The lobby was nice, and the front desk agent was very helpful and understanding..
Very outdated. You can see every stain in the carpet. No phone or clock radio in room. The bathroom had bugs and smelled of urine/mold. The carpet in front of the bathroom was soaking wet. We laid down 3 towels and they were still drenched. We checked out in less than an hour. Not a place for a parent and young child. I am waiting for my refund.
Many aspects: dirty linen, disgusting bathroom, trains continually causing disrupted sleep, no wifi … and over priced.
It was a cheap price.
Incredibly dirty and horrible, unfriendly staff.
it's located in front of jack london square
not dirty, mega filthy. no towels but roaches, even bed bugs! no cleaning, no wifi... anything else?
Location is perfect, near Jack London Station. The price is good.
The room is too dim and three of those four lamps are broken. An there is NO blanket in bed. NO wifi.
View of the empty pool
Nice Restaurants across the street.
1) The Inn is run down and dirty. 2) Wi-Fi was out of order with no expectation of being repaired soon. 3) The room lacked: A/C; sufficient working lights; needed to be cleaned; the closet had no pole to hang clothing on and no hangers; the carpet must be 40 years old; Trains frequently pass the hotel ensuring you remain awake at night; the staff were friendly but next to useless; no wastebasket in the room; No TV remote control. 4) I would discourage anyone from staying there unless they were desperate.
The bed The proximity to the ferry to San Francisco
Permanent noise from trains Noise from other rooms (too thin walls, bad insulation) Lack of most basic equipment : no towels, no wi-fi, no fridge, no hairdryer, no coffee maker... The filth, in the lobby, the elevator ... in the shower
couldn't think of one positive thing
there were no towels, had to dry off with bed sheet, AC did not work, Windows did not open, no remote for TV, no coffee maker, no iron, WiFi did not work. deadbolt did not work. Noisy all night long, could hear other rooms, hourly train noise. no nightly housekeeping. People bringing in prostitutes. Thought I was in a bad movie
Location: Jack London Square was across the street
Dirty rugs, windows that did not open, A/C that did not cool the room on a hot day, no cleaning service, no wastebaskets in room. Truly, it seemed like the hotel had gone bankrupt and we were the poor unfortunates left.
We changed rooms twice, sheets and beds were filthy, air conditioning system did not work, incredibly loud AMTRAK noise the entire night, W-Lan was unavailable the whole time - an awful experience. Personnel embarrassed, did their best to help.
Junk in the parking lot, smokers ready to greet me, lobby smelled like smoke..not for first time visitors not the best first impression of oakland. We looked at the room and left to stay in Berkeley instead. It is right next to the train tracks. This place should be torn down or completely renovated.
Near to bay and train station. Good for short vacations.
Hooting trains on hotel road. WIFI out of action. Bathroom needed good scrubbing.
Wet carpet!! wet bedding and no towels!
Room was not what I booked and not ready when I checked in air conditioning did not work in our room an door handle had to jiggle to open...All hotels in area were booked that weekend
Could not sleep, so much noise. Train started running around 5 am every 20 minutes. It was a scary and old crappy motel. And the wifi was "down" when we were there. This place was Truely awful.
The location of the hotel was actually decent. I say decent and not great because of all the partyers in the area. We were forced to leave our window open all night. It was extremely hard to sleep hearing the people below us on the street and not to mention the loud, obnoxious train every hr.
There were no parking passes to ensure that this vehicle parked in the port was actually someone who is staying at the hotel. This seemed odd because of all the parking in the area that was defiantly not free. The elevator had graffiti and light fixtures that were broken and uncovered. I happened to notice the Dept. Of Industrial Relations had not been updated since 7/21/2009. There were roaches in the elevator as well. The entire 2nd floor smelled of cigarette smoke and marijuana the entire time we stayed. On our way to the room there were dirty socks and broken floor boards, doors, and bathrooms. The room door would not open properly so we had to shove it open. The a/c was out the entire time we stayed. The weather was not nice enough for us to sleep or stay comfortably with no a/c and just the window open. Like I also mentioned before, the people on the street, the train, and the workers next door kept us from our sleep. Since the a/c was out in the whole building the people who stayed above where my car was parked kept their window open and spit and ashed their cigarette on top of my car. The shower was dirty and painted over to where the chipped paint would clog the drain. The light bulbs above the bathroom mirror did not work and were burnt out. There was no trash can, and the toilet paper had been pre used. The carpet smelled of mold from the over flowing shower/bathroom. The furniture was old and dirty with marks of burns and srews sticking out for anyone to injure themselves. There were exactly 3 channels on the TV. The curtains were broken and dirty. The beds were extremely dirty with holes in the sheets and blankets. Make up marks on the pillows. Ripped towels.... There was not one thing clean or kept up in the entire hotel on any floor at all. We asked the front desk for toilet paper on the last day, but never received it. We wore shoes in the showers and shoes on the carpet. We used our own pillows and blankets and towels as...
The location was nearby.
The associate at the front desk was rude. There weren't any towels, the "mosaic" tiles were lifted and it hurt to stand on them when attempting to shower, and the peep hole on our door was missing. So we did not feel comfortable and my husband had to cover it. The train station is nearby, and we realized this when booking the room, but the horns woke us up approximately every 30 minutes because it was unbearably loud. It honestly sounded as if it was warning us it was about to run through our room. To top it all off; when leaving in the morning (while packing) a cockroach ran across my husband's pillow.
The location was excellent for its close proximity to Jack London Square and the bay ferry. The lobby looks nice, and the front desk girl who attended to us upon arrival was polite. But the check out girl in the morning was unprofessional.
The room was not decorated or maintained. There were no pictures on the wall, no phone, no hair dryer, no towels, no TV remote, etc. The train passes by right in front of the hotel blaring its horn at all hours of the day and night. There was no AC so we had to keep the window open which made the noise even worse.
Proximity to the railway station is this hotel's only redeeming feature.
Where to begin. The walls are paper thin, you can hear neighbours' conversations, snoring and much much more. The wifi didn't work. I was woken by the sound of drilling very close to my head, which was very unpleasant and maybe I could have been warned at check in that this was likely to happen. The whole place felt grubby and smelled of stale cooking fat. Seriously overpriced.
The hotel is in a nice area not too far from Bart an public transportation the room was inviting warm no noise
I paid 91.00 dollars for my room when I arrived for check in at 3 the room I requested wasn't ready they give me a room with two beds I booked the room online didn't say anything about paying a 25$ down payment only if I used my card! so I paid cash air condition didn't work in the building so it got kinda buggy in my room had no towels an none of the lamps worked for what I paid I expected better
The staff tried to be helpful despite the appalling state of the hotel. There was free parking for the night.
This fleabag of a hotel is the worst hotel we have ever encountered. It is a disgrace to the city of Oakland California that such a putrid establishment is allowed to operate as the hotel needs to be condemned. I'm also surprised that Booking.com hasn't taken this hotel's listing off the website. Anyone who has given this hotel a positive review obviously works for the hotel. The hotel is dilapidated on the outside, dark and smelly in the hallways, the lights on the elevator don't work, the lock on the door was covered in crud, the room itself was mouldy and smelly and the windows, which didn't lock, had paint peeling from the frames and mould all over the sills. There was no telephone, no wi-fi, no drinking cups, 2 threadbare towels for 3 people, 1 light out of 4 that worked, no remote for the tv, a hole in the bathroom wall through which we observed a cockroach emerging and the carpet outside the bathroom was soaked with water. There was also no hair drier nor ironing board, but there was an unpainted bare patch on the wall where the hair drier was once mounted. And to top things off, the trains that ply up and down the main street right in front of the hotel blast their extremely loud horns continually at all hours of the day to warn unsuspecting motorists and pedestrians that they may be maimed or killed if they don't get out of the way. Take it from me, don't be seduced by the low price and misleading photos. Stay away from this place.
They gave to us a very BAD services in the 2 rooms I booked
Services, clean, everthing
The convenience of the San Fransico ferry service to Fisherman's Wharf and a 15 - 20 minute walk from the BART train service in the Oakland City Center.
The Amtrack train service with their horns going off every 30 minutes in the early morning hours and the old, worn bed mattress and pillows were very uncomfortable. The price was too high for the poor quality of this hotel.
