We were pleasantly surprised to find a very roomy mini-apartment with a sleeping loft and a large tub with jacuzzi jets. The accommodations more than made up for our unexpected stopover in Ketchikan when bad weather prevented us from flying home to Juneau. Thank you!
The hotel is a bit of a drive from the airport, but the owner gave us a lift in the large shuttle bus, at no extra charge.
Overall, we had a very pleasant stay at the Inn at Creek street. The accommodations were comfortable, in a great location, and very clean. Staff was friendly, and upgraded our room for us when our original room was no longer available.
We had an issue with the airport-shuttle service as we were leaving Ketchikan to return home to MN. We requested a shuttle for 7:00am, and we waited until 7:45am with no shuttle arriving. I called twice and was told both times that the shuttle was "on the way". After these two calls, the shuttle driver did not answer the phone any more, and never did show up. My companion and I nearly missd our 9:00am flight because of the unreliable shuttle service. Although we had a pleasant stay at the hotel, I would not stay there again because of the frustrating note that we ended on.
My sister and I went to Ketchikan to do a bit of genealogy digging to find out more about our father's family in 1930's Ketchikan. The Inn was a perfect location as most everything was within walking distance and the Green and Silver bus lines helped us out for further destinations. Perry, the owner, was very helpful and accommodating. We stayed in the Loft suite -so nice to have the extra room, kitchenette and view of the creek. Since we stayed there off season, it was very quiet, as I'm sure the Creek Street boardwalk can get very congested and noisy during the tourist season. However; the entrance is upstairs and facing the creek, so it may be quieter than being on the boardwalk level. We were blessed with fairly nice weather for November but many shops and attractions are only open during the tourist season. We were so impressed with the beauty surrounding us, the quaint historical feeling of the inn, and the friendly and helpful people of Ketchikan. What a wonderful community. I would highly recommend the Inn at Creek street.
The hotel was a treat; the furnishings, the convenience to everything in Ketchikan, even the friendly/hungry bear that visited the garbage cans was fun. The staff were helpful and kind, picking us up at the ferry and giving us tips for getting around the sights. We will stay again if given another opportunity.
The stairs were a pain but,.... Next time we'll pack lighter.
Clean, friendly, accommodating, large room with antiques, updated interior well done, good food at attached café, great location in town, small & intimate feel. If you're looking for a big modern hotel, this is not it, but we preferred this.
Lacking the typical lobby staff presence. Didn't need it, but seemed strange not to have it. Staff available upon making a phone call from counter phone supplied and patiently waiting for staff to drive there. Perhaps different during high season, but we were there during very end of season.
location, cleanliness, character, just a fun place to stay!!!
we liked the location, we were able to walk downtown, and on our other excursions driving was easy to navigate from. Although we had a rough start, we would definitely stay again, if we could have the same room.
I have 2 issues, one - we had to wait almost an hour for the owner to arrive to check us in. two - the WIFI connection in our room was non-existent, we had to go outside for a signal. Trying to do schoolwork was impossible. Parking could be an issue, although we lucked out and got parking in front of the café (next door).
Close to downtown- easy walk to downtown area. Clean- nice furniture in rooms. TV, refrig. Restaurant good food- great view
Steep stairway would be difficult for older people to navigate- but staff most helpful with bags
Staff so friendly and the room was amazingly clean.
Parking was on the road but manageable
It was a really cute historic inn in a very scenic part of town, near a lot of interesting things to see, but just far enough a way from most of the cruise ship crowds. The staff was super friendly and the van ride to and from the ferry was very helpful.
The stairs are steep and the halls are narrow, but I did get a kick out of the signs warning you to be careful on the "historically accurate" staircase.
