The room was so cute! Came with a condom in case things go crazy! The chalkboard doors were so much fun!
Staff Internet location atmosphere
noise bad insulation bathroom
Funky vibe, designer decor, chalkboard for your inner artist. Newly renovated. Cool location near a brewery and fancy restaurant Le Pidgeon, and a 20-30 minute walk to the downtown and pearl district. Price was reasonable. Beds and pillows and doonas were down and very comfy.
They tried hard to make it a cool boutique hotel, but ultimately due to the age of the existing building, it feels more like an upscale hostel. We could hear water rushing very loudly through the old pipes every time the neighbours used the facilities (oddly enough, our pipes was quiet, or maybe our neighbours could hear ours?). The air conditioner was one of those big boxy ones which protruded into the room circulation as it was mounted at shoulder level, and makes noisy bursts of air. Yes, you can turn it off, but there's no openable windows so it would be stuffy. The placement of the joinery where you put your suitcase was also awkward at the foot of the bed as there was not much room left for circulation, whereas there was a larger area in front of the window which appeared under-utilised. Oh and they placed a branded red condom very conspicuously on the bedside table, which kind of gives you an idea of the crowd they are going for! A bit crass for me. I would have preferred a mint chocolate.
Doug Fir next door Great food and drinks ate there 4 times. Walking to everything we wanted to do. Free Parking pass since it was my husbands 50th B-Day. Staff was great :) The condoms
No room for 4 people in the bar double queen to even walk around. No dresser and only 4 hangers for 4 people staying 3 nights. No fridge. Musky. Had to turn tv off and on to get sound. For $203 a night we were all very unsatisfied. We go to Portland every year and have had A LOT better for less.
I always stay here. Sushi down the street, chalkboard doors and wonderful vibe. The staff was friendly (and cute) and just a great place to be. I can't wait to go back.
That I had to leave.
everything, 10$ for secure underground parking leave your car and bike everywhere food at the Doug Fir is amazing (a 5$ milkshake!!) Chalkboard doors for expression. So much food close by too.
I stayed at the hotel with 3 other girlfriends and we had a blast. The hotel is in a very convenient location. It took 5-10 mins to get to other main attractions in the city of Portland. The nearby Doug Fir lounge is really cool. I recommend checking it out. I like that it was within walking distance of our room. The price was great and I was offered a discount on my next stay so I would definitely stay at this hotel again!
If your neighbours are loud you will hear everything. It didn't bother us too much but If you're looking for silence at night this might not be the best place to stay. It was also tough carrying out luggage up and down the steps. It would've been nice to get assistance with our bags by the hotel.
That is was available on a busy week in Portland.
Rooms were not in good shape. Doors didn't shut well, tv didn't work well and A/C was not working correctly. To top it off, the room came with earplugs and condoms. Doesn't seem like a quality place.
Warm welcoming staff Unique creative touches such as the blackboards Pet friendly Good location Good notes on local rstaurants We lived it!
No coffee in the room Extra charge for the kitchen
I love the Friendly Staff, cleanliness, stylish furniture, nice patio, excellent location, great price.
Walls may be too thin, thus at late night /early morning it is very easy to hear everything that occurs in the room next door.
I completely fell in love with Portland, and the hotel was really nice too. We had a quiet room but there were parties a few nights that were quite noisy, BUT they all finished before bedtime, so no worries there at all. The Doug Fir restaurant is really nice too.
Cool place, nice to have live music.
but a little expensive and noisy on weekend nights. Would've been nice to have a mini-fridge.
Location and friendly staff
First off rates increased by 15% before checking in, there was a wedding reception in the common area (by our room) till midnight with a DJ. Hotel also has a very popular and noisy lounge. I dont mind a goid party but Cant see paying $220 a night for no sleep!
Very cool design, patio, comfortable room. Love the location for the price. Love the bar
A little loud due to it also being a concert venue, actually it was just some of the concert goers that were loud.
Room upstairs; no elevator & no help Anti-Israel propaganda blazed on one door Very loud at all hours Smoking is everywhere. This is not truly a non-smoking hotel.
Friendly helpful staff.
Late night noise due to nearby venues.
Fun atmosphere location staff
Needs a good cleaning and bathroom tub disgusting
room too closed from Doug Fir and then very noisy.
Fun location, vibrant bar.
I paid for parking, but when I returned from being out late there were no spots available. The hotel should not charge for more spots then it can accommodate!
Love the Doug Fur Lounge and bar! Cool atmosphere and the staff was great! The rooms were small but comfortable and clean!
Walls seemed thin along with the windows. We would hear everything going on outside and did not sleep very well. **We were warned by the staff that our room was right next to the bar and we would hear noise until about 0230.** prob better place for single people then couples.
The Staff was amazing, very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were stylish and fun. The hotel has a resturant and club venue and I must say that the noise level stayed under control. Central location, my friend and I were able to walk to DT Portland in 20 minutes. The Doug Fir lounge has great food and drinks. I am in my late 30's and would reccomend this hotel to anyone especially if you are a lover of vintage and mid-century modern.
No complaints here!
The look of the decor and concept was great...
need work on the smell of the room and condoms in rooms when you have young guest staying.
nice hip hotel on reasonable prices and good location, 10 min walk to convention centre
hotel is too noisy in nights
The staff were excellent. Friendly and helpful. The art on our doors was an added and delightful surprise. We went to celebrate a 21st birthday and had the best time. Thanks Jupiter staff!!
