Ok, it was explained to me that they are "in transition" with their cleaning staff, but given that they are charging premium rates for Asheville I expected a much higher standard. Don't get me wrong, the room was clean, but the staff was very inattentive. When I checked into my room there was no toilet paper and some of the lights in the bathroom were out. These are rather obvious items to notice. The next day the cleaning person removed my dirty towels, but did not replace them with any fresh towels. Again, not fatal, but very inattentive. I had no idea that the restaurant in the lobby provided room service (it does) because there were no menus provided. Lastly, I found it annoying that I had to travel up or down a floor to get water (yes, I could have used the tap, but they provided the carafe). Given the rates the hotel is charging I'm sure they can afford to stick a water machine on each floor.
Oh, and the free wifi was incredibly slow. Free is great, but don't make it free and awful. The cellular wireless thru my phone was much faster than the hotel wifi.
Net/net, great location, but management may be running this hotel to maximize cash flow and not for repeat customer business since I'll surely check other options for my next trip to Asheville.
Location and lobby staff were brightest spots. My particular room had a lovely view, but given the price for the room I think that dulls my excitement a bit.
