Islandia Marriott Long Island  

The decor is fantastic. The shuttle service is very convenient. The rooms are comfortable. The coffee in the lobby was good.

There was no free internet.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet always had fresh fruit and good variety of foods. The bed had the most comfortable sheets and comforter you will ever sleep under!

I was looking forward to using hot tub but this has been closed and converted to a flower garden related to new ADA law requiring accommodation for disabled. I guess if the disabled cant use it nobody can use it!. The web site needs to be updated to advise people that this amenity is no longer available.

The beds were comfortable

The temperature was 77 degrees on check in. Turning to air conditioning mode only lowered it to 74 degrees for the entire night...most uncomfortable for sleeping and being alone I did not attempt to locate the HVAC people at that time of night. The closet door was off track and could not be closed properly, The mirror part was not secure and I had to squeeze by to enter the bathroom. A patch of porcelain was off the tub and at first I thought it was an insect. There was hair on the wall in the shower. When I voiced complaints to a staff member at the desk on checkout, she apologized and offered nothing else as a courtesy for the inconveniences. It was certainly not what I have come to expect from Marriott. For $200.00 I would have expected better.

Ease of check-in and check-out, friendly staff, good food, good beds

Bed linens had a strong perfume odor that transferred to our pajamas, so that they couldn't be worn again without washing. Heating/cooling unit on the wall was quite loud. Towels were stiff and rough.

This is a very nice Hotel. The service was excellant. I'll definatly stay there again

pool and exercise room

The restaurant service was terrible. Mostly ate buffet breakfast,. I even spoke to the manager several times. for example waiting for your bill for 30 minutes

Slow elevators (One was broken), and the recommended service elevator never came to the floor. Bartenders took 20 minutes to serve me

A place to eat at late hours. The staff, I have traveled a lot and have never had a more friendly and happy staff to help you out they are amazing. The amenities available great and the willingness to always help. I will stay here anytime I am in the area.

The room service and food was very good.

My room had not been occupied in awhile. It was very dusty, there were missing toiletries, the shower head was coming out of the wall, the water glasses were dirty and I questioned whether my linens were freshly changed. Dissapointing. I usually have a better experience with Marriot.
