Every aspect of the facility. First class operation.
Mike won't adopt us and let us stay there forever !!
Ask for an end cottage as our room did not have much light.
Breakfast, mountain setting, comfy bed.
A bit cramped. Difficult to find in the dark.
Quiet, lovely grounds very near to the Volcanoes National Park. Our cottage was charming and quirky with a lovely view from each window and a front porch on which we had our morning coffee.
One side of the bed sloped so that person on that side needed to sleep in middle of bed! If you spoon, then no issue!
close to the national park cooler than down by the beach by 10deg quiet area no traffic
no cooking in the room only had coffee pot wifi was spotty in the room no on site laundry but one was close by in town.
Very cozy and comfortable. Great landscaping. Nice beds. Good special breads and fruit for breakfast. Wonderful quiet location.
The cottages are beautiful, out of a Disney tale. It's situated just 1 or 2km from the Volcano National Park entrance, so really handy if you're visiting it.
Coffee maker was a bit dirty. Breakfast is yummy (fresh fruits and delicious banana break) but it's a pity it's not offered in a breakfast room along with some fresh coffee and at least some bread and cereal.
Great property and cottage layout... Ideally located for the volcano national park visitors... Staff was welcoming and provided useful information.
Our room felt very humid after rain shower.
Quiet heavenly oasis after a full day of travel and sightseeing.
The staff is very kind, perfect position to visit the vulcano.
The location is very nice! The surroundings are amazing! Beautiful garden. The cottage we had was pretty spacious.
The "breakfast" was just a piece of fruit and cake. We weren't impressed with it at all. Would have preferred a bagel or piece of bread. It was too expensive for what it was.
Hale Ohia is set in beautiful, lush grounds. We stayed in the Master Suite in the main building. It was very comfortable and quiet with lots of space and everything we could need. A delicious home-made breakfast of fresh fruit and banana loaf was provided each day. We would highly recommend this as a place to stay.
Excellent place. I wish I could stay more...
Close to the park and very nice breakfast to eat on the room.
Thin walls--could hear neighbors arguing.
Mr. Tuttle is a wonderful host and his cottages are darling. Great place to stay and relax.
The cottages were beautiful. The beds were firm, which I love. The staff was welcoming. The hotel was close to everything we wanted to visit. Our stay was great.
The only thing I would change would be to have better window and door coverings for more privacy.
Immaculate room. Roomy and different than a chain. The setting is gorgeous, secluded and green. 3 miles from the park. When we checked in, he gave us tips on seeing the park and they were spot on. Breakfast is in your room- fresh baked fruit bread, fruit, juice- which was very nice. Highly recommended.

Really good location to visit the volcano, staff was nice and friendly
Not a lot of privacy in the master bedroom
Peaceful get-away, friendly staff, beautiful English cottage like facilities, kids were welcome, wonderful continental breakfast and perfect location to visit Volcano National Park.
None, everything was wonderful.
Very friendly staff. Nice and convenience place for visiting the park.
The in-room breakfast every morning was wonderful and fresh.
You can definitely hear everyone around you, including bugs and cars.
This B&B is a hidden treasure. If you are lucky enough to book one of these cottages, you will enjoy the fresh baked bread, fruits and peaceful relaxation that are afforded. There are restaurants in Volcano City with excellent food. This cottage was the highlight of our trip to the Big Island. It is a minute away from the Volcano Park. The gentleman that runs the cottages left out light on for us each night. I thought that was really sweet. The baked papaya/coconut bread was outstanding. This is a 'don't miss' opportunity.
Loved the setting. It was close enough to walk to "downtown" Volcano restaurants. The landscaping was beautiful. The cottage is SO CUTE! The bed is very comfortable. It even had a small selection of books/games. Fireplace was a nice amenity in the cool evenings. We enjoyed the fresh bread, fruit, and yogurt for breakfast (they bring it the night before, so no one will come wake you before you are ready). We would stay here again, but maybe inquire about shower height in other cottages.
Wifi was not easy to pick up inside cottage, but could pick up outside on patio. Wish the shower was a bit bigger, my husband is 6'5" and the shower head was low for him.
Mean breakfast of one papaya, 2 tiny bananas and one little candy nut bar all for 2,people to share.there was a date loaf in the afternoon but who wants to eat that for breakfast?
