The suite was wonderful and had everything we needed to make our one week stay thoroughly enjoyable. The staff was friendly and helpful but unobtrusive. The location couldn't have been better - a block and a half off miichigan ave.
The only thing that prevented the stay from being perfect is thar the wifi didn't work. Had to use tons of data on my cell phone rather than use my tablet as desired.
Staff was good, especially the concierge was very nice. The room was great, the interior is modern and comfortable. The bath was excellent - shower with lots of options like rainfall and a TV included in the mirror. Sky terrace was good especially at night because if there purple lights and a nice atmosphere. Breakfast was delicious, we ordered it into our room.
The fridge was not really cold. But that's nearly all I have to complain. The cocktails they offer are really fancy - if you're looking for the classics you won't find them at the menu.
Red velvet cake pops every day on my bed were a definite perk!
Spacious Suites Modern Amenities Service was Outstanding Decor was Appealing Terrace was Amazing
loved our room, very spacious and comfortable, beautifully designed and decorated
Would have liked our concierge/front desk to be a little more knowledgeable about the city, and proactive about helping us to navigate around Chicago.
spacious private layout
living area could have felt cozier.
Location was great, easy walking distance to Mag Mile, restaurants, bars, river. Room was fantastic, very luxurious. Would stay here again.
Quiet and Private Spacious rooms. Comfortable beds. Nice bathrooms. Rainfall shower. Electronic blinds.
This hotel was phenomenal. Very classy and modern and just very high end. The room decor was nice especially the bathroom and the bed was extremely comfortable.
Spacious rooms with great customer service. Loved the modern design. The treats every night with the weather report for the next day was a nice touch.
Could hear rooms and hallways beside us. Wish bathrooms had a dinner light, it was hard to relax in the tub with the bright lights. Need an I pod dock, not a CD player
Location Location Location. Top roof bar for a drink. Friendly staff.
surprise 80$ taxes and fee at arrival Room a/c fans can't be turned off. Room gets humid after a shower and it stays that way quite a while. Furniture and floor starting to show wear. Not enough light in bathroom. No view on anything/ Small window.
Excellent location , very helpful staff , clean , spacious rooms , this hotel is perfect for Chicago travellers .
I loved the modern vibe the entire hotel gave off in design and layout, our suite was very clean, comfortable, spacious, and beautiful. I thought it was awesome how nobody could get up to any of the rooms who didn't belong there (you need your room key to activate the elevator); also the rooftop terrace was pretty sweet, a perfect place to chill with friends and enjoy a drink on a summer night. The staff was very friendly and helpful, one man even went out of his way to turn on torches on a section of the terrace so that our photographers could get a few pictures of us on the terrace (without us asking!). Overall a very wonderful place, I would definitely go there again, the money is well worth it!
I have no negative comments to say!
The staff was great..had an unexpected upgrade...spacious room bathroom...close to navy pier and michigan ave...and it had great food choices surrounding the hotel
I loved the shower, very unique. I also loved the location super close to Michigan without the traffic on Michigan.
The Ivy gives this regular business traveler a beautiful break from the conventional hotel room. The separation of the living room, bedroom, entry hall bar and closet, and dual sink(!) bathroom gives such a fantastic feeling of luxury. The staff is tremendously helpful. I can't say enough good things. If you're looking for an up-to-date, small, ideally located, quiet place in Chicago to make you feel special, The Ivy is it. And don't forget to go sit on the roof for a drink at the Skybar. I promise you'll feel special.
How's this for measly? The only things I didn't think we're pretty darn perfect: I wish they had were 4 towels in the room instead of 2, and a towel hook by the separate 2-head rain shower as well as across the room by the inviting, elegant bath. And why oh why does no hotel ever have a ledge in the shower for a woman to rest her foot while shaving her leg? But, this one does have the advantage of two ledges above the water line for lotions and potions. Good job, Ivy!
Great location, helpful staff and well designed interiors.
Would be nice to have fresh lobby coffee and a newspaper. Very little investment but would have been a nice touch. Comparable to a Kimpton Hotel without the nice little imenities. Pillows were foam and hard to sleep on.
great location, and clean. big rooms better than i expected.
sky terrace wasn't open
Location. Staff. Bed.
Shower was a little weird. Service and schedule of the lobby bar/breakfast area was uneven and understanding of how the top floor deck work needed explaining. Since it rained one day there was nothing, but when you go up there you need to know what to do even when it is "open" for a drink/whatever.
Loved the room. It was nicely decorated and spacious. The tv in the bathroom mirror was quite something. There was also a tv in the bedroom area and the living room area. The staff was excellent and very helpful. Would like to stay at the Ivy Boutique Hotel again!
Great position. Great big room with separate lounge. Nice furnitures. In the toilet we got both a bath tub and a shower. Great view from the roof top.
Breakfast only avaible in the room. Washing machine+dryer not provided (other hotels have them) and it is not easy to find a laundromat in downtown, but they do have a laundry service.
The decor was great
No room to relax on the sky deck
