room was plain, not worth the $225 per night. it looked like the holiday in set up that I wasn't expecting for a 4 star hotel. The lobby was beautifully decorated but the rooms needs more help.
The front desk staff was "stuffy" with no personality. We loved the valet/parking guys outside. They all made us laugh and joked with us!!! Their personality shined through while being professional.
Staff didn't answer the phone. Gym had no wipes to clean machines after use. Dining room carpets filthy. We were stuck on our floor for long periods waiting for elevators. When they did stop, they were full and you had to begin again. The whole place is shabby. It seems as no one is paying attention! I did report at checkout.
Rather small room space.
Historical attomosphire adn great view fro The Top of the Mark.
The staff at breakfast was the worst. I never complain but this almost ruined our trip.
The staff was excellent. Robert at the top of the mark was excellent, desk and front doormen were wonderful.
Parking is crazy expensive.
The location is excellent and the hotel is world class.
I had great time there, went to Top of the Mark! Great experience, fun!
The breakfast buffet was WAY OVER PRICED! Walking in the area was prohibitive because of the steep decline in all directions! You have to come back up!
Liked our room the most. We had a corner room with 2 windows in each direction. City view. The room was quiet and comfortable.
The give a small room for a family of 4. The beds were also small, my husband and me are not big and we found the space very tight.
The location, stunning views of the city and the bay.
Rooms are small for what you pay, not extremely fancy as it looks online.
Sunday brunch at "top of the mark" was good, staff there was wonderful. George at the front desk was really helpful.
it has potentials but seems a bit neglected expected more from this company and especially at this price no points given to my IHG account as it was an booking.com booking!
the location the view the bar at the rooftop the history of the hotel some beautiful pieces of furniture
we had a very poor experience when Joe Biden stayed the two days we had so much going on. We had to cancel some plans when on the first day we were kept from our car and could not leave the lobby all total 75 mins Second day the same. It would have been common courtesy to offer free breakfastsn for the people stuck OR At a minimumna coffee station and pastries un the lobby while waiting Further the flyer "warning" of street Closuresnwas vague at best. There was no mention of hotel grounds lockdownn which effectively occured Bill Kaszton
Although a great view from "Top of the Mark", the room needs "upscaling".
Fantastic base from which to explore City. Great views from 15th floor room.
Parking rate is atrocious, yes, SF is expensive, but charging $54 plus tax (and then having to tip the valet) is simply put, daylight robbery! That's the cost of a rental or for that matter, a two-week stay could buy you a used Toyota
The central location and comfort it offered.
Wifi service was not included in the price of the room. A hotel of this quality, should provide free wifi to their clients. The bathroom was too small and difficult to move around in .
The staff was overall very friendly and helpful. Had an issue with room service, and the next day we had complimentary fruit and chocolate from the manager with an apology. The room was comfortable and beds were great.
Not the best bed. The fitness center was a joke.
Nice big rooms. Great view! Old world style.
It is a five star hotel. Big comfortable rooms with big fabulous beds and bathrooms to die for! Staff are brilliant, so helpful, especially the great guys on conciege! Always a big smile and a big welcome. Obviously it is expensive. But you pay for what you get... which is simply great value in a top class hotel!
Great people and location
Uncomfortable beds, limited service
The room was very well appointed, well priced for what was offered. We had a family emergency and had to fly home ahead of schedule. They went out of their way to accommodate us and really took a lot of stress out of the situation as a result. It was a time of sadness and to have a random person show such kindness was touching
There's a beautiful park directly across from the hotel with a fabulous playground. Great place to let the kids run or go do some morning tai-chi. One of the very best Italian restaurants -Nob Hill cafe - is just one block away. Also the trolley stops right outside the hotel... jump on and enjoy the sights!
Internet was $15/day. What a joke.
I could not get the value for the money.
The location is great
Bathroom smelled like smoke. Over priced.
Bellmen and doormen Helpful and very nice. Awesome view from top of the mark.
Rooms were older. Used to more upscale rooms and amenities. Absolutely hate double beds in rooms for adult families.
Staff and location. Concierge could be a bit more approachable.
