This was one of the nicest places I have ever stayed, it couldn't have been better! The staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful, the little touches were SO appreciated (cookies at the bedside, beautiful soap in the bathroom), the cheese and wine (daily at 5pm) was absolutely delicious, and breakfast was the best you could get anywhere - such a choice of food it took me 10 minutes to get started! I can't wait to go back, just to look at the beautiful beach scenes and little birds painted on the walls! I'm definitely bringing my family here - it's a little piece of Heaven in the lovely little town of Playa Del Rey!

What's not to like - you don't even need this section!

as advertised, it was a friendly and comfortable inn with a lovely view pf wetlands, near a good beach, the west side of LA and Santa Monica, and ten minutes from the airport. Would definitely stay there again.

We booked The inn at playa del Rey during a 24hr transit stop at LAX. This boutique hotel is located close to the airport however it is definitely not like an airport hotel. We arrived after a long haul flight and to our pleasant surprise could check in early ( at no extra cost) for a good sleep. The room was nicely decorated with a balcony overlooking the wetlands and the bed was extremely comfortable with luxury pillows and quality bed linen. The hotel is in walking distance to restaurants and bars, the beach a 5min walk and the marina a 30 min walk away. The Inn at Playa del Rey is a special place to stay: it is perfectly located for a LAX stopover; staff are extremely friendly and accommodating and go that extra step; the hotel rooms are well equipped and very clean; the complimentary breakfast is an array of home cooked wholesome food. I would definitely recommend this hotel for those transiting through LAX.

Noise and poor value for money. Booked a somewhat less expensive room to find it faced the street which is quite noisy. Did not wish to risk poor sleep with flight overseas next day/night so ended up spending almost 50% more than planned. Even then with room facing the estuary, there was some sort of industrial fan that kicked on and off every few hours-might have been the hvac unit at the back of the parking garage lot or might have been with the restaurant next door. In any case, for these prices one should get peace and quiet and I did not. I purposely did not want to stay at a chain hotel but this was a big and rather obvious disappointment and surprising it is not flagged in the reviews as it is a big deal. Given the prices relative to say the less expensive but very quiet Marriot, it was poor value for money.

Love the environment they create, and they have really good breakfast. The location is great, the beach is nice. I love everything here.

Since it is so close to the ocean, I was expecting an ocean view. It does not have that. But it does overlook some wetlands with an occasional egret.

This is really a home far away from home. We did not have the impression to be in a hotel at all. People are sweet, take really care of you, bake great cookies and offer wines and cheese at the end of each afternoon. From now on, I won't doubt where to stay in the la area; just at home here!

The owners couldn't have been any nicer to us. The rooms were beautiful. Breakfast and the homemade confectionery was delicious. A fabulous little hotel.

The area it was in didn't have a lot to do except the beach.

Everything is wonderful. Probably the best hotel in Los Angeles. Service is great, staff are very very helpful, breakfast is wonderful, complementary evening wine and cheese is so good, location is perfect, rooms are very comfortable, lounge, views are restful, decor and style are welcoming, and free parking too.

Well overpriced for what it is sorry but it is not a £200 a night location service or room!!

Ashley the receptionist was wonderful upon our arrival. Checked us in, gave us a tour, and offered advice on dinner for our anniversary as well as shopping info. The rooms are large and the bathroom was huge. Lovely seaside theme In Fresh colours and immaculate. The breakfast buffet was delicious. We borrowed bikes and went along the bike trail before a 20 hour flight, great to get fresh air. The bikes were complimentary. The fresh baked goods were sublime, especially the chocolate chip cookies in our room, best I have ever had! We will be back....

The Inn is a delightful place. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, convenient to LAX, easy access to beach, bike trails, comfortable rooms, good breakfast with coffee as early as 6 a.m., warm/inviting atmosphere, wine/snacks in the afternoon, helpful staff. All good.

Not a question of not liking, but the bikes could do with an upgrade. Most are single speed 'Chopper' type bikes which although very Californian are not my favourite weapon. I found an 18 speed mountain bike but the saddle height adjustment was broken so I felt that I was pedalling with my knees under my chin. Also the bike storage area is a bit neglected. Rough timber frames that don't properly support the bikes and no internal light that I could find. It wouldn't take a massive investment to clad the inside, put some bright lights in, fit a multi bike storage rack, scrap the existing stock and buy a selection of new bikes, Road, Mountain and Chopper.

The main purpose of our visit is to celebrate our honeymoon so for that it was so quiet and the stuff were very friendly and always greet you with a big welcoming smile we really like it in here. The building it self was very beautiful and when you enter you can feel so warm like you are entering your home. The view from our room was so frish and nice you can see grass and squirrels running through it also the breakfast was yummy and healthy . I like that they provided bycicles to take rides if you like. The internet was fast and free

We loved the style of the Inn: simply amazing in each single detail. Entering the Inn you have the sensation to be in a peaceful world. But the good thing is that you are close to the best spots in LA, Marina del Rey and Venice beach. We enjoyed the afternoon wine and cheese on the balcony from where we could watch the fantastic nature in front of us. The room was great, although a little noisy if we left the window open. The air conditioning was noisy as well, but we tried not to leave it on for too long. The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good, although we would have appreciated more variety (e.g. 2 kind of cakes instead of one or some of the great cookies we received on our arrival). More spare cutlery and plates would have helped as well. As already said, the location was perfect to go sightseeing and very close to LAX airport as well. I would definetely recommend this place and stay there again and again.
