A comfortable stay and friendly staff - breakfast a highlight!
The hotel, up on a hill, offers great views and has a grand old hotel atmosphere, nice beds, relaxed but attentive service.
Internet is not included in the basic room price.
The hotel was in a great destination and close to union sq. the top of the mark bar was a superb addition to the hotel!
Rooms were not cleaned daily very well and dust accumulated after 3 days.
I thought it was a good hotel but not great based on the high price. I liked the location but my wife found it too far out of the way (up at the top of the hill).
Noisy outside early in the morning.
From the moment we arrived, every member of the staff did everything they could to make our stay as pleasant a possible. The front desk, doormen, etc., were wonderful, helpful, and extremely knowledgeable about the city. Our rooms had views that were to die for, and our accomadations were clean, roomy and beautiful. It was amazing staying on the top of Nob Hill and we felt like we were experiencing classic San Francisco. We will definitely be back!!! Don't miss a cocktail at sunset at The Top of The Mark - breathtaking!!!
The Top of the Mark was a wonderful place to capture the incredible view
Comfortable, great views, quiet Breakfast staff and food was excellent.
Smell of the room, size of bathroom. Limitations of lift, size and number. Lobby was disorganized when busy.
Average hotel No thing was bad
Location is on the highest point of Nob Hill. Though, distance is close to Union Sq. and fair to fishermen
The bed was AMAZING...MOST COMFORTABLE EVER ! Was a really nice touch having a complimentary cupcake plate waiting for my wife in the room for her b-day, very cool. The dude at the front desk, Aaron was very helpful and cool. And they were super cool about checking in early.
The band perfoming at Top of the Mark was way cheesy; the people trying to dance made it worse, haha!
Brought back memories from a family trip in the early '60's. Top of the Mark was fun for drinks, a light meal, music and dancing.
Very comfortable beds, nice quiet room of generous proportions, very good location for seeing the city's main sights. City view from Top of the Mark and serving excellent cocktails and light bites
Decor a little dated and dining options limited to Top of the Mark, which was quite pricey for a family breakfast, but quality very good.
Iittle tiny insects in bathroom'...need to have pest control check it out.
Bad location , small room
Great service. Beautiful rooms and quiet. Great view of the sf at night
Gojng up on a hill to get there.
Long discussion re the confirmated roomprice an included or not included price for the breakfast, even with a confirmatio from Booking.com
Good position from city centre. Comfort of sleep thanks to soft bed and pillow. Nice view from every room. Fantastic view from rooftop restaurant, even if casual dress is Not accepted. Staff polite and available to satisfy any request.
Windows frame a bit old, to be renewed as air came in. Parking too expensive.
Small and slow elevator
The hotel is first class from the service to the location to the restaurants. We loved everything about it and will definitely stay there again if we return to San Francisco.
Fee for parking and wifi.
Room a little small
1. Location. 2. Breakfast food and service. 3. Top of the Mark for night views and drinks.
1. Having to pay for an extra child's breakfast when we had already paid for 2 adults and 2 children when we booked. 2. Having to pay $6.50 for a bottle of water. 3. No key to mini bar. 4. limited coffee making facilities in bedroom for 2 adults and 3 children. 5. Had to wait 45 minutes for a taxi to go to the airport. 6. Air conditioning too noisy to operate throughout night. 7. No extension of room or provision of courtesy room to freshen up whilst waiting for airport transport.
Also, bad location and service

All the staff are very friendly and helpful. Just ask any of them about anything and they will give you a valuable advice.
Staff all very good, nice restaurant.
Water pressure in the shower was very poor (2 rooms checked). Parking expensive $52+ per day
