsteins Bagels was open 24/7.
the very, very best thing about our trip was our shuttle driver Friday night to the concert & back again! he was AWESOME!
I did not like that I could not order breakfast from room service all day long.
King size bed
I loved that it was walking distance to several restaurants and bars. I also loved having Einstein Bros in the lobby for a quick and inexpensive breakfast.
Parking was expensive! Queen double beds and free wi-fi in the room would have been nice.
Convenience to downtown Houston. Restaurant and lobby were good.
The beds were so uncomfortable that I could not sleep both nights. Room had patched wallpaper and carpet was not clean. Common hallways had worn woodwork and walls. In general, this 40+ year lod hotel looked its age in the accommodation area. I expect a lot more for the cost.
The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Room was clean. Very close to the convention center.
For what was offered, the breakfast buffet was a little pricey.
Well situated to downtown ball parks. In fact the walk to and from the Houston Dynamo Compass Stadium was about a mile and a great way to experience the city. My 10 year old boy loved it as did his dad! Will be my place of choice for me again in the future.
Nothing to report.
