Clean, quiet, comfortable, spacious, private.
High ceilings and spacious rooms Lovely grounds Tub Private patio Not bothered by staff
No fridge or microwave, would be nice with groceries nearby
Close to some very nice beaches especially enjoyed Mahaiula and the sea turtles there. Also the visitor ctr. at onizuka center for international astomomy for the nite viewing----rooms big and comfy
Not that many different restaurants in the area
Location Beautiful bathroom Comfortable bed High ceilings Historic Hawaii
Being surprised by no tv or telephone
Lovely looking old inn with some great heritage features. Jacaranda growing all over the place. Four poster bed and hand painted furniture in our room. It was unique. The bathroom was fantastic - double vanity and lovely big shower. About a five minute drive into town for restaurants and shops. 15 minute drive through the country to get to the coast, if you want to go to the beach.
The place isn't kept very well. It's very dusty and dirty, which affected my allergies. Spider webs everywhere - from inside the shower to across the garden path that guests use to get to the car park. The owner was a bit strange and not very welcoming or helpful. No access to wifi from within the bedroom. If the place was done up, it would be great.
Location Excellent restaurants nearby No problem with parking. There were three great open markets during our stay where we could buy local produce.
The cobwebs on the plants.
peaceful lovely victorian upcountry charm
Nice room. Playing pool was a pleasant surprise.
Quiet and convenient location. Good size rooms with large bathtub.
sense of history, location, landscaping, architecture
can't think of anything we didn't like
Nice, charming inn
Some more information about the surrounding would have been nice. It's a bit further from Waipo than we were expecting.
Tranquility. 4-poster bed was a surprise. Incredible comfort. Beautiful surroundings. Absolute bliss.
This Inn is a collection of 100 yr old Parker Ranch bungalows for its managers and workers. The grounds are spacious and lush--real Kohala! It is very very quiet. Booked mostly for special occasions:weddings, meetings etc--according to manager of Inn. Close to all restaurants in Waimea, and shops.
A bit over-priced ($150.00 +)for the Waimea/Kamuela area. No TV anywhere--deliberate absence. WiFi available only in main room, not own rooms. No breakfast, only coffee in the rooms. No ice or vending machine.
lovely grounds, quiet
Internet only available in main house, no breakfast
Location, general setting, history of property
The single staff person was virtually non-existant and did absolutely nothing to make our stay pleasant. The facility appears very old and worn down. The main entrance is visibly dirty and in disrepair. There is no food of any kind available. Some room windows do not open and some do not have screens. We would never stay here again.
The property if beautiful.
The entry way to the facility was quite dirty with cobweb under the furniture. The rooms do not have enough lighting and window ledge was not cleaned for a while.
only the location.
We actually spent a total of about 10 minutes in our cabin and were forced to leave because the mold/fungus/musty smell inside brought on an allergy attack. Also, the mosquitos were horrible, unbearable. Staff apologized and attributed all these problems to very wet weather there lately. We went to a nearby hotel, that luckily had a room available, to spend our mini-vacation.
Very peaceful and convient location.
The bedding felt dirty
A real gem.. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and meeting the owner. Rooms were different and unique, very tastefully done and clean. First class all around! We will definitely be back. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Nothing not to like..
The enormous suite; luxurious bathroom; very comfortable bed; location; wonderful old built-in drawers/closet. Very happy with our stay--the pluses far outweighed the minor minuses.
Overall the property is a bit tired and in need of some TLC--we opened the window, and the sill was very dirty. The floor of the closet was dirty, also. The exterior could have used some paint.
Ambiance, location, service. Amazing rooms and bathrooms! And we had one of the smallest rooms
Jacaranda Inn's history in and of itself is worth the trip. The grounds, building design and furnishings are phenomenal. Very quiet, peaceful and unique location.
The walls could use a good scrubbing for mold removal.
beautiful room, great colors, wonderful view walking out back, quiet
no hot water until late morning after finding staff. staff unavailable in evening, felt rather abandoned
We were upgraded to the Suite which was beautiful, extremely clean and classy. The bed was so GREAT!! I couldn't tell you enough how wonderful it was.
the property was a little worn and un-maintained. However it must be hard to keep up with such a large old establishment.
Beautiful setting and rooms. So picturesque, clean, comfortable. We were thrilled to stay at Jacaranda.
We would have appreciated a bit more information at check in about where to park, where to enter now to get in at night, etc.
