Fantastic historic compound with modern comfort. Best breakfast in Santa Fe. Dan has brought the Inn of the Tourquiose Bear up to first class Santa Fe standards.
Everything else was terrific; we extended our stay 3 days!
The O.Henry bed was a bit over the hill, but livable.
The friendly innkeeper, the beautiful rockwork outside and the many sitting areas. Especially the location within walking distance of the Plaza. Heavy on charm.
Not much. Itbwas excellent, and although a bit pricey, it was worth every penny.
-The rooms are appointed nicely with many books and cozy reading spots. -The lovely long dining room, excellent breakfast provided by Dan and the friendly guests who gathered there each morning. -The grounds are lovely is as the building itself.
Lack of dining spots within suitable walking distance in the evening.
The historic location and charming natural beauty of this b & b plus its closeness to the central plaza make it a perfect choice for a get-away weekend. Greg was so very attentive. I plan on a return visit!
There were a lot of stairs and multilevels, so I wouldn't recommend it for anyone who has balance or climbing issues.
Greatest guy with huge job
Rough footing & ancient plumbing
Picturesque setting, rich history Excellent breakfasts
Having to share a bathroom
The pies that the innkeeper made in the afternoons were the highlight of my trip! The Inn was very cute and had beautiful grounds. I loved all the pumpkins decorating the patios. We stayed in the smallest room on the property but didn't mind the size. It was still comfortable.
The location was about a 15 minute walk to the downtown area. There were three restaurants within a 5 minute walk.
Parking Lot was gravel and was hard to park a motorcycle.
We enjoy walking and were able to walk both to the plaza and to the railyard area from this b&b. The owner-host is delightful and invited guests to gather for a glass of wine and snacks at 5 PM each day. The company at these gatherings, and at the common breakfast table, made for a good conversation. It almost felt as if we were staying in someone's home.
We would have preferred a walk-in shower and no stairs inside our room. We learned that these preferences could more easily have been accommodated if we had booked directly with the inn.
In some ways this is more a small hotel than bnb. It is peaceful. Dan, the owner, could not be more accommodating. He knows the city and is very informative and loves what he does. It is a healthy walk to town and good exercise from town to the site. The landscaping is beautiful. Breakfast is tasty and balanced. Good value.
What's not to like?
The inn is a beautiful property. I enjoyed the gardens and landscaping as it was so peaceful! Evening wine hour was looked forward to as we all shared our events of the day! Dan was a perfect gracious host honoring the needs of extroverts as well as introverts. Breakfast was looked forward to each day, we loved the smoothies Dan concocted! Highly recommend this Inn!!!
The owner personalized hospitality
Dont have water to drink in the room
It was very comfortable. Loved the new owner. He has a lot to do but sounds like he is planning on being there for the long haul. Great cook breakfast was wonderful.
The facility is in need of some repairs.
The room were very cozy and inviting and the food was awesome. One of the things I enjoyed most were the wine nights in which people sat together and just talked about their lives. It was a great way to interact with other guests. The location was just an easy walk to stores and restaurants which was perfect. Lastly, the owners were very gracious and friendly and made you feel like you had known them for years. It was an amazing weekend!
Innkeeper was very welcoming and obviously loved his inn.
Construction worker coming into the area where I was residing at 7 am and starting renovation work.
Robert, Ralph, Cody and Colt were tremendous! The guests were wonderful and pleasant. Mornings were a great opportunity to exchange previous day's visits and trips. Will have wonderful memories of them and the area.
Loved the charm of the Inn. Loved Robert! Loved the food at breakfast, delicious! Beds comfy and room very clean.
A few repairs needed to room, windows that did needed some repair. A "hand hold" close to tub/shower would have made it safer and easier to shower. Was nervous while bathing.
beautiful, historic, adobe, nicely furnished, friendly, excellent breakfasts, lovely gardens, great location, cultural history
shower head was too low.
Fair location for walking to Plaza and dinner at Tomasita's (2 miles round trip).
Bed in O'Henry Room was soft and sagging in the middle.
very comfortable, good and copious breakfasts, helpful hosts
All the comforts of home. Welcoming, relaxing, friendly!!!! Perfect!!!!!
Everything. The mood: laid back friendly, humorous and attentive at all times. Robert and Tom, who looked after things, and all of the friends and neighbors who were wont to drop by, made for a trip filled with entertainment and interest. The Inn itself is a place of ceiling beams and shining wooden floors, mellow rooms and with the atmosphere is a house that has been well lived in. Breakfast is a traveler's delight, with a wide choice, and the afternoon's regular "Refreshment Hour" is never a simple sixty minutes and always fun. The gardens are a great, bursting overflow of the region's best. Absolutely recommended.
