Just had to stay over one night, arrived late, the staff helped find a good steak house a few miles away, had a good rest and continued travel first thing in the morning. It was good and right for our need.
Nothing in particular.
We had an end room at the back, looking out over trees, hills and green grass. Had everything we needed for a comfortable nights stay, and free coffee or tea and biscuits were provided at reception.
Turned the hotel signs off after 9pm, which made finding it on returning for an evening meal difficult......
Nice Views, at front and back. Convenient location. Clean and comfortable room.
Not overly welcoming at front desk, but were in the middle of watching a movie when I arrived. Decor could use an update, but it's just an aesthetic thing. Temperature dropped overnight outside, and inside. Pretty cold for a shower in the morning. YIKES!!!
When traveling in a new area, it's always a comfort to be able to ask the staff for suggestions on eating establishments, things to do etc. The staff was great.
Didn't like the fact that I didn't have a coffee pot in the room. I like that convenience.
This is my second stay at this establishment and it was every bit a pleasure as the first time around. This was a high travel weekend, fall foliage and other fall festivals going on around the area so the stay was a bit more expensive than the first weekend. As a New Englander I did understand why the cost was a bit more and expected it be. The staff was very friendly and helpful when needed and the room was nice and clean when I arrived. This will be the first place I will check any time I plan on staying in this area in the future.
Owner very hospitable and room was clean and neat. Good location
Outside night lights kept the room too light for sleeping.
The room was so nicely decorated and furnished. Very clean and homey!
The train that went thru twice in the night:(
location was the only plus
bed too soft, exterior lights to the entire hotel were off when we returned to the hotel in the evening (9pm). Had to keep car lights on just to see the lock on the door to open it. The hotel staff was nowhere to be found. If an emergency arose you couldn't count on them! The hotel was waaay over priced. The rooms are outdated and only minimally clean. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone.
Had a small frig and microwave
They did not have a/c on windows were open so room hot and frig not plugged in so took awhile to cool to use it beds were not comfortable and towels were thin and not enough
Location Value Cleanliness
The room was an adequate size for the wife and I. Very clean and neat. Shower was also very clean and water pressure was strong. Bed was comfortable and there were extra pillows and blankets in the closet. Quiet with a nice view. Pleasant and helpful staff. I would stay there again.
We loved the area with the mountains so close. We had a great time.
Very clean room. We have been to other chain hotels and inns, but must say the Clarendon has been the cleanest and well maintained.
When I asked about the local moose sightseeing tour (also highly recommended!), the lady at the front desk immediately called to inquire if we could be picked up at the hotel. Nice mountain view from the back of the room.
The hosts were very sweet and welcoming! It's a great place and the BEST motel we have stayed in so far, on our honeymoon :-)
Wish there had been a pool :-)
The room was very comfortable and welcoming. It was a home away from home. We had one bed. It was very comfortable. A little on the hard side but I prefer that. It is a very quaint and understated hotel. It is right on the main road so if you don't like hearing cars drive by, invest in some earplugs. However, I am a light sleeper so I need them regardless. The room was clean and came with amenities you can get from the major hotel chains. This would include a mini t.v. and fridge, a hair dryer (that seems to be important for some people...) and free wi-fi. There is a little seating area with a table and a desk beside the bed. The bathroom was clean and the shower was nice. I thought the price was very reasonable for the room, considering the location. All in all, I was completely satisfied and would stay again the next time I happen to me in New Hampshire
location, clean room, decent price
We booked 2 rooms through booking, while checking in only one room was reserved for us. It was a very busy weekend in the area and luckily the hotel had only one room left which we took.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was very comfortable and clean. I stayed two nights and the maid staff did a great job on my room while I was out sight seeing. I have already booked another stay here later this year.
Owners and value
I was charged more than the bargained price because the owner passes on the booking.com charge to her customers. I could have had a much better room with more amenities for 35 dollars less per night. I will never go there again. Lesson learned. When I brought my displeasure of the cost to her attention nothing was done and that's how I found out about the fee she pays to basically advertise with booking.com. Moreover, the beds were hard as a rock and I barely slept the 3 nights I stayed between the awful bed and the uncontrolled children next to me. I am completely disgusted.
Very reasonably priced. The reception we got was excellent, the couple was friendly and always had a smile. We were even given a coupon for reduced admission to a Home Show that was on that weekend. They also recommended a great restaurant (the Red Parka(?) near Conway ). Shower was great - lots of hot water with good pressure. Coffee, tea, cookies and energy bars at reception were appreciated. The room was big. We were expecting one queen bed and we got a room with 2 double/queen beds. :)
It was rainy on and off while we stayed there and our room always seemed to be clammy and have a damp air to it. The room was dark too, even when it was sunny. I guess this is good in mid-summer with high temperatures, but it was a bit depressing to walk into and we needed better lighting to put on make up. Some of the bath towels were very worn and needed replacing, threads were hanging off along the edges.
Room was very clean, although on a major hwy it was quiet, other guest were respectful of quient time for other guest. wouildn,t hesitate to stay there again.
CAN'T THINK OF ANYTHING THAT I DIDN'T LIKE
Good location with clean rooms although a bit outdated.
Mattresses are outdated and saggy. In room or lobby coffee would have been a big plus.
It was quiet.
Wi-Fi service was poor; connection kept cutting out. Also, I am quite sure that the room was advertized as having two separate beds, but there was only one.
Nice hotel goid views, clean, good location
