the cookies, and the pleasant staff
The photos that appear on line do not give an honest view of the rundown condition of the motel.
Old. Ran down. Hallway and room carpet is filthy. Beds are old and saggy. Washer and dryer are filthy. Wallpaper is peeling off. Holes on walls. Right next to train tracks and freeway.
Rooms are very comfortable and pretty!! Nice linens, comfy bed nice pillows. Also quiet and they allow dogs. We are in Caldweel about 4 times a year. Finally found the perfect spot.
The pillows were very comfortable and the pet area was nice. When we reported we found a pizza box behind the tv the Mgr. was super in her response. In a very short time we received a call from the GM and again were made to feel like they cared, and resolved the issues. In all fairness the night clerk could have had an off night.
Found a pizza box behind the tv. The coffee pot was not clean, it had old residue in the coffee holder. The night clerk on duty when we checked in, seemed a little put upon when we were dissatisfied with the first room, as it smelled bad, and we requested a different room. we had a deluxe queen room w/2 beds a table, desk, tv etc. but only had 1 chair with a max occupancy of 4. The breakfast was not real appetizing so we skipped that.
Ok so I probably got lucky being in the quiet part of the hotel with a window looking out on the trees in the back of the property. But, the bed was so comfortable. Really luxurious bedding with a ton of fluffy and overstuffed pillows. Some were a little flatter too so it was nice to have a choice. The room was clean, but the hallway carpeting needed changing or a good steam clean. The sides of the pool were filthy dirty - I didn't even want to touch the sides of it. It was nice that they had a jetted hit tub, but the jets only worked on one side. I decided to stay an extra night at the last minute and the front desk lady was very helpful and friendly about it, but failed to tell me I would need to get my card re-programmed because it automatically stopped working the next day at check out time which was very inconvenient with dogs needing to go out and our room being on opposite end from front desk. Breakfast was great for complimentary continental... Waffles, biscuits and sausage gravy, boiled eggs, etc. Coffee was ok - wish hotels would provide better to go cups. Overall I really enjoyed my stay.
Dirty hallway and stair carpeting. Failing to tell me my card needed to be reactivated because of last minute decision to stay extra night. Dirty pool sides.
Park like area, picnic tables in area. Enclosed pool and spa. We stay here because it is close to family living in Caldwell but next time will ask for a room above ground.
Our room was on the lower level, which meant below ground. Even though A/C was running, room was muggy and small.
air conditioner a little noisy
Lack of nearby restaurants
Good continental breakfast, loved the make yourself waffles so they were hot and crispy. Loved the kid pool and full size pool. Nice clean room, beds were comfortable.
Pool was a little cold- we were all shivering after 30 minutes. Most of the channels on the tv didn't get very good reception so there wasn't a lot of variety to watch.
the staff and close to the freeway
the property is old. the carpet is old and dirty
extremely soft beds with pillow top mattress, had to pull in roll way, take mattress off, put on floor to sellp
The front desk staff was rude!
no elevators, extremely loud air conditioner unit, noise in hallway, over-crowded pool. rooms smaller than they appear in pictures. one ice-maker for 3 floors
Bed was very comfortable, although people who like a firm bed wouldn't have cared for it. We also really liked the electronics outlet by the bed - very useful.
Would have liked a chair to sit in to read - the desk chair was fine, but that only allowed one of us to sit.
it was great
clean room - large TV. - misc. like microwave - frig. etc. breakfast
a little spendy but I can still afford it. needs extra plug in at desk for computer. I didn't see any or they were all used up.
loved the bed. loved that I could have my dog. Liked the location.
The stairs. We are getting older and stairs are getting hard. The room was not as clean around the edges as I would have liked
We did 3 La Quinta hotels in a row. This was the less good one. It was ok, but the others were much better.
Indoor 24 hour pool and spa. Breakfast is great.
Kids loved the pool and I did like when I asked for a new room they were quick to switch us.
They were painting and it stunk like paint and the halls were full of remodel materials.
Staff was awesome
The staff was friendly and very efficient!
The hallway floors were in need of a vacuuming.
Fitness equipment was down till reps could come set up new. Room had been smoked in by previous guest, cigarette butts in middle of hallway. No topping for waffles besides syrup.
beds were very cmfortable
terrible location to get to needs a remodel did not have my room for me ground level near parking
The bed was super comfy
The bathroom and room were both pretty small and seemed crowded. Maybe that's just me being claustrophobic?
