Location if the hotel.
Elevators were slow, and the bathroom was small.
Excellent location. Attractive lobby and bar. Clean, comfortable room. Nice rooftop seating area - - but we learned about this from other hotel guests. No staff member advised us of this amenity.
1. Desk clerk Hima Patel, who checked us in around 4:00 p.m. on 9-18-14, did not welcome us, did not make eye contact during registration process, was aloof, robotic; gave us impression she could not have cared less that we were customers! 2. At 4:30 a.m. on 9-21-14, a drunk was banging on our door for several minutes, yelling for his friend. When I picked up phone to call desk, phone line was dead! We had no way to contact desk or security (which eventually did show up & escorted drunk away)! 3. My "comment card" to hotel mgr, about these 2 incidents, was not acknowledged -- either while we were still in hotel, or after we returned home. This failure indicates indifference, on part of mgmt., to customer's concerns
Nice old historic hotel. Very small bathroom. No microwave but still liked the closeness to every thing we wanted to do. Walking distance to most attractions. Hard to find at night time and not used to Chicago downtown drivers.... Worth the money.
Parking is the worst. Wifi should be more generous.
Location, friendly staff
Thin walls so a bit noisy at night, room decor a bit tired, wifi only free in lobby
location, room size sleep quality person checking luggage and getting cabs was superior
no free computer access in room only small area in lobby used for computer access no early entry to rooms - even though they were not full the previous night
The Bar area was poor
All the rest
Room was next to the fans from the airco and very noisy
Location Garage across the road for which you pay dearly but to be expected
Staff were unresponsive, you are one of the masses Building is old and the rooms are older and not very clean. Accumulation of years of dirt. Rooms smelled. Stale. Any oxygen? Bad value for the amount they charge really.
Excellent location. Room is ok. They offered luggage storage after checkout for free.
For the price, it looks quite sloppy inside.
The location was good. The rooms were clean.
There was a long line at check-in. They only had two people checking customers in and bellmen were just standing around. The rooms were run down and smelled musty. Very tiny bedroom and bathroom. A dirty rag was left on the desk chair. There were no ice buckets or a place to get ice and at 4:30 the bar was not even open.
Location. Nice shower.
Room much smaller than in pictures. Small bathroom.
The room was spacious, clean and the bed was very comfortable. It is an older hotel so the bathroom was small. Can't beat the value for the perfect location right off Michigan Ave! Would stay here again.
The cost was low and the location was excellent
The fan in the bathroom didn't work and there was mold on the ceiling. The carpet in the halls was threadbare and very dirty. We had to prop open the hall door to dry out our room after a shower.
I like being close to Michigan Ave and the transit. For the price you just cannot beat it. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only downer was the rooftop vista. Kinda expected more to be up there. Great place!!
Dirty Windows Stained Carpet Dirty Towels Hair in Sink Iron dirty
Nice staff and nice bar and lobby area
The hallway otside the room was dirty and there was no ice machine on my floor. The is free wifi only on the lobby
Door locks did not work, old carpets, amnetites were terrible, instead of glass tableware all were plastic, very cheap
The location was excellent, magnificent mile right on the doorstep and navy pier just minutes walk. Housekeeping staff were lovely and extremely pleasant. Nice room and comfy bed.
The reception staff weren't rude but they were far from delightful and didn't seen all that happy to help you. The room was absolutely freezing, I spotted a few hairs in the bathroom and in the shower which for me is a big no no when arriving at a hotel and also the noise was horrendous our room was right next some sort of generators outside and right outside our door was a vending machine which made noise all through the night. All in all it wasn't an awful experience but was far from the best and really isn't value for money!
Location was good. Employees were polite and professional.
AC unit was loud when the compressor kicked on. I was not able to sleep due to the AC unit.
Location was good...was clean. Terrace was nice
Bar was lame. Bathrooms were way too small.
I really liked how well priced this hotel is in comparison to it being right in River North/Michigan Ave, which is where the heart of the activity is. I also like the rooftop and in house bar. In addition to the cleanliness of the room, the 1 bedroom room has everything you need for a good price.
The attendance staff need to learn how to do a more varied array of services. I had to move in a different line because the attendant didn't know how to process me as a stayover. Also, they didn't tell me about the security deposit of $50 until after I noticed it on my bank account and had to ask. This should be communicated at check in.
Great location, friendly staff, decent room, clean and comfortable, coffee making facilities, close proximity (i.e. joined on to lobby) to Italian coffee shop = convenient breakfast, Hyatt Nova is a very nice Armenian restaurant across the street. Really enjoyed my stay here.
Bearing in mind the price/location I feel it is unfair to complain about very, very minor details.
The location was fantastic, close to the beach and tourist attractions. A nice hotel with nice rooms and lobby
The young woman who checked us in was perhaps the rudest member of hotel staff I have ever encountered, whether in the States or otherwise. Not so much as a simple hello or welcome, a courtesy i would afford to anyone I meet for the first time, and a courtesy I expect when checking into a hotel. She simply demanded " credit card and passport" and barely made eye contact as she processed our check in. She seemed almost contemptuous toward us and our presence. Not a nice experience
Location was good...rest other things were ok.
No wifi facility in room
