It was time for a new mattress for our bed. Breakfast was no good for gluten free. Hard boiled eggs were gone by 9 ("We can't make more."); that left yogurt.
We walked to the cruise terminal and up and down Seawall Drive. Many restaurants in the area.
small parking lot or parking areaother than that everything was good
location to the beach breakfast and just overall experience with the property
Staff was not very helpful and I observed one male staff member spitting on hotel wall. Also, $10 for a gulf view was not worth it.
Location on water was beautiful. Room was large and comfortable.
The room and beds were very clean, but there were a few hairs in the bathtub, some gummy bears in the bathroom floor and a child or dog medicine applicator left by itself in the bathroom trashcan. I think someone missed the bathroom on cleanup. A minor inconvenience overall, but worth noting.
Location was excellent. Right on the seawall, with lots of restaurants nearby. Seems renovated w/ii the last 5 years. Breakfast was tame: waffles, eggs, bagels and cereal, but free and fills you up. Standard La Qunita fare.
Nothing bad. Just a little light on housekeeping.
Location was great! Trish and Cathy are awesome. They are painting the exterior but there was no problem for guests.
Building can use some upgrading!!!
Staff very accommodating and friendly.
staff somewhat apprehensive of dog even though she was crated when unattended and reluctant to keep up with housekeeping.
close to beach and nearby places to see
My room was right by a stairwell and the traffic was almost constant during the night and it was hard to sleep
Room furniture was old, black stains on chair was aweful! Motel looked old! Not worthy of the price paid! Very disappointed !
The air conditioner ... I could not get the room to cool off even after lowering the thermostat. It was very uncomfortable = and its only March!! I can't imagine what it would be like in July.
The staff was very nice. One of the cleaning ladies even took the time to go and fill my ice bucket on the floor below.
Our room was in a corner which did not have convenient parking. We did not get an ADA room as we had requested. My mobility impaired partner had a hard time navigating from our parking in the front through the lobby to our corner room.
Location and being able to have our dog with us.
That we didn't get a Gulf view room
Friendly staff, comfortable room, great breakfast choices, location
Parking was always a fight there are few spots, but it's close to everything and we walked to everything. Visiting strand street area we drove but walked across the street for all beach access.
This hotel is close to all the action and we felt very safe there. The room was clean, updated, and always smelled great. We were looking for a great deal in a close hotel.. We found it here.
The only thing I didn't like about this hotel is that there was not a Gideon's Bible in the night stand. This was the first hotel I have ever stayed at that didn't have a bible in the room.
The Wi-Fi connection was a must! Traveling with teenagers would be impossible without it. Also, the pet friendly policy was a nice surprise.
Old, dated appearance, didn't appear well maintained.
close to the beach
Went to eat and all egg's were gone , I can not eat sugar so I had to go out to eat, that was one of the reasons I picked this was for the morning meal.
We only stayed for one night before our cruise from Galveston. Great loation with sea view from our room. Nice hotel for that price and location, breakfast better than expected.
Booked a suite called hotel and told them i would be late arrival 9-10p due to Mardi Gras traffic and not to give my room away because i knew they were booked solid. I was assured this was not a problem. When we arrived we were in a tiny room bad location. Room was dirty and stinky. Room keys did not work after we returned to our room at midnight, and then again next morning. Would never stay here again.
It was not a question of "dislike", just an observation. The exterior of the over-all building is showing signs of age and the relentless assault from the salt air. Just appeared somewhat long in the tooth.
The Location was very good and the hotel staff were superb. Went out of their way to be helpful and were very gracious. Breakfast was great !
Front desk staff was not as friendly as they could have been. May be it was just an off day.
The Exterior of the building is generally showing signs of age and the constant battle with the coastal salt-air environlment. But the location is great, and the over-all value was and will hopefully continue to be as good as can be found.
The La Quinta personel were extreemly helpful to us, from calling taxis, to storing our luggage, making change and giving us suggestions on the local attractions. The bed was VERY comfortable and the room lwas clean and tidy.
Better shampoos and conditioners would be nice. Just been around awhile, could use a face lift.
Stayed here for the Santa Hustle. Staff was the best thing - friendly, accommodating, made sure everything was ok.
Very close to everything we love about Galveston. Our second stay at this hotel. Great staff, good breakfast, very comfortable room.
the "sinkhole" in the bed
