Be aware: If you book through Jet Luxury, you will sleep in the Trump Soho, but as a second or third class guest. Means lower floors, no view, no way to change anything (upgrade, shortening stay) at the reception ("we are not your contractual partner, we just do room service etc,"). As we planned to change the length of our stay after having checked in, we had to call a 24/7 number by ourselves - no answer. Guest sevices number - voice mail, no return calls to int'l phone numbers. It took us half a day and then policy did not allow changes. Be aware, you are not receiving 5 star service and do not have reception service of such! They even told us (in a friendly way at least) that we should not complain, as they do not own the rooms and that we paid significantly less than their rack rate.
Good postion, staff and room dimensions.
We booked our room in advance fixing the room rate but at the end they charged about 160€ more!!!! Absolute negative about the bathroom layout: no door to separate the toilette from the bedroom...one simple door would solve the problem preserving privacy!!
Loved the room, the lobby, the bar, the view, the location, the staff!
Not free wi-fi on a five-star hotel? Every medium standard hotel in Sweden offers free wi-fi so we were quite surprised to hear we had to pay $15/day to have access.
Nice location, lovely property. The doorman, Brandon (?), and the driver, Vladimir were thoughtful, kind and professional.
1) That they felt the need to "research" me online prior to my arrival (as I was informed at check-in)...creepy. 2)was told the room would be ready at 3PM...still not ready at 5:30 with no call
The staff at the Trump Soho is great, and the rooms are almost like a small apt. which is convenient for longer stays. The area is the best for walking around, eating and shopping. Everything you need other than Central Park is within walking distance.
When I first arrived, my room wasn't ready which was understandable as I was early. With their late 4pm check in time I'd expect that was plenty of time to get the room ready, but by 5pm, still not ready I began to complain, and by 5:30 it was still not ready for me. Eventually the Trump Soho gave me one of their rooms, while the room I booked apparently never was prepared. After a long flight from Hong Kong, I was not a happy to wait that long to get in my room and wash up before dinner. To me that is unacceptable and I won't return to any Jet Luxury properties.
Everything was amazing, great location, comfy bed, all was luxurious.
The check in was delayed until 5 p.m.!! This was so disappointing and unacceptable from a 5 star hotel especially given how expensive the room was.
Room is spacious, and very clean. I could enjoy bath time seeing great view of Manhattan in the big bathtub. Bed linen is comfortable, everything was perfect.
The location is fabulous, close to the subway and in the hub of Soho. The bathroom is large and the furnishing is lovely.
Free wifi is not normally included in the room rate, and it's very expensive.
Pool area was nice and the staff were attentive barring one incident where we were moved from our lunch table
Wifi was terrible and we ended up getting it credited back. But because of this it cost me over £150 in data charges to get important work e-mails. When we complained we were told a manager would "reach out" to us. We had to chase the "reaching out twice". Lifts were incredibly slow. We were sometimes waiting 5-10 minutes and never less than 5. (Doesn't sound a lot but go and wait outside your front door and time 5 minutes) We were also moved from our table at lunch one day because they needed it for a private function. I think this hotel gives precedence to functions over its core business of looking after guests. Finally, the mini bar was a total rip off $8 (plus tax of course) for a packet of crisps that was $1.35 in the shop around the corner. Also, they charge a standard tip on room service of 18% on top of a $5 tray charge. Then they still have the nerve to leave the gratuity line on the receipt to make you feel cheap for not tipping more! If you want a roof top pool, stick to the gansevoort. Will NEVER return to this hotel.
I simply love the Trump Soho. The view is amazing and u can enjoy it also from the bathtub. Its home away from home for me. The staff is very friendly and the room feels more like an apartment and not like a typical guestroom. The beds are very comfy and Koi restaurant downstairs is my favourite in nyc.
That wifi isnt free in the guestrooms. These days wifi is free even at the cheapest hotels. So I think for the rate you pay at the Trump Soho the wifi should be included.
