Pleasant staff Close to downtown San Diego
Right off the freeway, so traffic noise was annoying
Nearly everything. Great service and good food
Stayed in a 2 bed-dorm with bunkbeds. the beds are very wobbly (if one moves the other will feel it)
Staff was amazing. All of them were super nice and ready to help you with anything. Bathrooms and rooms were constantly cleaned. Walking distance to Balboa Park. Enough bus and train lines nearby.
The neighborhood is great, but it`s very residential. You'd have to walk a great deal to get to the nearest pharmacy or market. No air conditioning in the room, but the vents were enough if you're somewhat used to a hot weather. Not their fault, but keep in mind that when you share a room with 7 strangers, it's bound to happen that one (or more) of them have zero consideration for the others. So brace yourself for messy spaces, waiting too long to use the bathroom, or loud noises late at night.
Friendly excellent staff, tons of activities, friendly guests. It was like staying at a friends place.
I didn't like having to leave.
Openness and enthusiasm of the staff.
Staff here are reaaaaaaaaly nice and friendly.
No parking lots....we have to pay extra fees and park the car on public places.
dirty.. messy and noisy..
ITH is in a great location to get around the city. Its a very clean and comfortable place and the staff and other travelers were all very friendly. The setup of the hostel, including breakfast and dinner, creates a very warm and social atmosphere. I will definitely be back next time I come to San Diego!
I don't understand it's rate over 8/10. Wifi was very hard to access. And also some staff was not friendly. Location is so so, not very bad.
not too bad, not too dood
a little noise
Friendly & helpful staff, nice ambient, extremely clean, quiet at all times. Hot water at anytime, clean towels & sheets.
Outstanding, friendly & helpful staff; meals; engaging decor, and the cute mascot, Ted-- all made my stay so pleasant!
A few guests were not as curteous as one might hope for. Perhaps educating travelers that older persons will not 'spoil' their party atmosphere in the least. Also, hostels make travel more affordable for those on tight budgets.
Great fun staff, whole place has good energy, lotsa rad freebies (food, coffee, wifi, daily activities, ipads to use), other guests were cool, close to water/Little Italy, cozy house turned hostel, outdoor patio area, massage table and sunny deck chairs outside! for the price, clientele, vibe, and free meals, it's the ideal spot for those on budget and who like being social and having fun :) meet ppl from all over, dine/drink together, and have a fantastic experience
Wee hard to sleep in room by tv/balcony when ppl partying hard, could use big lockers, sheets clean but mattress cover teensy bit dirty, wee far to walk downtown but decent locale close to some cool parts of town - skip Mexico trip if you don't have re-entry visa to US. otherwise a really great place and soooo cheap! positives totally outweigh negatives and you get more for your $$. this place is run with a lot of heart and staffed by good souls (sidenote: hot) who will fix any big issues should they arise...
Location is ok, wifi's perfect. Some staff were very nice. Nice food they served
Great if you want to meet with lots of cool people from all over the world.
The hostel is amazing: great location, friendly staff, very clean, 2 meals included, activities every day and really safe. I'd tell anyone to stay here and I actually plan on staying again next year!!!
Absolutelly nothing bad to say.
the staff is friendly and the roommates are good, too. The hostel is located in downtown and it's easy to get there from the greyhound.
nothing to hotel but there is not so many smart shops like 7/11 - you have to walk about several blocks to get one near the petrol station.
Staff, Open and Friendly atmosphere.
The bed sheet were full of dirt and hair
LOVED the cost and the location. Dinner included, space to hang out, it was a lot of fun.
SO NOISY with young, often drunk (when off duty) careless staff.
staff, people, atmosphere
it was a bit cold, the windows were open the whole time...
The volunteer staff were really great. Very helpful. The hostel is really great for budget travelers.
The atmosphere of this hostel was the best that either I or my friend have experienced. We left having made some amazing friends and wonderful memories. The staff was incredible. Can't say enough good things about this place!
Great hostel, people where nice, both breakfast and dinner were very good, daily fun activities, good location in downtown san diego close by public transport, clean, definitely one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in, highly recommend to anyone.
I enjoyed the atmosphere of the hostel. Right at the first day I made friends there with who I did sightseeing the next couple of days. It was easy to get in touch with new people there. Everybody was cool and relaxed. Also the hostel itself was very nice to hang out. :-) they offer lots of activities and provide good breakfast and dinner :-)
Some of the People who work there, spoke only broken English.
Dinners to bring guests together, social activities, good atmosphere, nice breakfast Steve and Deniz were great receptionists, Colleen and Christine made delicious pancakes, I especially loved Pieras fruit salad. Catherine and Bradley lead fun daily activities
