Location is good and few steps away from subway station
No mirror on the room
Safe location Good ratio quality - price Convenient to public transport Nice clean shared restrooms
The walls and windows are not sound proof, I was at the first floor, noises from the kitchen and the nearby train line are going to bother you The heating system is not great The room is not dirty but it doesnt shine either Some maintenance work should be carried out in the bedrooms The bathroom is shared and the reception can be reached only by phone, if you lock yourslf outside your room at night for going to the restroom, get ready to spend your night in the kitchen
Safe surrounding Quiet room
Slow internet connection Lack of a wardrobe Low ceiling
This place does not even has a name on the outside! At the check-in there is no one there. It does what not have any facilities (not even a private restroom!). In a nutshell, it's the worst place to stay ever. Don't go near it!
Really nice place to stay - like a bed and breakfast without breakfast, very comfortable beds, shared bathroom was always very clean, nice lobby area / "livingroom" with tv, sofa, desk... Subway station very, very close, Q-train runs all the way to Manhattan. Very good value compared to other NYC hotels!
Kind of fraud, they charge your card before you arrived. Otherwise I would not pay.
Only one bathroom per floor and it gets crowded in the morning. The hotel is one hour away from Manhattan by subway, you have to be patient.
Good sized kitchen although a lot of the utensils were not there or had gone missing and not replaced. Bed/room was clean but mattress thin and hard.
The fact there was no personal interaction with staff/ management. I booked and requested a ground floor room (my partner and I are 67 y.o in reasonable health but dragging 2 x 20+ kilo suitcases up 3 flights of stairs is a killer !) When I tried to explain over a intercom that I requested a ground floor room. All that was said was "tough luck, can't do anything about it." Room had to share bathroom with 2 others and said garret room was slightly smaller than a jail cell and slightly bigger than a large dog kennel. Noise from near by trains all night, at nigh on 10 minute intervals. Very expensive for what it is. Tee'd off that strapping young guys and gals had large ground floor rooms while we struggled up and down for the 3 days we were there Ray & Kathleen fronm Australia
price, bathroom (shared)
a covering on the bed remembered Vietnam war, worn out pillowcases, noise from the metro line behind the window (but there are more quite rooms from the other side of the building), breakfast = kitchen at the disposal of the guest (must have your own food)
nice location in a Jewish neighbourhood, really close to Subway, clean bathrooms, quite big rooms
because it was so close to Subway you could hear the trains going at night and early in the morning we had a mice in our room
Very close to metro.
- price was relatively fine compared to many other options in NY - Wi-Fi worked rather well
- for those visiting Manhattan it is relatively far away and travelling by metro to down-town Manhattan can take more than 45 minutes. - the house is right next to the subway tracks (and the station), windows have only one layer, so all the noise from the tracks can be heard in the rooms, so do not count much on sleeping (trains pass by in both directions each 10 minutes) - there was no table or chair in the room so we had to put all our stuff on the floor - the room was not also very clean - there were used plastic cups behind radiators and the room was simply not very clean (e.g. stacks of dust on the ceiling fan) - the window did not open easily - toilets are shared
The neighbourhood is relatively calm and you are only 1 min by foot away from the train station. Buses are also available when the Q-line is not operating due to maintanence work etc ..the neghbourhood has great pasta, pizza, grocieries and beer and whatever else you could ask for. I would stay again !
The Q-train does make some noise since it passes right outside the house but hey, a tired traveller can care less and sleep well regardless
The location is great. 2 mins walk from subway station.
I can hear noise from subway, others' TV and other customer's footsteps. The bathroom on 2nd floor had no water after 1am, so I used the one on 1st floor. Basically nothing in the room.
Safe area. Quiet and nice people staying there. Very close to metro station.
Shared bathrooms are not that clean. No staff working, if you have any problems, you have to do it by yourself.Since the metro railway is so close, some rooms are noisy.
- big living room with television and kitchen - good airconditiong - nice rooms, not too small - clean - nice owner - room cleaned every day - close to subway - nice area, lots of restaurants, delis, shops, etc.
- there's no elevator so we had to walk 2 stairs with heavy luggage. - traveling from JFK airport is a long journey.
It's a very nice place to stay, neighborhood is agreable, near of the subway, a safe place and with many stores, convenience store, pharmacy, banks etc.
For 2 times I was without power in my room, because if someone use the dryer hair and air conditioner together, the light will be out. I think the proprietary needs to do a change at some installations and put a message for the guests at the reception. It's horrible arrive at your room and not find electricity!
Good place to sleep while exploring the city. Location is 100m from metroline Q and it is direct link to manhattan. Wifi was good. Kitchen was good.
-knife in kitchen needs sharpening.
The cleanliness was great. Looked great. Smelled clean. Very good.
The shower on the third floor. No water pressure. Need a new shower head.
Located in a Brooklyn neighborhood. We would not have spent time in this neighborhood had we not stayed here. Definitely gave us a feel for life in this part of Brooklyn
- Close to the subway station - Maid does her job good, rooms are clean
- You can hear literally every sound in the house - If you take a room with queen size bed and you get room 301, be prepared - the only window in the room is sealed. There is a door to the roof, if you want some fresh air, but subway is so close you can't sleep with the door open even with earplugs - Airconditioner was as loud as trains outside, and smells - Also to room 301: it is near the toilet. And the toilet door closes pretty loud. Every time your neighbours go to the toilet at night - booooom! - Location: It is really far to go to and from Manhattan, especially at night - No WLAN on the third floor, good signal is only on the first floor
Close to the train station
Didn't seem that clean
Very clean rooms and bathroom. Sharing the hall bathroom was not a problem. The shared kitchen was very useful. Very close to the Avenue J subway station to get into Manhattan or to Coney Island.
No name on the entrance. Very unsure if we were at the right place. Check-in was very confusing - more detailed information is needed prior to trip to understand the process.
interesting neighborhood; close to Avenue J stop...
no chair or side table in the room!
Cheap, close to subway, and close to bagel shops.
It wasn't staffed so check-in was slightly confusing. I had some trouble understanding the access code over the phone.
