Very nice and attentive staff.
The building was rickety and the walls paper-thin. Wifi signal was very weak on the third floor. Breakfast options were minimal.
Staff was nice but not accomodating
Hotel is literally falling apart, dirty, room smelled of urine. Terrible experience.
The staff was beyond nice and courteous
Run down, old building that needs a desperate remodeling. Everything from curtains to shower towel holders to dressers to carpet. the door didn't feel securely locked when you went to bed or left for day. I was nervous about somebody being able to bust into the room with just the slightest lean on the door.
It was in town and the neighborhood was safe.
No elevator, small room.
Owner and son very attentive and friendly. Rent a bike at Brands and its a nice path to the beach. Good food and service at Per Un Angelo reataurant.
The food at the restaurant was really good.
This place needs to be renovated. Everything about it needs to be redone. It's very old and run down. Too bad as it could be charming with some work.
The purpose of the visit was a concert at the amazing Nikon at Jones Beach Theatre - so this was the most convinent location . The hotel has a restaurant that opens for lunch at 12. It's good value and the food is good - it serves dinner early in the evening too.
The hotel was basic however one big drawback - it did not serve breakfast or coffee and tea. Neither did the rooms have a coffee or tea making facility. Not great if your catching a flight! The hotel is located in a housing estate and the nearest diner is a 10/15 minute walk away. The local taxi cab company used by the hotel are extremely expensive and not metered so it's important to agree a price or find another company before embarking on a journey. The hotel could do with giving guests a map and information about local amenities.
Felt like we walked into the '40s or '50s when we entered. Simple, nicely kept, beautiful restaurant and bar. The room was of that time's demensions, but not tight. Despite being a throw back hotel,It had its own bathroom, also well kept We just enjoyed it. And do close to Jones Beach. Great choice for us.
We didn't have time to eat dinner at their restaurant. I later found out its wonderful.
Staff was professional, helpful and friendly. Bed was comfortable.
Mirror in bathroom was way too high. Limited outlets. No tissues. Only 1 bar of soap. Shower head did not work well.
Location was close near Seaford and our Dad!
We couldn't stay because the hotel had dirty carpets and smelled musty and moldy. The lobby was dark, dank and not appealing. Mostly, it was the concern that the hotel had experienced damage during Hurricane Sandy and had not been thoroughly cleaned and professionally treated. I couldn't stay there due to the smell or the safety concerns.
Floor in bathroom had caved in. Rug was on top of hole to cover it up. Mattress was extra hard. Carpet was not new. Looked like it had cigarette burns throughout the room. Viewed pictures and never saw this room portrayed in the photo gallery.
Clean cheap good
Certainly not a chain type hotel. Staff was helpful.
Room did not have a desk/workspace. It was like stepping into the 1950s or earlier.
Great value, clean rooms, eccentric.
Door lock was not as secure as I would prefer. Staff not at front desk after 10pm.
I loved everything about the hotel the staff was awesome and the place felt like home away from home.
Not one dislike.
hotel tucked into residental area, not a chain hotel, italian community
new york traffic
The location was good for our needs.
Was not told there was no elevator, and that the room was on the 2nd floor. The hot and cold water in bathroom sink was reversed. And bedroom dresser lights did not work.
Quaint hotel, friendly staff, clean rooms, excellent restaurant
charming, quaint, small hotel
no coffee in the morning
2 flight walk-up (not easy w/luggage), room was exceptionally small, blinds were broken, some lightbulbs were burnt out,no hangers, lock on door was not working properly, dining table was a piece of wood with a cloth over it, I could go on but why bother. Definitely not worth what we paid.
There was not much to like.
Run down rooms. Bed not clean, no hangers, no ice available, three flights of stairs , old tv and many more negatives.
The room was very small, double bed not queen as I requested. Tiny bathroom with small standing sink, no counter space. Tiny corner shower. Window air conditioner didn't cool room.
I really would recommend nothing about this hotel.
Jones Beach Hotel was a joke. It was horrendously overpriced for what you get; we stayed in a slanting, hideously decorated room with terrible furniture and facilities in a hellish Long Island suburban neighborhood/series of strip malls right off the highway rather than "down the path" from the beach (the path turns out to be 4 miles long). This place was awful, to the extent that my partner and I laughed and laughed and then I cried. I would not wish this place on anyone, and I will not be returning.
Quiet at night cause no one stays there
No coffee avail in the morning
