Luxury feel, amazing staff, and a super comfortable bed.
Breakfast was good, but way over priced. Small plate of omelet, toast and a coffee is $27 before tip.
No exercise room
Beautiful contemporary feel!
Everything! Especially the bathroom was totally worth the price point. I had a wonderful time & expect to return soon.
The fact that it's a small or the shortest sky scraper in the city, dwarfs the expectations related to seeing spectacular views of the city. Kind of a bummer; especially if you're thinking of walking around nude w the curtains open.
Staff very hard working and nice
The location was great. Close to Michigan Mile. Not even a 10 minute walk to restaurants. The King sweet is really nice bedroom area with a separate seating area.
The mini bar/fridge was pricy. I understand that its Chicago but $5 for a can of coke. Even the bar in the lobby was $10 for a cosmopolitan. Its a nice looking boutique hotel but it needs to be maintained better. The handrail in the elevator was loose. We also could hear people entering and leaving their rooms so the sound tended to be unbearable. With this the door rattled constantly
Quick service with a request; help with recommendations for a show; dinners. Great location; very comfortable rooms. Very nice to have treats at night.
Bellman was too busy on his phone to even look up, let alone open the door when we had our arms filled with shopping bags.
I liked the way the staff knew you personally and talked with you as if you were a guest in their own homes. The desk staff was not as outgoing as the bartenders, doormen, and cleaning staff who were exceptionally personable. I enjoyed the same friendly faces daily!
I had a bad experience with booking.com because I misunderstood or they misrepresented the daily price of the hotel. The price doubled on the weekend from the weeknights. That was not in my budget.
Staff were friendly, room was very nice, bathroom fixtures and finishes were great (we upgraded to a king).
Odd decor, attempt at luxury circa 1992. Not understanding the purple glam aesthetic for a hotel called ivy. Living wall would be so elegant. Terrible chandelier in the entry and some choices that undermined the sense of quality one would normally associate with luxury or boutique (Door mouldings over light switches, eg). But i am a design nut and everything else was nicely done.
Fabulous staff, total professionals. Lovely spacious rooms, classy décor.
Nothing, everything was perfect
The rooms are very modern & stylish, new bathrooms also the rooms are very spacious. Furthermore the location in Chicago is just perfect.
Staff was not really friendly, room was very noisy (air condition was kind of not ok), very loud fan of the mini bar, certain things are dirty -e.g. remote control had lot of stains, many different insects were in the fly screen (disgusting). We addressed all issues nothing has been done. The bellboy was absolutely bothersome to arrange his guy for our way to the airport.. in general I'd suggest to spend some extra dollars and stay @TheJames.. rooms are similar, price is similar location is similar and you have the benefits of a "big hotel"..
Cool room, good location.
Not very happening hotel. The lobby bar was never open and no one was around.
The hotel suite was absolutely beautiful, modern, clean & so much room. This will be our go to hotel for Chicago from now on
There are nothing we didn't like.
Large modern rooms Comfortable bed Separate sitting area Great showere with separate tub
Heat/ air system a bit noisy in our room, but typical in large buildings I guess
Room size is great, modern furniture and design , quite ,clean, everything really is great about this PROPERTY!
The staff is less than cold really if it wasn't for them taking my credit card I would have never even have know they were there seriously.
We were in Chicago for a college visit and wanted to stay in the city. We chose the Ivy for the great reviews, location and it's boutique style. We were within walking distance of variety of shops and restaurants. We valeted our truck for the weekend and either walked or took cabs around town. The doormen were so friendly and attentive at all times, as was the staff at the front desk and bar area. We will most definitely chose the Ivy for all our Chicago visits in the future. Oh and the rooms were fantastic, large and emmaculate!
Nothing, we had a great stay:)
Staff, room decor, value
No breakfast until 7:30 AM--- making it tough for a business trip when you want to get going early
Our Housekeeper, Maria Always gave us a very clean room with a well-made bed and turn down service. She made the stay all that much enjoyable
so spacious and clean. Bathroom was amazing with tub and stand in shower. Everything was amazing! Staff was very pleasant and helpful.
Great location, huge room, very nice bathroom, comfy bed.
Staff in general seemed indifferent. Water stains in the ceiling. Couldn't get the automatic curtains to work. Only got the turn-down service and chocolate one night out of three. Seemed like they just didn't have it quite "together." Will stay elsewhere next time.
The location is good, center of downtown Chicago. Bed is comfortable and clean.modern room design.
Very poor customer service. Facility is not updated regularly. my husband and I stayed two nights at the hotel, the average cost is $250 per night includes parking.by the time we're ready to check out we do not even have hot water to take a shower. Try to contact the hotel management multiple times and got no answers. Will not return.
the room was cool but kinda felt an old motel they tried to update as opposed to just gutting it and starting over?
a little creepy? room faced an alley with garbage dumpsters. weird owl decorations for the holidays? couldn't print my receipt because the "printer is on another floor"
My boyfriend and I went to chicago is my birthday. I picked ivy hotel because of the reviews and it lived up to the greatest review!! The location was amazing, the room was spectacular, the soaking tub and shower are to die for. The staff was very accommodating and got us whatever we needed.
The only thing I have to complain about was they only have us the magnificent bath salts on the first night and not enough towels so we did have to ask for them nightly. But when we asked for them they were brought up to our room very quickly.
Location could not be beat! very spacious rooms...comfy beds
Very dark lighting in the rooms which wasn't an issue until I tried to take out contacts or put on makeup
