We have stayed at the ivy twice and both times enjoyed our stay. The staff is probably the best we have ever experienced and I traveled on business for several years every week. They have gone to great extent both times to make sure we enjoyed the hotel and had everything we needed.
Service and facilities were excellent! We asked for a dinner recommendation. The front desk person asked what kind of good or experience we were seeking. The recommendation was excellent and less than a block away!
The room was very well appointed and the suite was very clean. Staff was responsive and helpful. We were so comfortable during this hectic stay!
Some of the wood accents in the rooms are starting to look warn/shabby.
very friendly and helpful staff, central located,
Size of rooms and facilities were excellent. Location perfect would definitely stay there again. Service was very good. Excellent hotel.
We stayed in a king suite it was magnificent. Had a king sized bed, extra living area, 3 TV's (one in the bathroom) and great bathroom. Close to the magnificent mile if you want to shop!
The rooftop bar wasn't open I suppose because of the seasons. We were in Chicago in November!
Very comfortable bed Great bathroom Furniture and Equipment in general
Breakfast a bit expensive, however very good quality
Spacious bedroom, bathroom and lounge area with a huge cloud soft bed and pillows in the best location and very quiet. I had the best nights sleep of our entire holiday in this hotel and would recommend it to any weary traveller.
Very expensive laundry service for holiday travellers
The majority of the staff and location was good.
The hidden $250.00 deposit on top of the pre charge of the one night stay. It was not written or stated to me when I contacted the hotel 3 times prior to the stay. I even asked how much I would have to pay when I got their. They took a $100 deposit but removed the mini bar. It is a week later and the $100.00 is still pending on my account.
Great location and room size. Facilities and finish were very "W" ;) Fast and stable internet access included with room is a plus.
Doorman that didn't seem to do anything, had to open door every time - not a big deal, happy to open my own door but they might as well not have them!
king suite was large with great bathroom, 3 tv's in bathroom bedroom and living area . Good aircon , easily controlled . Location good , quite central for magnificent mile and navy pier. Staff very helpful
lobby bar was usually empty and cold , no atmosphere.
The location is perfect, literally 3 minute walk from Michigan Avenue and within walking distance of everywhere. The hotel is small but luxurious, we stayed in a king suite and we had a separate living room, 3 tvs including 1 in the bathroom mirror, a massive bathroom with a separate bath and the best shower I've ever seen in any hotel! They offer a turndown service complete with sweet treats which are a really nice touch. I highly recommend this hotel, you will not be disappointed.
A minor issue I noticed was that the room wasn't dusted every day. Everything else was spotless though. Also there was no way of making tea, there was a coffee machine but no way of just getting boiling water. It's something that could be easily rectified.
Very well appointed rooms, the little bit extra with the decor. Good location, very friendly staff and very clean.
Charged $250 twice due to housekeeping claiming that they smelled cigarette smoke in my room. The second time I was charged I wasn't even notified that they were placing the hold on my credit card. Rude management and overall frustrating experience, and for a young hotel it felt a bit dinged and dated.
I like a modern hotel with a great location. This hotel is just a block or so from Michigan Avenue. I could walk to many sites easily.
The valet parking was $48 lower than other hotels in the area but I just don't like such a high price.
beds - super comfy shower was great when hot
lack of hot water - they said the hot water "didn't reach our room"
This is a little chic hotel right off Michigan Avenue. We liked it b/c of the proximity to everything. Nice layout, comfortable rooms, smart design
rooftop deck wasn't open at all (would have been nice to know that before booking). . . the weather was perfect so it would have been nice to reopen this as it was a big part of me booking this hotel. Walls are paper thin, we heard a lot of what the people next to us were doing. Could hear what shows they were watching.
Just a couple of blocks from Michigan Avenue stores, a comfortable walk to the museum districts, clean and easily accessible. Staff was good (bordering on very good), and the hotel was SO quiet... delightful.
Just one robe, one pair of slippers... my wife won the coin toss! Don't expect a top-notch concierge experience... the desk is manned at night, but there's not a ton of local knowledge.
Can be a little loud. Slamming of doors near our room.
I was impressed by everything from the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff to the amazing room. The experience could not have been better
I know it is late in the season but I wish the roof top bar had been open. I was looking forward to a drink and a view
Everything. Big spacious room, we didn't expect what we got, we had almost a whole apartment! And the staff was very helpful and friendly...
Nothing comes to my mind!
Excellent location. Small hotel which felt very comfortable and cozy. Nice quiet bar in lobby. Room was large and very clean. Reasonably priced considering room size and location on Magnificent Mile
mattress was a little too soft. Since the hotel is small, there is no fitness center. There is an agreement with Equinox gym (but this costs $15 for a 24 hour pass, and the gym is about 6 blocks away)
