We learned upon arrival that the tap water in DC isn't always of drinking quality, but we picked up gallons for the week and it was no problem. The Inn Keepers provided filtered water as well.
The owners were very kind and accommodating! The Inn is not a traditional one, in that the owners live off-site, but they were always in contact and we saw them several times throughout the week. We enjoyed the balcony room, which was very clean when we arrived. Overall we had a very pleasant stay. The Inn was exactly what we were looking for, but if you want hotel-style accommodations you should look at a hotel instead. We wanted to be very autonomous and close to downtown, and that is what the Inn provided at a much more reasonable rate than hotels in a similar location.
The only thing I would have changed was the futon we had to sleep on. We were expecting a real bed. But it wasn't too bad!
The location was great, friendly staff, and safe neighborhood. Within walking distance to the Metro and surrounded by great restaurants in the Bloomingdale area. I would definitely stay here again!
The location was close to restaurants, entertainment, and the metro. The owners were extremely nice and very helpful in letting us know where things were located around the area. I will definitely stay here again when visiting DC
Because it's in a residential area near Shaw University, of what appears to be old military housing, there was only street parking available. It wasn't difficult to find but just keep in mind the majority of the streets require a residential tag.
The Inn is a perfectly incorporated home in a young/college residential area. Most of the locals we spoke with never even realized it existed. The staff are a mother and daughter who are very friendly and accommodating. The room was cozy, and the futon mattress was actually better than my bed at home. The location is perfect, approximately a mile to the metro green line which will take you directly to Chinatown, with a bunch of cafés, bars, and restaraunts on the way.
I like that we could 'check out' whenever we felt like it. The area in where this is looked to me like it was in the midst of being gentrified. I saw tons of cops on patrol, which I liked. It helped give a feeling of safety.
it was all very well
The stay was affordable in DC. We enjoyed the neighborhood type location.
Very enjoyable stay in an informal setting
It is quite old and it seems that is abandoned. There is just a tiny place to park in the backyard The AC is too loud!!!
Close to downtown Clean The manager is friendly, but I never saw him, that it is a little strange
Gentle personel, cheap, clean, reasonbly near to downtown
Only a few blocks walk from bus into downtown Safe neighbourhood Although a little old & tired, it was clean Not many people to have to share a bathroom with Nice kitchen Bar fridge in room TV Wifi Private, building not labelled so just blend in with the neighbourhood Luggage storage space
The on street parking without a parking permit meant I needed to move my car several times.
I liked being in a neighborhood versus staying in a hotel. I appreciated getting a unique experience in a quiet and clean bed and breakfast.
Hard to recommend because they charged me twice for the same room. I have tried to get them to resolve this problem over the phone and by email with no success. The bed was a futon couch folded down. The room was an old dining room of a house with the double doors to the living room and a third door blocked off. When the single staff was there they were good but they were not often there. Parking was on the street and something of a hassle.
The location - restaurants, coffee shops and a Metro stop were close by. It was quiet.
When it rain head, one bad thing about the rain dropped from the ceiling in my bed then. I was better that then.
The room is cute, cheap and better. Staff is good, kind and fun. The area is a little dangerous but I feel that to good and better.
The Dutch description on booking.com is not accurate. There are no rooms with two seperate beds.
The staff/owners were helpful and reasonable when we deciced to leave after one day, because the description of the room on booking.com wasn't accurate.
Shared bathroom was not mentioned. No invoice was provided, only a receipt via email. $ 25 cleaning fee was charged but no cleaning was done
the area seems to be not safety and I don't recommend to walk alone nearby the hotel in the evening.
it's cheap place, 10 minutes from the subway which takes you to the downtown. the room is comfort with free wifi
No breakfast or chance to meet other residence
The hospitality was very good. The Inn-keeper is very nice and helpful. We could check in almost at night. The room and bathroom were great. We could also use the kitchen. We absolutely recommend this Inn to family and friends and to others.
It is not the hotel, it is the private house. and house owners aren`t there for all time! when I came there - the door closed. to call for the owner was a problem for me - because I didn`t have the USA tell.number. I propose to write email befor coming for the future travelers.
Good location, close to the centre (20-30 min - white house on foot), close to the bus and subway stations. Polite home owners, safe and clean area of the city. I had big and clean room with the big balcony on the 2 floor.
The house is very used. The locking is with a pin and not a key, didn't seam very safe for us. The room and mattress was clean. But we asked to two duvets before arrival and it wasn't ready on arrival and the second offed was thin. The bathroom was clean, but due to aging it looked very dirty and dusty. The shower head was full of dirt and therefor the water from it was very little. The doors to all rooms are with glass. So the light from the corridor is shining in to the room, when the light is turned on. Our rating is not high and we would not return or recommend it as it is now.
The location is good and the area around the house is safe and there is busses talking you the 15 min to the center. They stay at the house was for us an experience. The host is friendly and seams for us experienced in renting out and handling guests.
The building is old, and the wood floors are noisy; I could hear every footstep, and people were up doing things often after midnight and occasionally before 7 AM. It seems to be pretty well soundproofed from the outside, though. Everything is old, and it's definitely homely rather than luxurious, but it is due to be renovated soon.
I liked the price, the neighborhood, and the attention given to each resident due to there only being four rooms. It is a good opportunity to meet people with many different backgrounds, if you are sociable. I felt safe and comfortable at the inn. You can also cook your own food and do laundry; good for longer stays.
