    I was not told the hotel would be under refurbishment. There was no fridge in the room. Room service was not available which is essential for travelers coming from abroad and for business travelers. Also paying for wi-fi is so out-dated. It should be free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Location and price

    No advance notice of the implications of upcoming renovations. No room service, no breakfast buffet and very poor service overall particularly at the front desk. I have stayed here many times before and enjoyed my stay.

    Really fine old line hotel next to the Waldorf, very class but much better for my budget.

    Had limited elevator service, 2 of 3 on one bank were down, one of 3 on the other bank was down. Only one set of doors to the street were accessible, although they had doors on 3 sides of the building.

    Hotel location was perfect.

    Room Rate was very high for quality of room and hotel in general. Wifi was not free.

    Location and the staff. I extended my stay by a day and they accommodated my request and kept me in the same room.

    Great location, very nice hotel, extremely clean and spacious room. I would recommend it to anyone very highly.

    the bathroom could have been a little bigger as it was smallish in comparison to the room. Not that I didn't like it. Its meant as a constructive observation. Overall, the hotel was excellent.

    The hotel is in a great location, very central. The lobby is spacious and nice. The rooms are comfortable. I had stayed there before and liked the hotel, so wanted to stay there again with my business guests.

    I had business guests, and was very disappointed by the behaviour of the check-in staff. They were not very nice, polite or helpful during check-in. We had asked for 1 hr early check-in during booking and when we arrived some of our guests received a smaller room without asking for consent, and some of our guests were not offered anything, but only were said "we do not have the rooms ready". I think in such a hotel, the staff should be nicer and more polite even if they cannot help with the early check-in.

    Professional, friendly staff. Elegant lobby and traditional charm of rooms. Location. Cleanliness. We were on 14th floor and found the facility quiet.

    Gym had reasonable equipment, but fitness area is a bit dull. Room furniture (for example, desk and safe) is a bit dated.

    Good location, just steps from Grand Central.

    Really old hotel with broken elevators and rooms' facilities out of 1980s.

    Lovely rooms, well maintained, great fitness center, great internet service.

    I booked an executive king room, and was given a standard room upon checkin. After I complained, I was moved to the room I paid for. I didn't appreciate them trying to give me an inferior room than the one I paid for!

    NO INTERNET WITHOUT FEE. Reason to stay away next visit to NYC. Ancient Bathroom. Room Lights Inop...never repaired during visit. Bed completely worn out.

    The concierges were very helpful and friendly, and the room was a really good size for NY. Very comfortable bed (always important), and in general a very nice hotel.

    One rude member of staff at check-in, who despite my wife being stood next to me, addressed me only and asked me to "write down the name of (my) second guest". I felt this was antiquated and sexist and my wife was really quite put out by it. Also we were shocked to find out that the charge for a phone call to Canada would be $18.00 for the first minute - how on earth any company can justify that kind of premium I can't understand. Needless to say, we made the call from our UK mobile phone at a fraction of the price.

    I go to NY yearly. I have stayed at many lovely Midtown hotels. The stay at the Intercontinental was the best. Very clean, a great staff, and a warm cozy feel in the heart of all the hustle and bustle of the city. I'll be back!

    It was all great!
