Located on Pennsylvania Avenue and just 2 blocks from the White House, this historic luxury hotel contains the Red Door Spa. Shops and a private limo service are also offered. It was a day layover for 25th wedding ani /50th birthday en route to Hawaii. Given room upgrade not quite a suite but corner room views both ways. Biggest chocolate strawberrys/and cake and cream ive ever seen as a special gesture and free. staff and conciege extra polite and helpful.As previous comments this is a luxury standard by which all others should be judged the besr hotel we have stayed in and weve stayed in some top ones. the hotel is steeped in history take the trouble to enquire???????.......superb hotel. Elevators broke down in the morning but i guess that can happen they had a gameplan for this and helpful porters .

Great location,friendly staff,valet parking staff are very friendly especially Yousuf. Hotel is good for families with kids. Room service menu is not great.

I loved the fact that I somehow got a night for $229, but above that, the service was excellent. I ordered room service at about 10:40 pm and was delighted with quick service of an amazing meal. Would have liked more info in the room about what the hotel offers, map, etc.

Fantastic location, close to White House and National Mall. Check in was delayed and then room switched several times (at check in) with no explanation. Hotel is not very handicapped accessible. Not able to go to Occidental Restaurant without going outside and then up several stairs.

The lobby, the bar, how nice and updated everything was and the room $42.00 a night to park. $13.50 for a box of peanuts from the in room bar.

Great location, very close to transportation. Attractive lobby. House keeping could have done a better job of cleaning. Light switches and wood doors were dirty, linens on one of the beds had stains on them.

Our room was not ready..so my daughter and I had to share a king bed. The check in and out took a very long time. The linens and towels were of poor quality for a up scale hotel. Not worth the money spent.

From check-in to check-out, everyone was friendly and helpful, and gave the impression they were glad we were there. The facility is beautiful and breakfast was outstanding. The only criticism would be the lack of vending machines when we wanted soft drinks in the evening - pretty limited selection in the minibar.

Hotel is historic, classy and clean. It is very conveniently located to all the attractions. We booked a room with king bed and pull out sofa and we got a room with no pull out so my kids had to share a cot! Very uncomfortable. They did not seem sorry and there were no other rooms available.

The location was fantastic. The history attached to the hotel made it even more special. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel even has complimentary admission to some venues in D.C. Loved and would highly recommend.

The room was spacious and large, it has a history. Walking distance to all main features of Washington DC. No much options with restuarants. The coffee machine is not working.
