Nice and clean, as well as being nicely decorated, while not being overly fancy, it is very homey.
Nothing needs to be changed.
the staff & facility
Comfy bed, great view.
Room was on the 15th floor. It was very windy that night so got to the flag(s) flapping all night. Bathtub was a little grimy.
breakfast could have been better
I loved the view The pub downstairs is nice Staff are very friendly Bed was very comfortable Easy parking Great market across the street
WiFi was intermittent Kitchen needs some upgrades
The upper story corner rooms are very nice...
Too short a stay!
The water in the shower took awhile to warm up.
they were very unengaged and could care
Good price , free shuttle to and from airport. Great pub grub!
Tv.old tube type, need flat screen.
Location- within walking distance of downtown/spacious rooms/good food at the hotel bistro
Hotel front desk staff- one particular person. He was rude/impatient/not very accommodating
Friendly and helpful staff, especially Monica at the front desk Good food in rest. for dinner and breakfast, tasty and reasonably priced Good service in rest. Large room, space to spread out
Although service in rest. was friendly and proficient overall, it did take a long time to get our food...kitchen was either slow or very inefficient.
The views of the surrounding mountains from my room were wonderful. Excellent location near downtown Anchorage. I liked the ca. 1940s illustrations of Alaska on the wallpaper.
The hotel has a slow, rickety elevator.
Room was clean and Bed comfortable Enjoyed the breakfast in friendly surroundings Shuttle service good as we arrived late at night.
Had to adjust payment because was charged more than the quoted amount
The kitchen facilities.
The WIFI signal in the room and not in the hotel lobby only. It is the most basic needs of traveler now to get in touch.
Convenient distance from downtown. Kitchen facilities a bonus.
The location of the hotel was very good. We like to walk so we did not mind the short distance from the downtown. We also liked the airport and railstation shuttle. !
good size room with fridge and table. Near great bakery- fire island rustic and New Sagaya food store. Nice view of the inlet. Pleasant staff. Decent restaurant at hotel
A little out of town but a pleasant walk.
We stayed on a Saturday, traveled the backcountry, and returned for another night the following Saturday. We knew we would be up all night prior to our second night and a week in advanced, explained our situation, and asked for an early check-in. We were told there would be no guarantee, but the staff would "do their best" to accommodate us, and a note would be placed for the staff. At 7:30 am we were told there was a room empty, but it needed to be cleaned and the cleaning crew would be in at 8 and we'd have a room shortly after that. The front desk had a shift change shortly thereafter, and our request was not passed on to the new clerk. We sat and waited, then re-explained our situation, and the new clerk had no real interest in our "special request". So much for a weeks notice! So we sat and waited, and waited and waited. At 9, we asked the clerk if she could contact the cleaning supervisor and find out about our room. She acted as if she had no idea who we were and what an imposition we were to be hounding her. How long does it take to clean 1 room for 2 guests half asleep crowding up the lobby? She again told us again, it would be a few minutes and said breakfast was available in the other room. We were surprised to be handed a bill for the meal, which she had made sound as if it was on the hotel. After a weeks notice, multiple discussions, we sat there for more than 4 1/2 hours. Honestly, the staff really didn't care the least bit about our situation. it was disappointing.
Asked for a quiet room and got one on the 11th floor. No noise problems from traffic or adjoining rooms and double curtains were great. Location is good, about 10-15mins walk to downtown and a supermarket practically across the road. Restaurant has some interesting selections, some decor appeal and is fairly priced. It's not the Ritz but ticks all the boxes for a comfortable stay at a good price.
Maybe its a matter of cultural differences between US and Australia but despite having a microwave and a small "kitchen" sink, there was zero crockery, cutlery or glassware. For a "glass" of water on the bedside table use one of the tall paper cups that comes with the coffee dripolater that is commonly found in US hotels. Also internet, while initially excellent, failed on the second day (Sunday) because their ISP doesn't work Sundays ... hmmmm.
Your question about why we visited did not apply. My family needed us to come help after their nanny fell. The hotel was very convenient to where my son lives. The kitchen area was convenient.
The room was crowded especially for my husband who is somewhat handicapped. Several days we missed getting our room cleaned and I don't think it was vacuumed the whole 10 days we were there.
Child sized pillows are standard and totally a cost cutting feature. You have to ask for adult sized pillows :-( What manager made such an ill advised decision? Totally unacceptable!
restaurant was good! service was great! good value for anchorage hotel, first night at more expensive place was not as nice. suites are simple and have what you need in them. not fancy. privacy blinds in addition to window blinds much appreciated.
kitchen area should have at least some silverware and paper plates for guests.
older hotel badly needing updating, including the front desk personnel's blazer ( a large holein the elbow doesn' speak well for the hotel) Carpeting in the room and hallways desperately need replacing, as does the bedding.
Very friendly front desk staff. Clean. An older hotel so it was a little worn but within walking distance to down town. Free shuttle to railway station a plus.
