Beautiful property, cool historical story.
It is too bad they didn't provide breakfast.
We thought the grounds and the unique rooms were great.
The bed didn't have enough support. My husband didn't have good enough sleep.
The room and bath were large and comfortable. Surrounded by lovely garden.
Special place. Private suite and beautiful natural surroundings was outstanding. No nonsense, wonderfully efficient check in and check out. Staff was friendly and cared. Linens, towels were top quality comforts. Large Jacuzzi tub, oversized shower in spacious bathroom was a nice treat. Would definitely book again when next in area.
No in-room internet, which was probably a good thing. Used cell phone for leisure related searches and stayed off laptop. Inners of furniture a little dusty and some small critters. Understandable given natural surroundings and historic feel. An easy fix is to have some wet wipes in room. Main house has musky smell, not too inviting as is. A small spread of continental breakfast items, such as fruits, bagels, and oatmeal in main house would not be too much trouble or cost, but would be a very nice touch to start the morning, since convenient breakfast selections in town were few. Would have happily paid extra for light and healthy breakfast on site.
large and spacious room.
no tv in the room. lights outside the room were distracting to the point it became difficult to sleep in the evening.
If you like history and antiques, this is the place for you. Each room is very different with updated bathrooms.
Musty smell in rooms on slab foundations.
Great ambiance. Beautiful old bit of Hawaiiana. Nice grounds and well-appointed rooms.
Check-in (2pm) and check-out (10am) times aren't very generous.
Spacious room, double showers, peaceful and matches the Kamuela setting. We loved even if it was an overnighter. I like purple too and found many areas with purple!
The bedding covers and love seat were a little musky old dusty smell which affected my allegeries. Shrubbery overgrown. Not really enough to say I didn't like staying there.
The wild turkeys and spider webs everywhere.
Peaceful Private Comfortable spaces incuding lanaii Fabulous Jacuzzi tub in roomy bathroom
limited Wi Fi
The property has an interesting history and from what we can still see, had some glory days. The grounds are beautiful. Our room was very spacious.
Dated furnishings, insufficient lighting in the room, water did not drain quickly enough in the bathroom, wifi only in the reception area.
The buildings were part of the Parker estate as highlighted by the host, so it had that novelty value.
We checked in during the afternoon. When we arrived home at night after going to a concert, the main house was locked up, which we anticipated, but it was not clear how we would find our way around to the section behind the house where our suite was. Another couple who were staying there had to help us. The way was not clear nor was it explained to us earlier when we checked in. One of the taps in the bathroom was broken. The WiFi was ineffective for us.
Nicely decorated. Very cool old farm house
The room was very spacious and clean. Great bathroom too
There were no facilities at all. Not even a fridge
The begonia room was spacious with a king size bed, sitting room porch and a bathroom bigger than my daughters studio on Oahu. Lovely whirlpool tub and shower with great water pressure. Nice to have a small fridge.
Toilet ran until you jiggled the handle. No WIFI in the room. Main building not open Saturday morning until 9. No meals provided but wonderful choices close by. Ceilings and high rafters cob webby.
Loved the peaceful setting. We only stayed one night but realized it would be the perfect location for any activities on the island. It was close to wimea. Wimea was a beautiful small town with an excellent restaurant.
No screens on the door. Mosquitos were visitors. Insist on a tour. We discovered that there is a nice library with a pool table as we were leaving.
We stayed just one night because we went star gazing. The place is quite nice from the outside but from my opinion they could have made more of it inside (both hhotel and common rooms). Our room was in the middle of the building and therefore quite dark. But the rooms are really spacious. The do not offer breakfast which is a pity because I can very well imagine the common rooms to be suited for.
The feeling of "history" in the Inn. Recognizing the part the ranch played in Hawaii made it far more interesting to us than an ordinary B&B.
Did not understand the purpose of some of the rooms - how did the ranch manager use them? Maybe some pictures from long ago. Would have appreciated breakfast being available.
location good if you are exploring that area. Bathroom nice, newly redone. Liked the history behind the Inn.
cobwebs, poor lighting, Louver doors can't be locked leaving all the world to see inside the glass doors. Room had a mildew old smell. This was the only place our guide book steered us wrong about!
Jacaranda Inn do have a lot of atmosphare but there were few people why the rooms were somehow gosthy.
The inn is beautiful and the scenery, just gorgeous. I also enjoyed learning about the history of the inn and knowing that it is considered a historical site. I loved the feel of the bed and the blanket which made for ultra comfort. The location is also most convenient but secluded enough to make you feel like you're on a real vacation.
The lack of provision of meals was a major disappointment and I believe should be advertised. I did not mind that the room did not have a television but I believe others may not appreciate this. The bed covering and bed cushions also had an unpleasant odor. Also, it was a windy night, and there was a loose shutter somewhere which kept banging loudly against the wall/door which made it difficult to sleep.
