The staff was particularly outstanding. Charlie, Robert and Adrienne always had a welcoming smile, and kind words when I left in the morning and returned after a long day. They dealt with any problems I had quickly and competently--for example, the safe door had been closed and needed to be unlocked. They made my stay!
Not a bad experience, but rather a request. It is often not easy for a business traveller to return before 6 PM. I very much liked the idea of complementary wine, but would have liked the time it was served extended to 7.
quiet safe area
noisy people in the room next door
Everything...apart from the staff who was a lil rude when i asked him to use the hotel phone..coz my room phone was locked
Great location. Amazing charm
Small rooms, but cozy
Wifi not secure
Beds were comfy. Bathroom was very nice.
No parking available on the street. Had to pay for valet parking. The room was very cramped.
Good location and provided a lot of good complimentary facilities
Parking!!!! Need to be more helpful or lower the rates for the overnight
Location is great; decent price
Rooms can be a bit noisy with sounds from the street
Free espresso & cookies during the day and wine and cheese in the evenings? Reliable wifi? Plus an extraordinarily friendly and helpful staff? What more could anyone want?!
The location was perfect. We enjoyed the lobby area.
The rooms were really too small. Our second room was so small we could not get the suitcase passed the bed. We could not open/close the windows except from the bed. There were absolutely now drawers in the room! There were two stains on the carpet between the beds.
Lovely room and ensuite, beautifully and thoughtfully decorated and equipped. Loved the Nespresso machine. Staff incredibly helpful.
Our cab pulled up on the street immediately the porter was there for our luggage. From the minute u enter u feel at home. The hotel has a lovely ambience. Staff were extremely helpful and couldn't do enough for you and always addressed u by name. There are nice quiet seating areas inside and out. Happy hour is at 5pm cheese biscuits wine and champagne. We had a room facing the front street. The area is quiet and in a great position. Good restaurants walking distance. You are able to collect the hop on/off bus at the Hilton which is just around the corner. I would definitely stay there again.
The wine provided in the early evening. The pleasant staff and the quiet neighbourhood.
The distance from the subway.
Location, very helpful and friendly staff. We were offered an early check in as the room was already available, the beds are confy and the afternoon tea was a great surprise. I would definetely stam again.
The music and the bed.
There was no heat. Only promises of heat and the reason given was that weather would be getting warmer soon. The bathroom fan did not work. The refrigerator shelves fell apart. We were repeatedly given one wash cloth for 2 people despite daily requests for 2. The hot water ran out. There was no microwave. The iron did not work. The toilet paper roll was broken. There were no coffee pots, only steam espresso machines. On check out day the system was down and I could not see the charges on my credit card. Beth Morales said she Would contact me with the amount and make adjustments to make up for all the problems we had. She gave me a number to contact her directly. When I did not hear from her in 24 hours I called the number which was not in service. I still do not know what has been charged to my credit card. I would never stay in this place again and would discourage others from doing so.
Really liked the friendliness of the staff. The location was great for a variety of restaurants. Wine hour was was fun a great surprise.
Very small room. Shower vent not working. Water flow in shower not enough to rinse shampoo out of your hair. Old towels. Lights not working.
Both the people and the hotel itself
I'd like softdrinks
Historic architecture and greenery
Location, staff, nespresso
The hotel is in a convenient spot, but still about a 10/15 minute walk to the Dupont metro. The staff is helpful and friendly and the wifi is good in your room, which is a real plus. Also enjoyed the available comfy seating on the first floor to hang out, play chess, read a paper, etc., including a fun wine happy hour (gratis) there and a jar of tasty cookies and coffeemaker available for at-will snacking and caffeinating.
It is a nice hotel, with elegant furnishings in a fairly good location, although a bit far from the Metro (they say, Dupont Circle, but in fact it is 10-15 minutes away up a steep hill).
Terrible choice of television channels for a high quality hotel: no CNN or other news channels and no World Series.
Very pleasant, attentive staff. They acted immediately on a room issue.
Breakfast was OK if it's included, but not great for $12.
The cozy ambience of the downstairs lobby, and the well-appointed rooms and bathrooms.
