InterContinental The Clement Monterey    

Right from the start upon parking our car in valet was A+ service from that point forward. Every member of the staff no matter at what capacity were helpful, friendly, professional, and made you feel special in every way possible. Great staff. The room were very nicely appointed and my wife loved the bathroom soaps, shampoos & conditioners. If you could please let us know where we can purchase a set of every bath product we used that would be wonderful.

The price was a little bit on the high end for not getting a water/ocean front view. Facing Cannery Row street view was nice, however, during the later evening hours as the streets bustled with the bar hopping crowd it made it rather unpleasant to have our sliding door open while we slept. Other than that our stay was very enjoyable.

Staff professional and very friendly. Great job. They tried and they delivered. Concierge was fantastic, front desk staff was great. Room was nicely decorated and bed was very comfortable. Nice dining room with friendly staff.

The area of the hotel in the Cannery district is a bit tacky. Not the fault of the hotel but I can see upscale clients seeking to avoid the area if it continues to deteriorate. In sum, the hotel might soon become too upscale for the Cannery area.

the bed was great.bathroom was good design,

bathroom is cold, no refrigerator for my stuff,and no microwave.no ashtrays outside in back by the bike trail. the tv stations were most kids and sports and the HBO station always had lines could not even watch it.

Location, it was immaculately clean. The room was a good size and bed was very comfortable. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Bar and restaurant more expensive than other places in the vicinity. I think they should offer free wi if.

Very loud live music from restaurant nearby until late in the night

Beautiful hotel and great staff. It is right on Cannery Row so you don't have to drive to see lots of things. Great walking area.

the hotel looked very new was very well designed, spacious rooms and beautiful decorated... very 'zen'

my room (449) and that of my friend next door was extremely noisy. I thought it was the airco but that seemed to be switched off. I could not sleep and after calling the reception and sending a maintenance person up, they switched off a ventilator on the roof (our room was right underneath the roof and ventilator). At seven it was switched on again and instantly awake. After spoken to the duty manager, extremely polite and he reuced the price which is a way helpfull but isn't. It ruined my night after an already troublesome days suffering jet lag. I don't belief that nobody before complained about this noise and it's simply not acceptable that the hotel has not properly addressed this problem. Also I found out that my friend who was two rooms away from me also complained to the manager about noise and she is hearing impaired!!!. Unfortunately she didn't got a redcution on her bill !!!! The room rate was USD 280,-, not a cheap B&B.

The wonderful staff who made recommendations for shopping, food and sight- seeing. Helpful and friendly staff made the stay memorable. The staff were also very helpful in giving directions which was very important as it was our first time driving in Monterey and California.

Loved the fireplace in the room. Also had third floor view to harbour overlooking square and Monterey restaurant. Happy Hour and Flights were an added bonus. Staff most amiable and Louis behind the bar a total asset. Business centre small but available.

Being charged for wifi - thank goodness for business centre. Didn't think valet parking charges appropriate for motorbike that was self parked. Also sticker put across helmet visor which did not readily peel off and could have been most hazardous were it not for the help of your parking attendants at the lobby. Also, the fireplace did not turn off after 30 minutes as programmed by hotel. Called for assistance at 0500 whereupon chap declared battery low and would send in maintenance at a respectable hour during the day.

The Beds

Friendly reception, nice interior design, good size of rooms.

Did not like restaurant, poor service and bad food and "pool" is a joke. Head waiter in restaurant was a disgrace: unabble to record the order correctly, not attentive at all, shoving away (litterally) younger waiter who at least was trying to be helpful Will defintely not go back there. Also expensive for what it iS.

Hospitality was second to none. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was spot on and the bed was comfortable. It was nice to be close to all the key sights of Monterey and the vicinity to our favorite places in Monterey

We were disappointed in the valet parking fee of $22 per night especially when your already paying north of $250 per night. Also a downer was the charge of Wi-Fi per day. We ended up going down to Starbucks where it was free Wi-Fi.

Still hate that in the most expensive hotels you have to pay so much for wifi.

Hotel was luxurious-nice rooms sheets, amenteties. Nice workout space. Lots of restaurants and shopping. Close to wonderfull Monterey Bay Aquarium

Very congested area. Mandatory $22 valet parking, Families shaould know" pool "about 6 feet wide and pretty much a lap pool..

My Partner and I really liked the Hospitality, the door being opened for us, being asked what are plans were upon our departure actually helping us with a map and directions to the 17 mile. We really enjoyed the room, the bath tub was wonderful and relaxing. Since we recently located to Northern Ca, from San Diego we have not has a restful night sleep yet. The move has been extremely straining on our body, and minds. The Monterey trip was spontanious and an escape from our daily adjustments. I explain this to say that " The Clement Monterey" was our first Great night sleep in the 6 months we have been in Northern CA. The bed and room provided an energy that took us there and away from our new enviroment. It would have been completely perfect to have had a room with a Ocean view. We enjoyed the Aquarium, and shopping, the room service and our Breakfast at the " C " . One place I would love to return and have a second chance to really utilize the Spa and all " The Clement Monterey" ammentities.

When booking the room the same day we arrived, we specified a room with bath tub and ocean view, along with an included breakfast.. Upon arrival and check in we entered the room to find a shower no bath and a view of the street of shops. No ocean view. Also there wasn't any info given to us about the included breakfast. We didn't want to make it a big deal however we were spending a day of work on the hotel for the night just for the room. We asked about a possible room change with one with a tub. The concierge at the desk was happy to switch us to a room with a tub, I then asked about the Breakfast that was included in the room and she asked for the booking print out I gladly gave it to her. She gave us a voucher and said it was for the resturant "C". We went back up to the third floor for the 4th time and moved rooms. We were given room 317. Happy to see we had a tub. then we proceeded to unload our bag and head out to h walk the evening strip of shops and listen to the ocean. Having left San Diego and living near the water to relocate to San Jose its been 6 months since we were close to the water. It was late about 9pm after a long day at work , the drive and walk the strip of shops and listened to the ocean.We were excited to settle in for the night. Turned the Tv on, Ran a bath, ordered room service and as we set the room up for the food we decided to open the curtain and just relax. The view was a building wall. there was nothing to stare into or look at. We put in long days with if we are lucky one maybe 2 days off a month. The view was a bummer. At the end of our one night stay we paid close to $427.13. with room service, valet, and the tips at breakfast, valet and room service no view. Again it was the best night sleep we have had yet. Just would have loved to have had a room with an ocean view or at least an option for an upgrade to have had the ultimate experience.
