Islands Inn  

The Islands Inn is an older but clean and well maintained motel on the edge of the city of Anacortes. It's a nice walk into the main part of town, and the location is safe and fairly quiet.

The room was full of bed, and there wasn't as much moving room as I would have liked. The showerheads were low flow, but not a very good one, so the shower was not great.

We enjoyed the fireplace and the view from our room was great (the harbor). The staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable and extra blankets and a fan were cheerfully brought to our room. Breakfast was nice and elegantly presented.

I didn't like the tip jar by the breakfast. This was there because the lady behind the desk would drop an egg into boiling water for you. I consider that part of the breakfast offering - I don't like being solicited for tips in this way.

Fireplace

The staff was helpful and friendly and the room was reasonably clean.

The facility is very tired and outdated. I haven't use a real key to enter the room in a long time instead of a card system. Some of the light bulbs were burned out and the sink faucet was very difficult to use as it was very sticky. The TV was old - not a flat screen. One of the bedspreads had a huge tear in it. The inside of the room was somewhat updated with newer carpet, but the outside needs deferred maintainance. I'm 5'3" and I could not see out the peep hole as it was too high up on the door. I would not stay there again.

The front desk help was great. Good variety in the breakfast.

The toilet was very noisy in our room.

Room smelled, tile in bath was broken, cord on draperies broke, bed was very uncomfortable. The room was shabby and it was unpleasant. We only stayed one night, I could not wait to get out of there. The morning breakfast was stale muffins and some juice, it was not ready at 7am as promised.

Helpful staff, in room coffee pot, frig, microwave, hair dryer.

Noise of hvac fan, loose tile, missig mop boards, rusty shower curtain rod, seal missing at top of shower wall.

The room had a view of the water and the sunset. The morning breakfast was all home made and the staff took a lot of pride in serving the guests. There were home baked muffins , warm bread and hard boiled eggs made to order. It was more like a b&b rather than a motel.They are also pet friendly

Some of the guests left early in the morning and you could hear their loud trucks leaving the parking lot.

Easy access off main road, food provided by restaurant attached to hotel was excellent, clean, professional staff and the fire place was a great bonus.

Constant sounds of aircraft but that's not the hotel's fault...but something vistors to the area should be aware of.

we especially enjoyed the franklin fireplace in the room. The hostess was exceptional in that she made it feel more like a bed and breakfast rather than a motel. Very personable and friendly. This will be our home away from home should we be in this area again.

Room was very outdated..but would stay because of convenience to town and surrounding area..

I enjoyed the staff and the Owner's interest in my stay and travel companion. My Westie. Bala was wonderfully engaging while I registered. The complimentary breakfast was good and the staff member was pleasant, attentive and personable. Well done to to both!!!!!

Nothing. I would stay again. I do think the rooms could be updated and remove the dark wood features. It's dated......but nice rooms, large and very clean.

Good location

The linens on the bed were old and worn, the bed was old and in need of replacement. Pillows need replacing

The staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast and wine bar were special treats. It was a great pet-friendly room for the money. Anacortes is a nice place to visit.

Excellent breakfast and very pleasant staff. Our on-line booking asked for special considerations; we requested a second floor room. This was given to us with no upgrade charge. We were even called, at home, before our arrival date to confirm this request. Great service

The attentive staff and breakfast spread was wonderful with boiled eggs done to your satisfaction and lots of little "extras" that you will have to discouver for yourself!

Having a presto log to light in the (dated) fireplace - not like the one shown in the brochure on line. Would have been wonderful to have been in that room!

The Inn was very clean and well maintained. The accoutrements were outstanding including breakfast and ambience...all within the small town of Anacortes which is a portal to the San Juan Islands. The pool, breakfast accomodations, clean rooms, and small but ample dining room was very nice. The owner obviously takes pride in her establishment!

No negative comments considering the price.

The staff were great, the price was right, and they aimed to please. When we arrived, they let us pick our room, they provided all the extra's, and always with a smile. We had our dog, and the Inn is dog friendly. Sometimes a place will say they allow dogs, but when you get there they make you feel bad, or over charge you for having a dog. Not at the Island Inn. I would stay at the Island Inn again if I ws in the area.

I was extremely impressed by the cleanliness of the room. What cleaning products do you use especially for bathroom and mirrors? can I get that from you?

Friendly staff, good breakfast, nice touches like internet, newspaper, coffe and cookies, nice coffee, tea, etc in room, clean.

Smoky smelling room, could use a little more sprucing up.

The owner took a real interest in the service she provides. I think she is interested in upgrading the physical problems of the hotel. Very responsive.

Convenient for ferry trip to Sidney. Interesting town to walk around in. Close to wonderful park and forest preserve.

It was fine, except, second floor rooms not convenient relative to steps.
