Smoke in casino
The view from our room was very, very nice. It appeared to be well appointed. The lounge, Wendell's Lounge, was very nice. Relaxing after hiking with a nice beer or wine, looking at Sierra Blanca. Nice, nice.
While we did not have a bad experience, the 2 days we spent at the Inn were not without problems which could easily be fixed. First, in the bathroom, there are no hooks -where does that cozy bathrobe hang while I shower? As there is no hook near the shower-over-tub, the towel had to be on the floor during my shower. Not so good. The remote and the TV didn't like each other. To change stations or turn it off, one had to get out of bed and be one foot away from the sensor to elicit ANY response from the TV. There was an horrendous drone outside our room, 24-7, which made us keep the fan ON the entire duration of our stay there-that was a white noise which drowned out the loud drone. We suspect it was from the HVAC system. We kept the bathroom door closed as is suggested by the "Glad you are our guest" book in the room. However, this did NOT make a dent the noise. We had 2 choices for food. EXPENSIVE or casino style buffet which lacked creativity and taste. An example: an "a la' carte chicken breast dinner at Wendell's [$$$] is $29-dinner for 2 at the buffet, with wine, was $28.33. Hmm-other restaurants were closed as it wasn't the right season, I guess. The concierge deferred to any one who was NOT Anglo-I waited through 2 people and 3 phone calls tho I was "there" first.
Stay was generally quiet. Buffet breakfast and supper were good prices. Food was okay, nothing outstanding, but good for the price. Service was excellent in the buffet.
they put us in smoking room I didn't request smoking
The location of the resort is great, and the inside is beautiful. Also great restaurants inside and close by activities.
They charged my card when i checked in and put a hold on my card, and when we checked out they charged us again and put another hold on the card and said the 1st hold would go back within 3 to 15 days... just doesnt make sense... really thinking about going back or not.
serenity, view, lake, near to ski resort, Spencer theater & horse museum, had seen wild deer in the surroundings....
The Inn of the Mountain Gods is a beautiful resort at a magnificent location.
The staff we very difficult to deal with. I stay approximately 150 nights per year in hotels. I was looking at this property for a large corporate event. They did not seem to care. Very difficult to deal with.
We had already checked out, but couldn't get out of town because of a snowstorm; we drove back to iotmg knowing that many would be in a similar situation and that we may not be able to stay. When we arrived at the front desk, the friendly young lady told us that staying in our previous room would be no problem. It was fast and so convenient. We appreciate it.
We had a great experience.
Ambiance Location Full service don't have to go anywhere if you don't want to.
Parking was difficult, Long walk to room. No laundry facilities.
The view from from my room. Winter Wonderland. Food was excellent. Staff courteous and helpful.
Beautiful place. Location wonderful and staff very attentive.
The pillows and bed were horrible. Ruined the night of rest for both of us
I love the "ambience" of the Inn, the View is spectacular nestled in the trees. Front desk was friendlier this time! The rooms are very comfortable, loved the bed!
TV remote didn't work half of the time, the bathroom floors could have been much cleaner! And the Casino dealers are un-professional and terrible at their jobs! The Comedians at the Comedy Club were horrible except for the head liner!
Had a blast! Ty!
I can't say enough good things about the Inn of the Mountain Gods. Aside from the fun aspect of the casino, the location itself is very relaxing and beautiful. The restaurants offer a great variety of good food. Our room was large and comfortable. We plan to make a yearly visit to the resort in the future.
We stayed in a standard room and the bed, wow, the bed was very comfortable. The room was large, it had a sitting area and a table with chairs, along with the bed. We were on the first floor and could walk outside, right next to the fire pit. Of course theres's a casino so smokey smelling in the hallway in front of the casino but I don't think the smoke was as bad as some other casino's where I have stayed. The fitness/wet area was good, the locker room had a sparse, lonely feeling.
The one nice restaurant onsite was too expensive, the bar restaurant was really lousy food and the buffet restaurant was good but it was always the same food, got boring.
The view was beautiful
When we told them about the tv remote not working they sent someone over to take care of it
Room was excellent
Meal at Wendell's was raw.
Great room and location.
No refrigerator in room
The Christmas decorations.
The bed was like a bowl, we tried to climb out all night long!
No adult drinks at the tables
The check-in clerk gave us a very nice room with a view. Had light dinner in the bar lounge when we arrived - very convenient, food was very good and the service was excellent.
My brother-in-law was locked out of his refrigerator and could not get to his medications with out going to the front desk to get it unlocked. He was then charged $6, which I had to get reversed the next AM since I paid for his room. Very confusing and difficult. Would suggest a change here.
bed was uncomfortable and room was not very clean.
