Inn At Union Square  

The complimentary drinks and nibbles for happy hour each evening when you can get to meet other guests in a tiny but quaint dining room on two floors of the inn. The location right next to Union Square is outstanding. The staff were really helpful and so keen to make our stay a wonderful experience.

This was THE most amazing customer service we have ever experienced . The staff can not do enough to help . Ken , Ann & Omar were amazing . We got upgraded to a suite on arrival and they really have thought of everything. The rooms were lovley , very clean and comfortable with bottled water and luxury bath robes . we received fresh cookies at bedtime and the wine tasting & nibbles each evening were fantastic . The one night we couldn't make the get together we were offered a bottle in our suite !!! We returned to find it on ice waiitng for us with a box of chcolates ! We were blown away by the complimentary breakfasts, the location right on Union Square and everything about the service .

We couldn't stay another week !!

Ann at the front desk took excellent care of us! She was helpful and seemed excited to make sure we had a good experience. The hotel is perfectly located for all the shopping and restaurants near Union Square. Stay here!

This was a seriously good hotel! great value for money. They had a wine promo when we arrived and we met other guests. For location and friendly service this is a top spot.

No water for a while on Day 2 Nobody manned the front desk most of the time. This was irritating as I was staying on the 6th (top) floor for 3 days. There was no space to have breakfast so I went out every day

The staff was fabulous, we liked the evening reception, the breakfast, and the room was decorated nicely.

It is starting to show wear with chipping paint, stained grout in the bathroom, and sagging furniture.

The Inn at Union Square is an excellent boutique hotel in the heart of San Francisco. The simple breakfast and evening wine tasting are a nice touch.

Excellent service, many nice additions such as wine and cheese in the evening and breakfast in the morning. Also excellent location and value for money.

Only problem was apparently not the hotel's fault. I asked for a room with a lot of natural light and the front desk said they never got this message from booking.com. As a consequence we faced a solid brick wall.

Truly the staff make this hotel. They go out of their way to help, smile and generally ensure you have a great stay. The bed was very comfortable, and the breakfast excellent.

The building is very odd, with awkward windows most of which don't have any sort of view. No airconditioning although this was not a problem as it was cold during my stay - although the rooms do have ceiling fans that work well.

Small bathrooms, but then again it's in an historic building. Windows opened to a small space between two buildings. Pretty, but small breakfast rooms (2) with only one table each.

Hospitality. Quality of the breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Convenient location conveying safety for female guests. Nicely appointed room. Quiet.

Nothing to speak of. I did wonder if the room would be too warm in the summer with no air conditioning.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Good central location. The bedroom was a little cramped but having an adjoining sitting area helped. Breakfast was good and the wine and cheese in the evening was a nice touch.

The carpet in the room seemed a little stained and wornout. Some general upgrading of the hotel rooms would be good.

The location and staff are excellent for business and shopping around Union Square. The rooms vary from small double to large kings and all are nicely furnished. This is an exceptional value in San Fran.

The double bed room we had in 2011 was small.

Great location, wonderful staff, comfortable spacious room. They upgraded us to suites at no extra cost. Great breakfast, wine and cheese at 5 and warm chocolate chip cookies at 8 pm. Highly recommend. It is a jewel.

The Inn is centrally located within the very active union square location. The location is a dream for the keen shoppers! Easy walk to the bart station for those using the bart from the airport and the cable car runs literally 50m away with an easy walk to the first / last stop on powell. Special mention to Wayne the house keeper who is very welcoming and the nightly wine and cheese hour is an additional treat! Staff are very friendly and super helpful. Site manger was kind enough to work me down to the bart station when i had done a little too much shopping and had one too many bags. Highly recommended and family friend place. Will return one day and have started advising all family and friends to stay here!

There is only one lift.. But I guess it adds to the charm of the place as an additional lift would be out of place.
