In the heart of Sequoia National Park in the Giant Forest area, this lodge offers great access to year-round activities as well as towering Sequoia trees, stunning valleys and sparkling waterfalls.

Located in Squaw Valley, this bed and breakfast is 30 minutes' drive from King's Canyon and offers a hot American breakfast each morning. Rooms include free Wi-Fi.
Score from 54 reviews Wonderful
Great location, easy to find. Like the fact that the Lodge was away from the roadway so there was no noise, yet easy access to the store and restaurant.
Hotel needs a serious upgrade and cleaning.
The location of the lodge is great it was very comfortable and the public areas were great.
The location is excellent. The visual appearance of the lodge building.
Repair work above windows had not been completed. Mosquito netting on window was broken and not functioning. Noise from the toilet in the room above when flushed was appalling. The evening meals that we had were very disappointing. The linguine was served cold and was basic (as if it had come from a tin), the ribs were dry and the chili soup did not even make it to the table. The King River salad was uninspiring. Service was very slow. For the price we felt that the hotel is living off of the reputation Of the Sequoia National Park and puts in poor customer service to support this.
You're minutes away from numerous trailheads. The rooms are clean and of a good size. Make sure you check the restaurant opening hours, because if can get busy, and closes fairly early. There's a small market store next door you can fallback on.
Great location, room window to sequioa forrest. Very nice lobby, good Wi-Fi there. Clean, room big enough.
Being in the sierra nevada. Incredible. The lodge is right on the doorstep of King's Canyon and the Giants forest.
When you're staying amongst magnificent sugar pines and giant sequoias, there really isn't much to complain about !
Marvellous place. Valmue for money. Stat at least two days Gere. There's so much to see!!!
The place, the comfort, the quietness - the nature.
Beautiful setting. I didn't mind not having a television.
Walls are very thin. A hair dryer would've been nice. No check-in desk on-site.
The environment around the lodge is very good and quite. You can sit in front of the lodge, drink tea, watch the moon and listen the wind flowing in the woods.
They only provide the wifi in the lobby.
Location close to Grant's grove. Relaxing environment in common lodge room with wood burning fireplace.
Unfortunately we were there during renovations. The hallway was blocked going to lodge common room & fireplace. Also ice machine blocked off by renovation. Check in at a separate place , at resturant gift shop area, not within lodge. Service for dinner & breakfast was slow. Meals at resturant was Expensive for what you received.
Very clean. Nicely decorated. Nice lobby for relaxing and surfing the Internet.
Internet not available in rooms.
Food service and poor quality of food
Redwoods and canyon were spectacular. Great walking environment.
Unaware of the planned controlled burn. Had to leacve early due to health concerns and terrible smokecand smell.
Real fireplace in a lounge. Friendly staff. Fresh air.
Lodge was being remodeled. Room had layer of fine dust every where. Spread was torn. Coffee maker but no cups. First night had two chairs. Second night one chair had vanished. I am sure when finished it will be as good as the location . Unfortunately we got there at wrong time.
The location was the best part. Quiet, comfortable and clean.
We would not have known where to turn in to register if it had not been for a glance to right, as we were driving, to see a tiny sign that read "John Muir Lodge." It was ridiculously small.
Everything. The location is perfect and the place is very well maintained. Deserves every praise.
Close to General Grant Sequoia and Big Stump entrance
The staff is not helpful. We requested a room upstairs but he did not bother to look for it at all. There is a big hole in the quilt. The bath room is small. The hot water in the shower is either too cold or too hot.
quality of food was fair (at best), and salad was poor. More attention to details in dining facility, and a strong manager is necessary there.
Location, location, location! It was so wonderful to stay right in the park. Fabulous walks right from the lodge including to Grant Grove where many incredible Sequoia trees are located. The lodge has an amazing great room with a big fireplace and lots of different places to sit and read, eat, talk, etc... We will definitely stay here again!
It would be nice if there were a microwave and/or fridge in the rooms since the only real option for food was a diner type restaurant. We actually brought some of our own food (yogurt, granola, salad, etc)keep it in a cooler and ate in the great room of the lodge to save some money.
The lobby and the fireplace.
Lack of any internet access in the rooms, free or paid.
I enjoyed the beautiful setting and access to the park most of all. It was great to sit by the fire in the great room.
I liked everything about staying there
