This Midtown Manhattan hotel is a 5-minute walk from Central Park. It features on-site fine dining by popular chef Gordon Ramsay. Shops along Fifth Avenue are a 7-minute walk away.
Score from 651 reviews Very good
Featuring a fitness center and free Wi-Fi, the Courtyard by Marriott New York Manhattan/Central Park is located a short walk from the Rockefeller Center, Time Square and Central Park.
Score from 1397 reviews Very good
Central Park view from the room was truly a New York experience.
Charging for WiFi with such high room rates was disappointing.
Loved location. Right near all attraction and if not only a short subway run.
I hate paying for Wifi. I understand location great but hotel is not cheap and they still charge 20USD/day for Wifi!! Don't think warranted in this century
Very comfy bed Good concierge Good location
No tea and coffee making facilities in room Wanted to charge me $10 for use of a mini kettle!!!!! Also when paying such a lot of money expect free wifi Check in staff poor Very expensive stay but best hotel bed I have slept in
Excellent location on Central Park, large and comfortable room, nice staff
No coffee machine in the room
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable
The worst internet connectivity I have experienced in a very long time, and at $19.99 per day (I paid for the enhanced, which clearly wasn't). When I tried to reach someone (after multiple to calls to multiple extensions) I was given absolutely no answers or help... The bathroom was tiny and has a curtain; there was construction happening outside of my window (4th floor) all night. The buffet breakfast is $54.00, for basic breakfast fair, which is ridiculous. At $600.00 per night I expect more, even in Manhattan...
Perfect location Amazing view over Central Park Great restaurant Wonderful breakfast buffet
Too limited menu for dinner The small bathroom/guest in the suite was dusty
we stayed with 3 children in a suite. Comfortable, clean, good facilities all around. But...
Maybe I'm used to traveling in Europe, as it's hard for me to accept 3$ payment when I asked for 2 spoons & bowls for cereal (just the spoon & bowl, not the cereal) or 16$ daily for wifi access. For the price of the room, these should be included. the list of small "chargeable" stuff goes on. To me it seems petty.
Location directly facing central park, near by fifth avenue n time square
The bed room
Some suites are not well designed. Rooms in general are too old. Service is a bit slow.
- Location - Friendly staff - Room cleanniness
- Old room design - Expensive for the room level
Free wifi in lobby. View Music on the JW room channel that runs in the room. Found it hypnotic
Arriving at a hotel at midnight your company is paying thousands of dollars to stay in, you do not expect to be subjected to body and luggage searches by the Secret Service. Some guests had to open their suitcase in the doorway to the hotel for further check. They were confiscating items. I thought we were paying to stay at this fancy hotel! Each and every time you entered the hotel whether you had a bag of potato chips like I did or a baby with a stroller like I observed, you were subjected to your bags and person searched. Disabled, elderly every one was searched. I had to call my boss and give him a heads up as he was arriving after me and would have turned around at the door and checked into another hotel. It was utterly disrespectful of the hotel to subject their guests to this treatment, never explain in advance, talk to them or even have their staff after the SS search point to say anything. This was my second stay here. While my company uses the JW brand, for showing no courtesy, this will most likely be my last stay. In a room for three adults it would have been nice if they could have put more than one tube of body wash every two days in the bathe. The Marriott in Park Lane, London where I stayed the week before made that observation that there were two adults and put two of each of their L'occitane products. It's not like JW can't spare the extra tube of cheap generic body wash
If you want Central Park, Essex Marriott is in the right place. The restaurant is good, breakfast quality (but not variety) excellent.
For such high prices, a renovation should have taken place long ago. Internet is not free, not even at the business center. Staff is polite but not friendly (Concierge is a happy exception).
Location and staff
shower, wifi very weak
the rooms, the beds, the location, the jewelry kiosk shoppe, the doorman
the restaurant - kitchen didn't give what was ordered. There was no salt on our breakfast table (asked 3 times). Not up to our standards!
Location Overall hotel ambience Staff were generally attentive Front desk staff were not as good as we had heard before our trip Food Amenities were good Concierge was great
Bath drain was blocked and the plug didn't work The bath mat was taken away and not brought back - we only had a bath mat every second day Front desk staff didn't follow up on requests
The view from hotel overlooking Central Park were stunning. Beautiful hotel.
No extras at all everything extra was at a price. Local calls a ridiculous price. Wi fi very hit and miss. No drink making facilities in room. Again could hire but at a price. Mini bar and snacks superb but stupidly overpriced
Comfortable bed. No bed bugs. Cool historic old school luxury hotel vibe. Posh lobby. Fitness center was small but super clean and had enough stuff.
Confusing light switches, controls. Expensive for room with view of central park. Tv needs an upgrade. Slow channel changing.
location and value was what drove us to it
multiple charges to my Credit Card done over and over again even though i have informed the management yet its been a month since i checked in and the matter is not solved yet. one suite over looking the park had an amazing view but was the nosiest room i have stayed in through out my traveling experience . AC was noisy and didn't always cool. last , i would advice them to refurbish the place soon its a bit worn out
Convinient location to children atractions, like stores, times square and central park. excelent beds, clean rooms and very good service.
I think for these prices and at this era, internet should be free. also if you like taking baths this is not the hotel for you. bath tubs are tiny.
Everything is good, except room carpet and the couch wasnt clean.
Location being across the st from the park. Also safety and level of security is excellent.
Furniture was old and rooms feels over used and needs remodeling
We liked the proximity to the Central Park and to the Broadway.
Bad experience with one concrete manager who behaved arrogantly and unprofessionally. Destroyed the so far excellent experience with the hotel.
