Ivy Boutique Hotel    

The room was spacious and the amenities high end. The shower was great as well as the soaking tub. The beds were quite comfortable. The turn down treats were very nice. The location was perfect for us

The lighting in the bathroom was not sufficient. The mirror is dark since it is used for two way with the tv behind it. We could not see to put makeup on or shave. The additional makeup mirror light was also too poorly lit . The lights switches for the lights on the side of the bed should control thoselights as well as shut down all lights

Modern design, impeccably clean, great rain forest shower! They even have a dust cover for the extra toilet roll! Little details do make a difference. The staff at the front desk was extremely helpful and friendly! Love this hotel in general! Will definitely come back!

The Ivy is super modern and designed beautifully. The king suite felt like an apartment. Loved the bathroom the most. The living space was comfortable and felt like home. Doorbells and led lighting to signal "Do not disturb" and "Housekeeping" was innovative. The housekeeping staff is amazing!!!

You have to request ice, which took a while. Payment is fuzzy if you use a debit card. The lobby bar isn't very big so we had a drink down the street due to an obnoxious group of couples. Wish the hotel was pet friendly.

Overall excellent hotel with great amenities. Suite size was perfect. A four and a half star experience that compares to the Sofitel.

Lighting in the bathroom was poor in front of the mirror, overhead spotlights have an ageing effect.

Loved the location, the king suite room, the bathroom especially rainfall shower, the thoughtful amenities and the friendly staff.

There wasn't anything we didn't like

The Hotel is Max 3 mins walk onto Michigan Ave - It has a nice Bar area as you enter the hotel and the check in process was quick. The Rooms are a decent size and well laid out with a very spacious bathroom (big shower room within) The decor is bright and Modern - I will stay again on my next visit to Chicago.

The staff was extremely helpful! The room was gorgeous & comfortable with a huge bathroom with separate tub & shower! The little details were very much appreciated as well--L'Occitane hair products, the makeup mirror, the little sweet treat before bed, the slippers, the robe, the umbrella in the closet & the Iphone charger/clock by the bed. This was the best hotel I've ever stayed at & I hope to be able to return again on my next visit to Chicago!!! Thank you for everything!

The lighting in the bathroom was rather dim for applying makeup & one corner of the rug under the bed kept curling up & was a tripping hazard.

The rooms are very spacious, comfortable, and inviting. Very nice turn down treats (when they bother to do it) Location is great. New.

The website failed to mention that the top-floor bar/cafe was closed. Since this prominently displayed on the website as one of the nice things about the hotel, we were very disappointed. We were also woken-up at 2 am by the fire-alarm with annoying "low battery" warnings". We called for a battery change, which we promptly did get, but the hotel never bothered to give us a proper apology for such a disturbance. The design of the rooms is great, but unfortunately several things don't work: The bathroom mirrors with the TVs are too dark; impossible to shave or apply makeup, you have to move to the large mirror in the room; We heard they are going to replace them... The rug by the entrance of the room did not stick to the ground and so you have to worry not to fall. Bar-refrigerator a bot noisy... Etc. All in all, the design looks great, but not everything works, which hopefully they will fix.

Our room was extremely cold regardless of how high we turned up the heat. The shower water was also luke warm. The staff moved us into another room that had the same problem. In addition, the new room was over the kitchen so we were awaken to fried food smells in our room as well as the garbage truck which arrived at 6:00 am to pick up the garbage in a noisy way!

Upon arrival I informed the front desk that I had received a price that day from Hotels Tonight for half of the rate I had been quoted through Booking.com and reserved at. When I mentioned this to the front desk clerk, he informed me that "had I made the reservation directly with the hotel he would be happy to make an adjustment however since I made the reservation through booking.com, there was nothing he could do. From that standpoint I would question wether or not I would return to The Ivy.

Very unique and contemporary. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We cannot wait to go back is summer to experience the roof top. Truly a stay that will be remembered.

I stayed there for one night on christmas eve to christmas with my boyfriend. The room is beautiful and modern. Free wifi was nice. We had a few friends over and I loved the division of the bedroom and the living room, and also the bathroom was really nice and big, with a shower booth and a tub, and also a tv. The people were nice.

I had to pay extra 50 dollars for being under 21, which was not something I was definitely not expecting. Also we had to call the room service twice to get ice. The floor needed some cleaning. The checkout was 11, which was I thought was also too early. I have been to hotels where the checkout times are mostly noon or 1, sometimes even two. I had to extend it to 12:30 which was the maximum they could do.

the staff was more than friendly and went above and beyond their job. the cleanliness of the hotel was also quite impressive.

The layout if the room

The bathroom is awesome! Beds are comfortable.

The rug on our floor was curled up and we tripped on it a few times. Room 205. Should fix that. Rooms a bit high. Paid $309 a night, as compared to others, just a bit high. I wanted to stay there, as I am trying every hotel once in Chicago.

Staff was great. Location was excellent. Easy in-Easy out.

The chair in the room, although it looked pretty, was the most uncomfortable piece of furniture you could sit on. The website didn't list all the amenities that were offered which as annoying.

Location,, Stuff, and the comfort of the room.

During night we heard noise coming from the ceiling, looks like cracks of something coming from the AC ducts. It was very annoying. I complained about it and I was told they will send the maintenance guys to take a look at it. However, it continued for the second night as well.
