We arrived around 1pm and the manager told us our room would be ready in about 15 mins even though check in is technically 4pm, which was wonderful. However, I've stayed in wildwood for years and typically they do let you check in much earlier than the stated check in time. And this was about the best thing about this motel other than the location. The place is run down and needs a serious face lift. Not like other places in wildwood that are older, with a retro feel and well maintained. Pool is gross and clientele is worse, not even kidding, bad. We walked in the room after the cleaning person finished smoking her cigarette while "cleaning the room", and much to our dismay the room was utterly disgusting. Sticky floors, disgusting shower (don't forget rubber flip flops if you plan on bathing), the bed comforters were all grungy and pull them back to an even better surprise of huge yellow stains on the sheets and mattress, and bed bugs, ick. The door wouldn't latch, one good push and you would be in the room. We approached the manager in hopes he would follow policy and return us our balance (the second night stay) and he could keep the deposit (first night stay) so we could book something else, anywhere else, cause yes, it was that bad. Unfortunately, he was rude and money hungry. Policy is if you cancel within 14 days or don't show up, the deposit is non-refundable, totally understandable. I paid our balance upon arrival, was in the room for maybe 5 mins and asked the manager to refund the balance as per policy. He sited "no refunds", after making me read the exact policy I just stated and the same booking.com sent me days before. He stated he held the room long enough so he deserved that money, then when someone else approached the front desk, he ignored us. I would be wary of this place. Management is rude. The location to the beach and boardwalk is great. Free wifi with password clearly noted at front desk.
